Correct. Partisan blame-shifting never solved anything.

The good thing is that now people in all States are getting vaccinated (some places see up to 200% increase), and some Governors who imposed populist bans and restrictions are trying to get them reversed, so people (local governments & businesses) will have a better chance to protect their citizens.

Wow, That graph really hit a nerve, didn't it.

If the newest info is true, vaccination rates are going through the roof as people are waking up to the reality. Rates doubles in Mississippi, and some places much more than that

Vaccinations rates more than doubled in Mississippi in recent weeks, more than 52,000 given just last week. Kathy Bryant decided it was time to get her first dose Tuesday.

Why should this be surprising? The vaccines don't "stop" regular coronavirus from spreading very well either.

They've found lots of people who were vaccinated and asymptomatic who still tested positive for the virus, and this was before the delta version.

It stops you from getting sick. That's the whole idea.

I just noticed you have over 9,000 posts and over 9,000 likes. That is encouraging to me in that since you seem to be middle of the road that you would get that many likes, which actually reflects well for the whole board (to me). It would be easy for an extreme leftist or rightest to get that many likes from their side so I don't usually put much stock in that statistic but when a middle of the road person does it I take notice. Now I have to try and figure out if there are that many centrists on the site or if you are actually getting likes from both sides or a combination of all three. I have been trying to find a board where middle of the road people could have reasonable debates on subjects but it seems every board is filled with extremists on both sides. During the Obama years I really had to roll my eyes at the right for their nonsense but the left turned the tables while Trump was president so I have been rolling my eyes for at least 12 years now, probably longer.

Your post made me laugh. I promise you there are many people here that hate me! They like to send me pms but some of them post openly too.

I don't participate on other political forums as much as I do here. I also don't mind when people disagree with me (how do we learn if we don't consider the other side?). We also have the "ignore" feature for the really annoying ones. ;-)

You should probably stop rolling your eyes. Partisan politics and the people that love to fight about it have been and will continue to be around forever. It just goes with the territory. I just try not to get pulled into the mud fight.

Pray tell, what is the percentage of breakthrough cases of Delta among the fully vaccinated? Answer: 0.08%.

"The 125,682 "breakthrough" cases in 38 states represent less than .08 percent of the 164.2 million-plus people fully vaccinated since January."

    https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heal...-000-fully-vaccinated-americans-have-n1275500

Care to rephrase what you just said?

Like I said, the media wants you to believe that it's much more frequent than it is.

MJ Davies is an excellent poster and a very, very, very nice person. One of my favorite posters, here!
By the way, I'm a centrist.
You may not be able to tell given my strong opinions on Covid-19... but that's because I'm a medical doctor and a medical scientist (MD PhD) so I tend to be very incisive regarding Covid-19, its vaccines, and treatments.

You are making a specious argument. When one is vaccinated, having a, "case," of Covid, is little more than having a bad cold. The unvaccinated are the reason why the rise in new cases is so PROBLEMATIC, leading to a large number of hospitalizations and deaths--
    understand the difference?

Hardly anywhere near the previous spike. The spike in cases is not producing the same spike in hospitalizations that it did before. In fact it is still near it's all time low. You can still die from Covid if you are vaccinated.

But the ones you posted to me had nothing to do with what we were talking about! Check this graph out:

Your graph has nothing to do with anything. I warn you, - don't do this again.

LOL. OK, I get it. You have a thing for posting graphs and charts, even if they have nothing to do with the post you quoted. I tried posting a nice pretty graph that had nothing to do with what we were talking about to illustrate, but all you could say was, "Nice graph". I give up, you win. I will remember in the future that you have nothing important to contribute. Maybe PF should just make a forum section for those who just like to post pretty graphs that have no connection to the thread subject, sort of like an arts section.

LOL. Well, at least you got it that my posted graph had nothing to do with what we were talking about. Too bad Bower didn't get it. All she could say was, "Nice Graph". By the way, I'm not doing it again, so I will listen to your warning. Posting pretty pictures that have nothing at all do with what we were talking about is just plain stupid and a waste of time and that is not why I am here.

Your reply could only be judged at all accurate, by looking at overall national case statistics. On a state by state basis-- which is the important one, when it comes to the pragmatic concern over hospital bed-space, your comment about, "all time low," numbers of cases, could not be farther from the truth, in those states with the lowest vaccination rates (which aren't also among the State's with the lowest population densities). Furthermore, this is still the early part of this (fourth) wave of Covid infections. All medical experts are predicting this to get worse, as we move into fall (barring a steep uptick in vaccination, among those who have, till now, been most resistant to getting immunized).

Though one still, theoretically, could die from the Delta variant, the chances of that are infinitesimally smaller, if you have been immunized. Those who do succumb to the virus, after vaccination, I understand to be almost exclusively people who were already immuno-compromised.

Or basically flu season but magically the flu disappeared. The major deaths all along are among those with multiple comorbidoties, more than five or more to be exact.

@independentthinker, Centerfield is one of the good guys. Heads up though...do NOT even think about posting any conspiracy theories. He types about 2,000 wpm when he gets worked up. You do NOT want to see that. ;-)

Seriously, he and a few of the others guys are in that field and know quite a bit about the cycles of the virus and vaccines and all of them have been very forthcoming and receptive to answering questions.

The policy today at the border is the same as it was 2 yrs ago.
But you can post numbers to back up your claim. Do you have any?

Have you seen video of what's pouring over the porous southern border that was promised to be secured by Congress in 1988 in exchange for amnesty to 3 million illegal Mexicans?
Those people coming over are not Mexicans and largely Covid positive.
