That's the idea with banning math books that include CRT.

They want to stick to the facts you leave paranoid conspiracy theories out of it.

If a library refuses to purchase a book, is it banned? You're argument is fairly weak. I assumed there would be some zinger attached to this to make it plausible, but you seem to be doubling down on nothing.

I notice a distinct devolution from the left on DeSantis related topics. You're making less and less sense. It's curious since some of you can still discuss other issues, but if DeSantis is in the thread title, you remove your brains and start typing.

Hate to repeat stuff, but if the libraries are not permitted to have it, then its banned.

If a cafeteria is not offering cocaine, its not because they refused to buy it, its because its a banned substance aka they couldn't have it even if they wanted it

So...a cafeteria would offer cocaine except it's "banned substance?"

OK please make these arguments this November.

Banning books is banning something YOU don't like. Banning education because it doesn't fit your ideological position, or your political agenda. People ban learning specific things because they cant defend their position on its existence.

The right in this country has been using CRT as a boogyman for every ill they find. They cannot debate the merits of CRT, so therefore the silence its voice. Why not allow people to see both side of a debate, and let them decide those merits on their own ?

I'm sorry its flying over your little head mike.

Yea, that's pretty far out there in the world of Orwell and his "Ministry Of Truth", which was the opposite of what it sounds like.

Care to prove what I said was wrong ? Or do you want to keep deflecting.

Homophobic? What specifically in the bill qualifies as "homophobic"? Letting kids enjoy the innocence of childhood for a few years before the learn about blow jobs and proper condom wear?

Did your research show you your referenced link is in the "humor" section? Do you also include Babylon Bee as a reference?

There is really nothing to deflect from. Since all states have criteria for text books and since all text books don't meet the criteria of all states, that means that all states, according to your logic, ban books.

    It's an absurdity.

So you think it's impossible? And everybody on Florida just collectively believes a conspiracy theory?

If progs see a law that forbids teachers from introducing all sexual concepts to 5 year olds... then immediate zero in on homosexuality... then object to it... then its pretty clear that progs are just fixating on one part of sexuality and it also begs the question: Why progs are so interested in talking to 5 year olds about adult sexual concepts?

5 year olds are NOT taught sexual concepts. Nor is that the problem with this law.

How are you going to explain sexual preference without teaching sexual preference?

Where have I heard this before?

Parents: Stop teaching kids racist CRT nonsense.
Progs: There's no such thing as CRT, that's just a made up right-wing conspiracy.
Government: Here's a law banning the teaching of racist CRT nonsense.
Progs: Wahhhh fascist Republicans are trying to cancel black people by not letting us teach CRT!

The '3rd party' section of the law has progs particularly mad because it disrupts their money laundering schemes. Prog school board officials whine about needing money, prog governments give them our money, prog school board officials hire expensive prog organizations to come in and push their ideology on kids, prog organizations donate a portion of that money back to prog school board officials and prog politicians.

No, its not. They specifically banned them because of their political belief. Nothing more, nothing less.

FTR banning books that teach something you dont like is bad on BOTH sides.

    "everyone in florida" ?

FFS man, CRT has become the rights new boogyman. To deny that this country has a history of racial discrimination ins beyond ridiculous. So the way you support that belief is to ban the education of what really happened.

It's garbage that isn't related to the subject that doesn't need to be included in the book and parents don't want it.

End of the day, if parents don't want it in the book, it doesn't belong in the book. Parents are the ones who have power to decide. If you were not outraged at cat in the hat getting 6 books banned, then you have no say in this.
