You gotta be hard core if you want to be religious.

That you say homosexuality is a sin does not make it a sin. And homosexuality is no more connected to what happens in the Blue Oyster Bar than heterosexuality is connected to what happens in the Moulin Rouge Table Dance Club. As for the “abomination”: Surely in your eyes Sarah Palin is an abomination for wearing Jeans, i. e. a man’s garment (Deut. 22:5).
The Pope hasn’t changed the Catholic Churches stance on homosexuality yet, but in his latest remarks he surely has changed the tone. You should listen to him and be careful about judging people. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:37). This is what the Bible tells us Gods word said. God’s word is Jesus Christ ( John 1:14) and nowhere in the entire Bible is Jesus Christ recorded saying anything about homosexuality.

I say it because it is true. If he has changed the tone he is wrong, as is the degenerative effects of politicised religion. Which is different than exercising religious principles by people in politics. Every one acts on what they believe.

Well I'm not a father yet, but my kids wont have enough time to talk back to me with all the right-winged Christian Conservative indoctrination I have planned for them ;)

Yeah, I'll sandwich it between watching Star Wars with them and teaching them how to play Football.

    I'm a real monster.

Just because I have a differing opinion to you doesn't make me any less of a human being.

I think that the main problem in regard to homosexuality and the RCC is that it is sex outside of marriage. Even heterosexual sex is sinful to the church when it is done outside of marriage. So, if I was the RCC i would work on finding a way to marry gay couple. That way the homosexual act between spouses wouldn't be sinful anymore.

Beside, their primary job is to save souls. They would save quite a bunch just by recognizing SSM!

You say it not because you follow core Christian principles, but because you follow your very own social prejudices. The same social prejudices because of which you’d happily quote Deut. 22:5 to any drag queen, while you wouldn’t think twice about Sarah Palin wearing Jeans or me borrowing my husbands shirt the other day. The American Right makes use of these prejudices and widespread homophobia. If these self-proclaimed Christians just acted on what they believe, they would not oppose gay marriage while cheating on their wives (http://www.policymic.com/articles/2...se-of-marriage-act-but-cheated-on-their-wives). Remember: contrary to homosexuality adultery is something that Jesus is actually recorded to have commented about.
Which brings me back to core Christian principles: love and forgiveness. None of which I sense in your posts.

Paul said that believers should expel the evil man from among them. He did say that they should be loving and forgiving.

    1 Corinthians 5:11-13 (NKJV) =
[SUP]"11 [/SUP]But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? [SUP]13 [/SUP]But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”

Balderdash! God is serious about sin and judgeing it, he is equally serious about provideing us a way out of that judgement through the blood of his perfect son Jesus Christ. Ignorence is no excuse, saying that you did not believe because there was not enough evidence will serve as a poor and useless defense.

Two verses later Lev says any man that plows the corners of his field shell burn in hell as well as any man who consorts with a woman on her period or wears clothing made of two different types of material.

You should learn your own holy book before you try to condemn others with it.

What was that about judging in the bible.

I believe it went something along the lines of...judge not lest he be judged for judgement is the right if the father alone...

You got it. Telling the truth is not being judgemental. But, since you know that much about the father, what will you do? Do you not fear God?

It's a real shame that the god you cower before is such a spiteful, churlish dickbag.

Yeah. Because god becoming man so that man could kill god in order to save man from god makes SOOO much sense.

I do not cower before God, I rest in his promises. I worship him because he is Holy, Just, and Righteous and he has provided a way for me to escape his wrath, through the blood of his only begotten son through whom the whole world might be saved because he loves us. Not being saved from your sin is a choice with eternal ramifications, God acts on your choice to reject that free gift and continue in sin.

Nothing is "at stake". All paths lead to enlightenment, and all consciousness will achieve it. It's only a matter of time and lessons learned. But it is inevitable.

Really? How close are you that "enlightenment"? What is the fruit of a higher conscienousness? You do not realise how spiritually void that is, despite its sounding as though it has meaning. It is a form of godliness but a denial of its power.

Much closer than you, but yet a long way away. It is not godliness, for we are god, though I prefer the term "Source" as it is more accurate. Little, tiny pieces of it, but of it we are. For "Source" consciousness is the ONLY real thing. Everything else is an illusion. Separation is an illusion. Physicalness is an illusion. Indeed the very computer you're reading these words on is an illusion, a trick, a simulation. You'll learn soon enough. Probably not in this lifetime, but in a future one, for sure.

Paul said that men will judge angels. So if men will judge angels then men can punish them as well. And if men judge angels then men have power comparable to God's. As the Bible says, we are all gods.

    1 Corinthians 6:3 (ERV) =
[SUP]"3 [/SUP]You know that in the future we will judge angels. So surely we can judge life’s ordinary problems."

I cannot help but be amused at atheists, professing or otherwise, who believe Hell cannot possibly be worse than anything their puny imaginations can conceive.

I cannot help but be amused at people who think Archbishop Desmond Tutu does not believe in the existence of any god of any kind. Funny stuff.

When Tutu said what he did, he made himself rather than God the arbitrator of right and wrong. Frankly, I wouldn't do that if I was him.
