This is so sad to me. People don’t mind the idea of the rich getting something for nothing or not paying their fair share. But it just kills them if some poor person who works two jobs, gets food stampsMaybe if we raised the minimum wage there would be less need for assistance...no, that would hurt the huge corporations.

If eugenics were the issue we would be killing poor people. Eugenics is about purifying humanity, not supporting the riff-raff.

Last I checked, I wasn't being made to work. It's a voluntary arrangement where I agree to work for a mutually agreed upon sum.

I know there are slaves who are forced to work, but... that's not what the rich do.

Question. Who gets more subsides in the US. The poor or wealthy and business.

When is the last time a conservative president, or politician, did anything to stop subsidies for the wealthy or business Or even complain about them.

Why is it when we hear about getting something for nothing is always the poor who are brought up. Never the wealthy or business.

Farmers generally are not poor. Ever hear a complaint on this board about this?

Most subsidies went to farmers of grains, such as corn, wheat, and rice. It’s because grains provide 80 percent of the world's caloric needs. By 1999, farm subsidies had reached a record $22 billion.

Between 2001 and 2006, farm subsidies tapered off a bit, averaging $19 billion a year. Of this, about 15 percent was wasteful, unnecessary or redundant.

Between 1995 and 2010, farm subsidies had ballooned to $52 billion a year on average. Of this, more than 6 percent went toward four "junk food" components: corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, corn starch and soy oils. Many people wondered why the federal government was subsidizing food that contributed to America's obesity problem.

No, eugenics has nothing to do with killing poor people. Where the hell did you get that idea from? Eugenics is the attempt to improve a particular human gene pool. The poor aren't going to be part of that gene pool that is being improved.

Is that why they call it work force?

I'd love to do away with subsidies. That's just the welfare state for the rich, and I'd love to do away with all of that nonsense. I really don't know how congress manages to get that pushed through every damn time it comes up with no pushback from conservatives and progressives.

That's something I think we can all agree upon.

Exactly. If you want to improve the gene pool, kill off undesirables. That is why abortion is so useful, it prevents defective people from being born.

I'm not really sure of the etymology behind work force, but it means the employees of a particular set. So the employees who work for google are what composes google's workforce.

The "force" bit has nothing to do with forced labor. That's slavery.

Why kill off undesireables? They're not going to be part of a eugenics program. Sorry boss, but if I'm trying to create the best breed of race horse, that doesn't necessitate killing mules.

Say Mrs. Smith is willing to pay $1000 to have her house painted. But I can get Joe to do it for $800. So I hire Joe, he does the work, Mrs Smith pays me $1000, Joe gets his $800, and I pocket $200 without having had to do any work. Find a dozen or more Joes and I'll be rich in no time, all without doing any actual work.

That's called a commission, and nobody in your scenario was forced to do anything. It was all voluntary.

When I bought my car, the sales dude got a commission for that. Selling me the car was part of the work. You're just going through life with blinders on and only seeing the guys doing the actual pushing of buttons that caused my car to be manufactured. There's a whole lot more involved with getting a car from the factory to the end user.

In your example, aren't you doing work by hooking up mrs smith with joe?

Except you did do actual work. You only decided not to call it that.

Welfare was the result of the war on poverty and didn't work because today 15% of people are in poverty and many more aren't technically poor but have a hard time paying their bills affording the increasing costs of living. The best ways in eliminate poverty is the boost economic, business, and technological growth through regulation cuts and tax cuts, and to limit income inequality.

I always went to work willingly. Nobody had a gun on me or the threat of violence on me if I didn't go to work.

Maybe whites are anti-welfare because they've worked hard all their lives and they don't like seeing some people lounging at home, watching "The View", and collecting government checks.

Oh so it’s only blacks who are on welfare .......Why not make that asinine description a reality while the Uber rich are on their yachts the People you have contempt for are working two jobs at minimum wage to make ends meet. That’s the difference between the left and the right. You see poor people with such contempt but worship the rich. The people watching the view are usually homemakers who are hardly lounging around

I didn't say blacks were only people on welfare. I was explaining why some whites don't like welfare.
