About time. I bet she still votes in 2024 though. Twice....

This is why Gavin said he wasn't running for office against Biden. He can sell the seat without worrying his phones are tapped.

And yet, the GOP never called for his resignation.

That could get tricky. Look at what happened to the former Governor of Illinois.

What makes you think either party in Washington are any different anymore? I hope you're not one that falls for the dog and pony show :tears:

Never said that but the hypocrisy in your post is very revealing though. The GOP would never do that thing on their own in 2019 or even today with Sen McConnell also aging. Basically, all you are doing is pretending to care until the political winds shift again.

    But his phone was tapped.

    I am mostly joking.

Obviously, it's not going to be sold for cash. However, political appointments, etc. might be discussed.

Feinstein was certainly not a 'centrist' and never pretended to be one. She was an integral part of the intensely-liberal vanguard that flexed its muscles in Washington D. C. in the 1990's, and she was very good at what she did. Indeed, she was "woke" long before the word was ever defined as being unabashedly Leftist and 'wanna-be Socialist'.

Now, as it has been suggested by @drluggit , there's a convenient, tailor-made place for the Democrats to dispose of Kamala-la-la Harris, and still keep an all-important vote in the Senate.... :democrat:

LOL... You call aimless word salad a job?? She's a safe vote in the Senate. Put here back where she can't do anything dangerous... Which allows Newsome, ironically, to be suddenly available. Isn't that the democratic party wet dream? Or do you prefer the trans option of Michelle?

One believes that she will have a happy and long lived afterlife of voting in CA for centuries to come...

LOL at those who think Harris wants to go back to the Senate.

You don't spend years waiting to get to the adult table at Thanksgiving, only to beg to go back to the kids table once you get to the adult table.

Depends! In a political environment there's no difference!

    See PF for examples.

    RIP D. Feinstein.

She worked until the day she died and that's sad. Her family should have pulled her away so she could have enjoyed a decent retirement.

Well they do detract from the true trailblazer that she was. Its very important to know when to take your bow and leave the stage. Her effectiveness was compromised 6 years prior. She did a lot of harm to her reputation, her state lost an agressive advocate for their interests and her caucus and the US Senate was embarrassed the same way it was with Strom Thurmond who did the same thing. I won't discuss this further here.

There was a fine mind, a shrewd tactician and a long legacy of achievement to be celebrated. I recall her as a pioneer Senator who fought for the environment, progressive tax policies, women's rights, immigration reform, universal health care, and queer rights long before the 'LBGTQQ+' accronym ever showed up. Ideologically, Feinstein was Ted Kennedy with a softer rhetorical presence.
