Multiculturalism not harmonious anymore? There is a difference between a comic relief intended to demonstrate fallacies in principles and analogies held as unquestionable authority, and violent actions intended to punish/silence free speech. Parts of Koran invite comedy and sarcasm, such as the description of Mohammed's ascent into heaven by riding on the back of a winged horse. Mohammed was not even a nice man, since he turned on and butchered the very same people who helped him initially when he was in peril and weak. Many parts of the New Testament were also a good Life of Brian material, especially the part showing how even the plainly obvious vanity of a supposed role model will still be interpreted by his fans/followers as spoken in the context of wider, deeper dimension. The Old Testament also had its clowns, such as Samuel or Moses, the first one a power-hungry sadistic prophet dead-set on establishing a theocracy, and the other a genocidal warlord who would wage bronzeage tribal wars wiping out all men, women, children and cattle.

And I will not judge or cast aspersions on any individual charged with the crime without first having considered the evidence available to the public and the judgement of any french court. I have great respect for the comitment of the french to the presumption fo innocence and was convinced of the validity of their restriction on the release of prejudicial information or photographs and the error of the Irish legal system which allows far more pre trial publicity i.e. the publication of pictures of handcuffed suspects.

However considering the circumstances I find it impossible to think of any other possible culprits. Bluntly it fits a lamentable pattern.
