    Ah, now I see.

We see a lot of similar posters over the years. They usually bail very quickly when they realize they do not have the mental capability to carry a debate.

I honestly think it's too late for America, too many illegal guns in circulation and instructions on You Tube to turn a rifle into an automatic weapon. I wouldn't want to live there without a weapon... sadly this is their new normal they are just going to have to live with it... be more cautious about attending crowded gatherings etc

Gun murders deaths are actually down 60% in the US since 1993. Most of the numbers you see plastered all over the internet include suicides which are far above homicides.

When it comes to suicide we are basically tied with France and that INCLUDES the massive suicides performed by gun in the US

Now first and foremost, I think we need some regulations. But...

The media and these "big ones" are definitely horrible and sadly the gun "homicidal violence" is incredibly race based.

For the number guy out there

Here is a list of gun murders per 100,000 people in the following "topics" (when you source these the numbers are a touch different but similar enough where I am comfortable posting.

    United States Black - 19.4
    United States Hspnc - 5.3
    United States Total - 3.60
    United States White - 2.40
    Finland - 2.00
    United Kingdom - 1.2
    France - 1.1
    Germany - 0.8

Sadly that massive number o 19.4 comes from a very small section of the United States and I would say is more economically. If we say "just white people in general" then we are still twice as high as the UK. But me personally as morbid as it is to say, I would rather have the freedom of firearms we have. The US is massive and sadly 90% of the gun murders happen on 5% of the land.

"The November 2015 Paris attacks were a series of coordinated terrorist attacks that occurred on Friday 13 November 2015 in Paris, France and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis.[11] Beginning at 21:16 CET, three suicide bombers struck outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during a football match. This was followed by several mass shootings, and a suicide bombing, at cafés and restaurants. Gunmen carried out another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert in the Bataclan theatre, leading to a stand-off with police. The attackers were shot or blew themselves up when police raided the theatre.[12]

The attackers killed 130 people,[2] including 89 at the Bataclan theatre.[13] Another 413[14] people were injured,[15] almost 100 seriously.[5][6]Seven of the attackers also died, while the authorities continued to search for accomplices.[3] The attacks were the deadliest on France since the Second World War,[16][17] and the deadliest in the European Union since the Madrid train bombings in 2004.[18] France had been on high alertsince the January 2015 attacks on Charlie Hebdo offices and a Jewish supermarket in Paris that killed 17 people and wounded 22, including civilians and police officers.[19]"

Yup, and France didn't spaz out and look for immediate crazy changes in their policy.

Most (including people on this website) said "It is a small number and 'worth' it to be able to help refugees"

Well, that is pretty much how America feels. If you are white, the difference is justifiable just like the France terror attacks which doubled the number of dead.

Unfortunately if you are black it sucks..... But making guns illegal will not solve that problem in our inner cities., honesty I am not sure what will

I do wonder if police brutality and the guns in circulation are related, would police brutality decrease if guns were removed from society?... obviously cops feel threatened by potentially anyone being allowed to own a weapon.

Isn't this racist to even say?

Why do we not consider this idiot in Vegas a "terror attack?"

Most of the "lone wolf" muslims seem like just super unhappy people that recently converted.

A terror attack is an act of violence on civilians to attain political or ideological goals... if Vegas shooter had idealogical or political goals then yes... it's a terror attack.

But yes I agree, suicide bombers are mentally unstable too imo

The NRA pretty much owns and operates those with the power to reform or regulate guns in the United States and thus no action will be forthcoming. If Sandy Hook did not instigate such actions this will not either. We as Americans have accepted and pretty much enabled the profit over death mentality the NRA represents and are tacitly to blame for what has happened, regardless of how this makes us feel.

Here in Harrisburg, we had a local politician who got held up walking to his car. He was armed with a .380 S&W Bodyguard. I use to have one, they hold 6 or 7 rounds. The perp was also armed with a handgun. You know they had to be close yet both emptied their magazines with no one getting hit.

Yes, because that scenario occurs every day! Meanwhile, during the time that event is not happening, little Joe gets hold of the AR and accidentally kills his sister or while daddy is cleaning his shiny new tool accidentally kills his wife.

You're right wrt the UK. It is the converts who have been the cause of many of the attacks here

Now think of the consequences of allowing anyone to have a gun. Not one bullet hit using a handgun. Random bullets flying around. What would have happened with a semi..................

They were semi's. Even police involved shootings show they only hit about 10% of the time.

Even more of an argument for tighter gun control. That politician clearly should not have had a semi as protection. The idea that anyone can go and get a gun without the need for insurance or training is plainly stupid.

Maybe "little Joe" should have taken the Eddie Eagle Firearm Safety Course offered by the NRA then he'd know not to act like an idiot. ;)

At least he held off the perp who was also armed. If he didn't have a gun, things would have gone a lot differently.

Irrelevant. Training should be mandatory if you want a gun
