Not only is this kind of language stupid, is also shows he doesn't have a faintest clue of what he is talking about. Out enemies would have to have such ignorance in the White House.

Fmr CIA Director Rages At Trump, "You Fool, You Fool"
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...sn&cvid=7f06f4edd1064ffa893b3e313a8ce567&ei=6
Trump added: “It’s like what I did with NATO, I said ‘we’re spending, we’re paying for NATO and we don’t get so much out of it.'” Trump added: “And you know I hate to tell you this about NATO, if we ever needed their help let’s say we were attacked, I don’t believe they’d be there.”

Foreign policy experts are criticizing Trump for his remarks, including conservative Jonah Greenberg, former editor of National Review, who wrote: “Grotesque and idiotic and a gift to our enemies. Even if what he was saying was true, by ‘realist’ rules it still hurts America to talk this way without getting anything for it. Not clever foreign policy, it's abject ignorance masquerading as seriousness.”

Retired U.S. Air Force General Michael Hayden, who was Director of the National Security Agency (NSA), Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), responded to Trump: “NATO came to our rescue after 9-11. You fool. You fool.”

Aside from being an amoral pig, Trump is simply ignorant of the world beyond Manhattan real estate.

As I recall the Secretary General of NATO PRAISED Trump for his efforts in getting delinquent memberships to pay their share. I'd take HIS evaluation of Trump over Hayden's any day.

The NATO SecGen was simply doing the needful PR work to keep our Toddler in Chief from having another tantrum. Hayden's remark reflects the view of just about everyone else.

And Hayden wasn't? Trump'd message caused member nations to pay up; what did Hayden's comment elicit?

Sure. The easiest way to get him to shut up and go away is give him some kind of compliment.

They had already made the commitment 6 year prior.

Hayden was one of the idiots who signed off on the Hunter laptop having all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation.

So he's rather blown his credibility.

Trump in politics is a bull in a china shop. The problem is that his fans really don't understand the issues or are so far gone that they want him to wreck everything.

They dont understand or just dont care as long as they have their political leader. Some people can't get through the day without guidance and leadership.

Complimenting him for convincing members to pay the dues they had pledged to pay but hadn't? Why is so hard to accept Trump doing sometime right?

He (T) truly is a big mouth uninformed, IDIOT. He has NO CLUE ...His simplistic (and childish) mind reduces everything to a baseline transaction.

That is ASSUMING that he has "guidance and leadership " to offer them. They blindly accept his word as "gospel".... critical thinking , be damned. They can't seem to see beyond his bragging about how great he (thinks) he is.

It is HOW he did it (and does it) that is in high question. bullying is not a diplomatic tactic. Bullying just strains relationships , and reduces their respect.

Sometimes just saying "pretty please" doesn't work.

Saying "pretty Please" is not the defintion of true diplomacy. Diplomacy is a lot more complicated than such simplistic terminology.

Did I hear Trump say about Ukraine: 200 billion from the US and 20 billion from the EU?

Trump had nothing to do with it.
"Under NATO commitments forged 2014 — two years before Trump took office, and coinciding with Russia’s annexation of Crimea — each ally has until 2024 to reach their goal to spend 2 percent of its gross domestic product on its own defense."

That must be why Biden is having so much trouble getting it to work.

Fake complement is sufficient, and in this case it was enough. Let Trump claim credit for some imaginary accomplishment, and he'll shut up. Everyone knows how to play him, especially those who have kids.

They were on target, so Trump's BS made no difference, except made allied wonder if US could be trusted with him in WH, and they are voicing the same concern now.

The quality of the "guidance and leadership " doesn't matter. Some people just need a "leader" to follow. As a matter of fact, when they don't have such leader, they feel like their life is hell, as is evidenced by the hyper-pessimistic commentary you see in the social media. As soon as the "leader" shows up, they think everything is great, even if nothing changed.

Owed to who? No one owes anything to anyone in NATO. People simply spend in their own militaries, and now with Ukraine war happening, they are spending more than ever, even thought the 2014 agreement also increased spending significantly.

Yes. He has NO IDEA what he is talking about, but his loyalists will repeat after him anyway. That's why the CIA, and Military call him a fool.

Gotta love libs on here pretending the sky will fall with any misguided word from Trump while simultaneously pretending all the idiotic dementia words pouring out of Biden on a daily basis has zero effect on anything whatsoever.

    What a joke

No one is questioning that - and it isn't what the OP is saying. He was pointing out the folly of his statement when NATO had already proven that they would back the US.
