Firearm violence and suicide started decreasing in Australia in the 80's. Currently your suicide rate is at an all time high. Firearm crimes in Australia are rising rapidly. You only ever had one major mass shooting like Port Arthur, so there's no evidence your gun confiscations did anything. There is nothing to stop the same event happening in your country just like this one.
The right to free speech is just as important as the right to keep and bear arms for one's own individual use and protection. I want violent street and prison gang members outlawed and banned in America. The Founders would have no more tolerated the Crips, Bloods, M-13 and thousands of others to roam the streets than they would have allowed bands of savage Indians to roam the streets and take scalps. ALL, that's ALL adult repeat violent felons should be automatically put to death within 6 months of their 3rd or greater violent felony conviction. When I read how the Turks always deceived the Christian majorities into handing in their guns under a promise of peace, starting from their first major massacre in 1832 until the last genocide 90 years later, I realized that Americans should never give up their guns. I had a lot of fights about that in my family in the past, but now with the political situation, they're starting to see the light. The only reason we're not in a civil war yet, is because the liberals/globalists know the strength of the private militias. The only hope the liberals have to take over the government, is to ban guns. If they were really serious about stopping the violence, they would take away the drugs that is feeding it: Seeing the light for security and soul.

As bad as mass murder is, it's still a tiny portion of the total number of murders. By taking away lawfully owned guns, you are saving some from mass murder at the expense of many more being murdered individually because they are no longer able to legally protect themselves. I've known 2 people who committed suicide. One hung himself and one shot himself. They are both equally dead.

Most anti-gunner believe TV and Hollywood fiction movies from old westerns onward are all true. That if a bad guy is shot, he is instantly brain and nerve dead the micro second the bullet hits him - and anyone can easily cause a bad guy to instantly fall down dead with their first and only bullet. The gunfight at dawn for which the quickest draw wins because the other is instantly dead is not reality, hard as that is for some people to believe. Of course, only bad guys instantly die. Good guys usually are only wounded and can keep on fighting. Hand guns have NO stopping power unless a hit to the brain or severing the spinal cord. No, a 38 is plenty accurate. You aren't accurate. A marksman can hit a dime at 10 yards with a 38, depending on the model and barrel length. Nor do you really understand "accurate." It's not like tag where if your bullet touches the other person he's out, particularly with any handgun.
