...represents justice for the horrific way he murdered George Floyd. I hope this sets a precedent for these kinds of cases. Police have been killing unarmed Black people for too long, with no consequences for their actions. I'm glad George Floyd's family can have closure now. There are many Black people who will never have closure for their family members.
I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way. Please know that I am not attacking you but I have a sincere question. Why did you write "She was a very attractive young lady."?
So you agree people breaking laws that do not put the public in danger should not get the death penalty. You use a white woman when the thread was about Floyd to illustrate that. Why? Because that is the only way you can relate? Or maybe it's the troll urge?
It's mostly to make a point about the differing outcomes of their cases, although I've no doubt that looks like "trolling" to you. Which one got world wide notoriety and which one is relatively unremarked on? Which officer was charged with murder, and which officer wasn't even publicly identified, and will face no charges?
Are you asking why I referred to her in the past tense? When people are deceased we are supposed to refer to them in the past tense.
I guess Breonna Taylor had no business laying asleep in her bed....she got the Death Penalty. I guess Ahmaud Abery had no business jogging in that neighborhood....he got the Death Penalty. I could go on and on---you want to play that game?
If I did want to play that game, I could probably go longer than you, but that's not my intent. However just a minor correction, Breonna Taylor didn't die sleeping in her bed, she died standing right by her boyfriend who was firing at the police. It was a typical gun moll death.
She was asleep before the cops started firing bullets into her apartment. One of the worst miscarriages of justice I've ever seen is the police who killed her and terrorized her boyfriend getting off scot free.
There is nothing wrong with it if that's what you want to say about her. I just asked because I've heard many people say that kind of thing after someone's passing. It feels weird to me as it's almost like saying the death wouldn't be a tragedy if the person wasn't attractive. It just seems like everything positive about that person is secondary to them being physically attractive. I didn't intend to step on your toes.
I'm sorry if that came out sounding the wrong way. I'll be more careful about what I write from now on.
Oh, no. That's not what I meant. You didn't do anything wrong. It's just something that I've always been curious about because I've heard MANY people say it. We good?
No, what you were doing is comparing her death to Floyd's and minimizing the importance of the verdict. Her murder was unfortunate but a very rare occurrence. Floyd's death is part of a pattern of police homicides of unarmed suspects that usually in the past have not been prosecuted. Chauvin found guilty is an important verdict, but you bring up Ms Babbitt which was not the point.
