It's a breath of fresh air to read how this issue was addressed in a real life situation.

I had a 6'5" boy (!!!) who could stand under the basket, jump straight up and dunk a ball backwards over his head and a guy with a deadly outside shot—they were really good—but my girls played the most disciplined, exciting games I ever coached. The girls' determination to win was inspiring.

Is she your idea of a PROMINENT Democrat? I doubt that even the average American liberal political commentator would have a clue who she is.

Why do you say that? Are Republicans talking about Trump all the time? It seems that the only people who are still talking about Trump are Democrats. Well, them and Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

For the last time, when the hell did you retire?

I know that it would be totally inconsistent, and therefore not realistic, but I'm not sure that I would be totally against legislation which only forbid males competing in female competitions. It seems to me that the only issue with females competing in male competitions is safety. And safety might be the one thing making me oppose such legislation, in favour of legislation which applies both ways.

This is a fascinating article. The author spends the first few paragraphs presenting a great argument for why transwomen (otherwise known as MEN) should not compete in female sport, but then totally undermines EVERYTHING that they have said by saying this stupidity: "To be clear, trans women are women. Full stop." :roflol: Is this also your position?

Is this the "extreme abortion laws" which you refer to?

You wanted a pol and I gave you one. Now, you want more.
    Yes, they are.
    "Recently" is close enough.
Title IX complicates the problem, but I'm concerned about the fairness of competition.

Can't say, just like I can't say when women will get the government out of their choices around reproduction.

It could be longer than you think. Although there are certainly some promising signs, like FINA's decision to ban men in women's swimming, even though they did it the wrong way.

    No, here's what I asked:
Keyword: PROMINENT. And you gave Lisa Boscola. Is she your idea of a prominent Democrat?

No they are not. Give ONE example of a Republican in Congress talking about Trump. Just ONE!

I'm sure that it wasn't within the last two years.

Because they think they are women and the left accepts their opinion. There is no common sense to it.

It's more complicated than "the left"—an absurd, sweeping generalization worthy of talk radio blather—accepting trans women saying they're women. I'm not "left" and I'm prepared to accept them as women. That said, biological males should not compete in women only competitive sports where biological males would have advantage, period.

Translation: "I'm sorry, ma'am, but you're not allowed to compete because you were a man."

You are absolutely left. Certainly you understand that. Translation:"I'm sorry, sir, but are not allowed to compete because you are a man." Wishing to be another gender doesn't make it so. Neither does taking hormones or using surgery. Use common sense instead of ideology.

No, I'm not. I was nominated for the Board of conservative Canadian political party (born USA, added Canadian citizenship) by a dedicated pro-lifer who knew I was pro-choice.
I'm prepared to address and approach people as they wish unless it impacts others. I'm opposed to biological males competing women's events, but not opposed to referring to her as a "she."
    Back at you.

And herein lies the problem: you're prepared to accept them as women. Well, good luck winning the argument by accepting the premise of transgenderism and therefore totally conceding the argument to those who espouse it. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that's not the way to win this fight.

Former men (biological males) should not be competing in women's events.

Yeah, nobody knows who the hell she is. Sorry, but Lisa Boscola just aint gonna cut it. If a one thousand year old state Senator is the most prominent person that you have on your side, well... good luck. Apart from anything else she will just be called "old" and say that she is stuck in the past. The best bet that she and public-eye liberals like her have, is to join the majority of voices who are speaking out against this crap. And I think that you know who they are.

Kevin is simply defending himself against Trump ripping into him. How is this an example of someone obsessing over Trump? It seems that the only people who are obsessing over Trump are Democrats.

    Don't be cute.

They shouldn't be allowed to compete in women's athletic competitions where being a biological male gives them an advantage.

You're the one stuck in the past—a past where women put up with the state controlling their lives.
Who said Republicans are obsessing over Trump?

You're deflecting. Again, one thousand year old Lisa Boscola just ain't gonna cut it. The best bet that she and public-eye liberals like her have, is to join the majority of voices (many of whom are YOUNG) who are speaking out against this crap. And I think that you know who they are.

You referred to Republicans' "unwillingness to get beyond Donald Trump." What did you mean by that?

If they are a "biological male" then how the hell are they "FORMER men?" You're not making any sense!

She's 15 years younger than Trump.
if you think younger Americans are uptight about trans the way old folks are torqued, you don't understand youth.
They're unwilling to speak out against Trump for the same reason Democrats are largely silent about biological males competing against women. Polarized politics.

Come now. They're no longer males because of the like of hormone therapy and/or surgery, but they do have an advantage having bern makes.
