~ More likely they are paid to support a narrative. Note there is never public debate/ discourse with the "experts" to prove any of this nonsense. The same thing happened with Covid-19 fiasco.

I can't quite tell if you're being serious or not. We have artificially pumped CO2 into the atmosphere and the excess is the problem, not CO2 itself.

Sorry but who thinks what?

Just for the record WHO exactly (and I am not counting any of Faux news nudge nudge wink wink so called “news broadcasts” is actually suggesting “eliminating” CO2?

I mean there is hyperbole and then there is sheer out and out twaddle

    https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg3/downloads/report/IPCC_AR6_WGIII_SPM.pdf

Want to point out where it states we have to eliminate CO2

I know - makes you despair doesn’t it? I mean if there was even one scientific fact in the twaddle posted it would make worthwhile but half the arguments on this thread would make the most back country redneck say “Hang on a minute - that ain’t right!”
I swear there are some who think that EVs look like this

They have obviously never seen anyone with end stage emphysema with high blood levels of CO2 - but I do agree it is not actually the CO2 that kills it is the shift in the body PH caused by the high CO2 but then dead is dead

Not in countries like England where they are unused to dealing with hot weather

Not all old people have children or living children. Millions of people in hot countries survive that. England is not a hot country, at least it hadn't been. A smaller percentage of buildings have air conditioning.

Before about 2005 I would have said that the odds were 50% that I would not install my air conditioner during the summer. But I have installed it every year for the last 6 years. I can tolerate 2 90 degree nights with little sleep but it is really aggravating beyond that. Or maybe I am just getting old.

    "Global Dimming"?

That was a BBC Horizon episode that aired in 2005, though I didn't see it until years later.

It is about the particulate matter that we put into the atmosphere that reflects light from the sun by collecting water molecules. Consequently it reduces some of the effect of CO2.

We are doing too much contradictory complicated bullshit.

Why does the MSM not report on all the dire predictions for the world that fell by the wayside as the old world keeps on spinning and rotating and giving us its regular cycles in our weather.

Yes to humans because all plant life is 100% dependent on CO2. I suppose you think you can live without plant life.

Libs: "We need to ban CO2 because it's a waste product and we've been told by big brother it causes global warming".

I most certainly am not. Several years ago there was a heatwave in France, which of course happens with some periodic regularity, the young folks took their children to the beach, a perfectly sensible choice, but, left their old folks at home and they died, I don't remember how many but a lot of them.

According to some Leftists, that was on us, does that make any sense to you?

You seem to be blaming us. So I ask you, where were the adult children of these English aged, and why did they leave them in these hot homes? It was only in the low hundreds and only for a couple days, are you claiming that with a little good sense and effort that they couldn't be saved?

The Dust Bowl was due to MUCH more than just a hot summer, which was ancillary at best. The main problem was the deep plowing practices breaking up the hardpan which had characterized the Great Plains stratigraphy for centuries and thus liberating trillions of tons of ...dust. This was coupled with a dry/wet cycle placing the plains beyond the 15 inch isohyet but only when considered as an average over 60 years. Even this would probably have not caused the final catastrophe had farming practices not followed the land contours and so increased the gullying which was carrying all the topsoil away when it did rain.

Thus we learn that farming is a complex engineering endeavor not always best left entirely to farmers.

None at all. Old people should always be left alone to take care of themselves under any circumstances Waddaya think they are, elderly or something?

Someone with your view is more likely to experience the preventable loss of an elderly loved one that someone else who is exercising care and effort to care for them, and I don't think that blaming a guy in Texas for their death because he holds a different, and perfectly reasonable, view is particularly rational.

Could be. I get by for several weeks every summer in triple digit heat with a swamp cooler, I wouldn't ask an elderly person to do it, I think that would be dangerous, but, if I left them there and they died, I would blame myself for not taking better care of them, I wouldn't blame a guy in Texas for having a different point of view on long term climate, that's just stupid.

They don't have weather forecasters? Are you claiming that these deaths are unpreventable?

I took care of all my old folk just fine, but it was certainly with very little if any help from conservatives, in Texas or elsewhere. Now that I'm old myself I'm noting the same tender regard to me that was paid to my mother all those years ago

Conservatives never change. I got mine, now gimme yours too

It seems like you have some anger and resent me toward those that do not share your progressive views, that's pretty common with some folks. Probably the best thing we can do is look for areas where we agree and seek to cooperate, as, that's the only way we have the numerical strength necessary to affect policy.
