I know that it would be totally inconsistent, and therefore not realistic, but I'm not sure that I would be totally against legislation which only forbid males competing in female competitions. It seems to me that the only issue with females competing in male competitions is safety. And safety might be the one thing making me oppose such legislation, in favour of legislation which applies both ways.

 

This is a fascinating article. The author spends the first few paragraphs presenting a great argument for why transwomen (otherwise known as MEN) should not compete in female sport, but then totally undermines EVERYTHING that they have said by saying this stupidity: "To be clear, trans women are women. Full stop." Is this also your position?

It's more complicated than "the left"—an absurd, sweeping generalization worthy of talk radio blather—accepting trans women saying they're women. I'm not "left" and I'm prepared to accept them as women. That said, biological males should not compete in women only competitive sports where biological males would have advantage, period.

They're unwilling to speak out against Trump for the same reason Democrats are largely silent about biological males competing against women. Polarized politics.
