What I think is that your goalpost shift has failed.

Showing pictures of Hart's/Potter's Fields or even alluding to mass graves in NYC without the necessary context of how NYC disposes of excess bodies regularly or especially calling that process "mass graves" AT ALL during this panic is ridiculously dishonest, inflammatory and fake news.

So @Sanskrit I did look it up before you posted. Clearly you don't bother to read links. An increase of 5 times the normal number being mass buried per day

 

Going back now would be reckless. We can't go back to work unless we test, test, and test some more. Either testing for the virus, or for the anti-bodies (meaning you've had it and recovered or were asymptomatic).

Those who have not yet contracted the virus could get it and pass it along, just like we were doing en masse before the lockdowns. If you don't believe that isolation and social distancing work, look at a timeline for South Korea. If you test negative for the virus, that just means you haven't had it yet, and could easily become infected.

Only those of us who are immune (get a positive anti-body test) should be going back to work. And right now, we still don't know whether or not we could get reinfected, or could still pass it on to others even though we're now immune.

The only truly safe way to return to business as usual is a vaccine.

Past this point of general knowledge about COVID, anyone advocating mass, involuntary testing who does not also mention that the "Novel" test is the same old test as for the common cold is either ignorantly parroting or shilling. It's fine to advocate for tests of the common cold, but that's not really the same as this virus. Should antibody tests be conducted in heavy activity areas? Maybe, but always keep in mind "1" above.

Have changed my mind on this, LW please -do- keep shilling infinite lockdown that will lead to economic collapse sooner rather than later. Will make great campaign fluff in November, and who knows you may end up turning some mainstay blue states red.

Who says they're counting the flu and/or pneumonia? Pneumonia is, in fact, what is killing people with this virus. It causes pneumonia-like symptoms, the lungs fill with fluid and you can't breathe. The opposite of what you claim is much more likely. With so few tests, there are probably many deaths being chalked up to pneumonia when that pneumonia was caused by COVID-19. And FYI, pneumonia is a type of coronavirus, as is the common cold.

In what way is the Trump administration abusing power?

Without proof, what you're doing is irresponsibly spreading misinformation, which in this case could endanger someone's health, even their life.

The mid-line of the model model is under-counting deaths by less than 2%. In what sense is that "dead wrong"? That indicates to me that the model is worth considering, and according to model, 41,000 Americans are going to die in the next 3.5 months. 30,000 more Americans dead by the first of May. 10,000 of the total dead aren't infected yet.

All the areas under lock-down, have been locked down by State Governors, it is they that will determine how and when they will be unlocked.
