The problem is that the original Christians didn't believe in Hell, Hell was added later by the Catholics as a means of crowd control. Hell was a pagan belief, that after we die we go to live in a sub world under the ground. Christ himself believed in reincarnation, he believed he was the reincarnation of Adam, the Father of man, the Son of God and the Holy Ghost. He believed he was the only one who could make amends for the sins of Adam. The majority of bible translations don't mention Hell at all and those that do mention it very little.
Its not true that Jesus believed that He was the reincarnation of Adam. He is the second Adam or the New Adam, but that's a different thing than saying He was the reincarnation of the first Adam. Adam was the beginning of the first creation, but Jesus is the beginning of the New creation.
Of course, blame it on God. Yet you take very few steps yourself to end such conditions as the picture portrays. Secular governments and secular lifestyles of the wealthiest people are what causes such problems. Take that notable atheist Bill Gates for example. He has grants available for just about any type of educational programs, but he will not donate even one penny for any religious cause, even if that religious cause is to stop conditions such as your choice picture displays. The United States, once dubbed the richest nation in the world, yet children within the streets of this nation are still starving and homeless. Yeah.... it is the fault of God. LOL If no one else will say it, I will. God is not capable of interfering with that realm known as the Free Will of man... and it is that Free Will of man which leads to such conditions that you have displayed.
There is no "hell," or devil demon of hell, in the Old Testament. Those ideas came in later with pagan Roman contact. The OT has Sheol - which is not a hell, it is where ALL the dead go to await final judgement, and Sa' atan, whom is following god's plan testing people, - and if found wanting - he stands beside god and presents the evadence.
Ahh... the good old book of Job. Funny thing, when I read that story the last time, God asked Satan in verse 7 "Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of [their] feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings [according] to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. Job 1:6 ¶ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that [there is] none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? " That would show that Satan is not standing at Gods side casting blame on people ... In fact, God had to make an inquiry about Job in order to get Satan to talk about Job. You need to study more...
Actually the presupposition that God exists - does not in any way presuppose that "God" is the god of the Abrahamic religions, or for that matter - ANY religion. No it isn't. All religions claim to be the RIGHT one. The religion where one is born generally determins what religion one is. People can then choose to join another, or none. Religions being around - does not mean they are from God - or even that a God exists. We do not know that these words are from any God! They are just words written by men - as are all other religious texts. Most religion's texts say they are the true word, and others are false.
Yeppir... you are right about that. However, the presupposition still states that "God exists". Throw whatever label on it you desire... it is still an existing God. Now you KNOW every religion on the face of the earth? Wow. No wonder you don't have enough time to spend hours on an internet forum arguing religion ... you are too busy promoting yourself. Atheists being around proves that there is an attempt to prove that God does not exist. Yeppir... just like the works of Darwin, Aristotle, the mythological Socrates, and many many others... just words written by man and therefore they mean nothing. Sounds like the Atheist chant. "There is no god or gods because we say there is no god or gods."
LOL! Why should he give to religious groups, most of whom use a portion of that money to pay passage/lodging/food for missionaries, and another portion for religious material so they can proselytize, leaving only a portion for the people it was intended to feed and clothe. "Bill Gates has pledged to give all of his £30billion ($58billion) fortune to charity - rather than leaving it for his children. The founder of Microsoft, who steps down from his post next week, said he wants to make a 'positive contribution' to the world. He has promised to transfer his money to the charity he has said up with his wife Melinda, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which funds health and education projects around the world." Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-fortune-charity--children.html#ixzz1fpJiFTSV And he has already given BILLIONS to charity!
Oh did I strike a nerve with you? Do you think that those 'charities' will not do as you accuse the religious organizations of doing? Do you even realize that with about all of the charitable organizations a good 80%% of the proceeds received are expended on administrative costs? Get real. Your hangup with Bill Gates, has got you showing your true colors. To you it is all about the money.... Are you a member of one of the hopeful charities?
Presupposition for an exercise like this - does not in any way prove a God actually exists. With only a couple of exceptions - all religions claim to come from God - and that God - is the right one. LOL! Not so - however what is the difference if you both try to prove the unprovable? They are just words written by man. Man trying to understand the universe and his place in it. Interesting that you have to ADD Atheists in - and go off the subject! The reply was to RELIGIONS saying they are right and ALL others are wrong! The reality is that not one of them knows if they are right or wrong. One can think they are in the right religion - but that obviously is NOT proof of that particular religion being true.
LOL! And your reply shows once again how you try to twist things. YOU brought up Bill Gates. I supplied you with the facts.
Well, lets look at how twisted Bill and Melinda Gates are. Bill proclaims he is an atheist. Well and fine. What I am about to display causes me to have to extend my public apology with regards to what The Bill Gates Foundation has contributed to. At the same time the apology is extended, it is shown that Bill Gates is either stupid or ignorant of what his organization is involved in or that he truly is not an Atheist. "The Hope for African Children Initiative will provide funding and technical resources to local organizations, caregivers and religious communities. The resources channeled to these programs will enable them to expand and coordinate their efforts to provide needed services such as family support, HIV testing and counseling, succession planning, and educational support." "What We Do Not Fund The foundation is unable to make grants directly to individuals. The majority of our funding is proactive and made to U.S. tax-exempt organizations that are independently identified by our staff. (Tax status definitions) Please keep in mind that although your project may appear to fall under the guidelines of what we fund, the area of funding may not accept unsolicited proposals. (Glossary of terms) Why doesnt the foundation fund individuals? In compliance with IRS tax laws, we only accept proposals from 501(c)(3) and other tax-exempt organizations . We are unable to provide funding directly to individuals. Please check our list of organizations that may be able to provide you with additional guidance or support. Examples of areas the foundation does not fund: Direct donations or grants to individuals Projects addressing health problems in developed countries Political campaigns and legislative lobbying efforts Building or capital campaigns Projects that exclusively serve religious purposes" Money contributed to the Hope for African Children Initiative is shown to also support 'religious communities'; which money, even if it would be for the exclusive religious purpose of feeding the children, contradicts his organizational statement of not providing funding for "Projects that exclusively serve religious purposes". Feeding the children from the funds donated to a religious community is an exclusive purpose of a religious community.
I don't like catching myself in errors. I owed it to Bill and Melinda to make such a public apology,,, coupled with another truth about Bill and his Atheistic approach at making contributions to 'religious communities'. The richest Atheist making contributions to religious causes... LOVE IT.
You may have read the Bible but you don't understand it because the devil is mentioned in the Old Testament. He's not called the devil in the Old Testament but he is mentioned. He is mentioned in the first book of the Bible.....Genesis. He's the serpent that tricked Eve. In Revelation Satan is called that old serpent. Genesis 3:1-5 (ASV) 1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of any tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat: 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as God, knowing good and evil. Revelation 12:9 (ASV) 9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. Satan is the old serpent that deceived Eve.
Because our words are just that ... words... the words offer no PROOF of anything that the words represent. Just like the words of Darwin and all the others that were mentioned. Words are not PROOF.
I do not see Ing claiming to speak for God by claiming that she knows the "Truth" of scrupture because of her daily conversations with God. It is those folks who that claim such thigns that are decieved IMO.
You call yourself a Christian, and you don't have daily conversations with the Holy Spirit? What specie of christianity do you subscribe to?
I have no problem with folks having daily conversations with God. What I have a problem with is when people claim to know the Truth of Scripture on the basis of these conversations which is = to speaking for God. The Pope does not speak for God, nor the Imam, and neither do you. Folks who make this claim are committing the blasphamy that Jesus describes in Matt 24 IMO.
No! It is not speaking for God, it is God revealing some things to me and me simply relating those things to others. No where have I attempted to usurp the authority of God. You are simply having a delusion regarding what is happening with me. You cannot prove me wrong therefore you attempt to ridicule me and call me a blasphemer, and spew other venomous remarks in my direction. That is between him and God. It has no bearing on this conversation. I also have not claimed to be the pope. I have already (several times) stated that I do not speak for God.... and even now you make the same statement, that I do not speak for God,,,, yet you keep saying that I am speaking for God... see highlighted text above. Those two conflicting remarks of yours, clearly shows that you are suffering from some huge degree of confusion. You know the Bible does say that 'God is not the author of confusion'... so you might want to put some emphasis on finding out why you are confused. Matt 24 is a relatively large chapter. Precisely what verse or verses does that alleged comment reside?
I have been through this with you in excruciating detail. I have provided exact verses to you and explained their meaning. I, and have shown you the historical meaning of "the awfull horror/abomination of desolation" Jesus explains further what is meant in Matt 24 and other verses .. false profits that will speak in his name and so forth. I have explained to you (and showed you the Bible passage where) where "only Jesus" was given the authority to speak for God. A claim to know the Truth of scripture on the basis of conversations with God is "Speaking for God". If indeed God does talk to you directly "the only way one can know the Truth of Scripture beyond all doubt" then you would be able to answer simple question in relation to Biblical events and themes. The Pope is claimed to be the "emmisary of God" and presumed to know Gods will directly. As such he is believed to be "Speaking for God" Anyone who claims to "know Gods will directly" .. from the horses mouth so to speak .. is acting as an "emmisary of God" Jesus is the only emmisary of God and he states so explicitly and warns against false prophets who assume such a position. When one claims to know the "Truth of Scripture" on the basis of direct conversations with God one is claiming to be an "emmisary of God"
