BS. There is not one pie to share. Everyone has their own pie. YOU are solely responsible for the growth of your pie.

There is only one pie. The economy is only so large and only increases in size at a certain varying rate that tends between .5 and 4%.

Well that's a contradiction! And Hotdogr is correct, there is no limits to wealth only limits on peoples imaginations and drives to succeed. the 99% obsession with the 1% money is a testament to their failures.

BS. My uber-rich neighbor is not, in any way, impeding my own journey to wealth. Not one rich person in the country is making it more difficult for me to grow my wealth. My accumulation of wealth is not affecting you, in any way. My pie is growing because I'm an enthusiastic and skilled baker, who works tirelessly to grow my pie.

It the 1% owns 50% of the wealth and the 99% own 50% of the wealth and the economy grows at 2% but the 1% eats all of that growth, then the pie slice for the 99% shrinks.

Over time that becomes extreme as we see in the world today.

It's truly amazing and entertaining to read what purely brainwashed minds regurgitate from their socialist teachings.

I can't afford a 747 at the moment. But I can afford a Lincoln Towncar. I could easily start an airport shuttle service. No one will get in my way.

    How about this eye-opening fact.

We're not sure that you're entitled to what you've earned and we know for a fact that the wealthy are not entitled to all they've managed to accumulate.

Try using and thinking "CURRENT WEALTH" move yourself away from theory of finite and you will find yourself in the realm of reality with a infinite amount of possibilities. Even the most hardened leftist can create new wealth if they turn their energy towards creation instead of destruction and embracing failure!

If you do not derive your wealth via the protection, infrastructure, and regulation that society provides, you owe society nothing.

HERE IIT IS. I took a heart operation from the PEOPLE, so, after I pass, the state will TAKE back from MY estate. This is kind, as they allow me to live first. SAME with the rich. They take, from us all. So, the state allows them to live in splendor, and after they pass, the state takes back all the things they enjoyed FROM US. They used the courts, the military, the roads, the infrastructure in general. IN FAR greater measure than most of us. IT IS NOT fair to put that money to a relative, who then is not only not a productive citizen, but again, uses far greater than their reasonable measure, and depriving the FOLKS from what they extended to the rich whilst living.

Many of the super rich, warn us about the end of our meritocracy, as we strive for favored birth status, instead of efforts to succeed.

Entitled? Not exactly the best frame of words here. I direct my estate. Folks enriched by my estate are not "entitled", they are beneficiaries. There is zero inherent entitlement in that.

The more interesting question is why would the state be entitled to anyone's holdings?

Complete BS. Have you not watched what the Federal Reserve or the US Treasury do? They print money, morning, noon, and night. Wealth production is infinite. Unless you put an arbitrary shackle to it.

Of course- when wealth is passed along to your children, it is usually because you chose to do it- so it is still your money doing what you intended it to do. I fully believe that you have that right, and further- that as all that wealth has already been taxed, the fact it transfers within the family should not expose it to more tax.

On the other hand, labeling the possession of money as wealth can be misleading. There are people who gain money as inheritance and build on it, making greater things than what their parents did. The Koch family for example inherited an oil business valued around 50 million- but today, that company is possibly the largest privately owned company in the world, operating many industries with world-wide operations. The inheritance behind the Kochs has been multiplied thousands of times- along with employment and economic strength for us all. On the other hand, there are those who inherit wealth and see nothing better to do with it than party- and run through the inheritance like crap through a goose. Most who build things and have wealth to leave for their heirs don't approve of that, and often adjust their wills to leave fortunes to the children who will continue to build and use the wealth wisely. I applaud those that do.

Your ability to earn is limited far less by what you inherit than by how you think, including your ambition and values. Look up how many of today's entrepreneurs started in garages, and you will find all kinds of famous names. I started my first business with less than $100. Now, my current company (the last of seven) does business in over 100 countries- and of the six left in my immediate family, three are self-made millionaires, yet we didn't have any inheritance to help. It is the desire to succeed that drives successful people, not greed for money. Having money in the beginning actually removes some of the motivations- as in, since I have money; I don't need to work.... While others have bright ideas, and want to see them work.

Money is just a way of keeping score- measuring success in a way. Most truly successful people pursue an objective of accomplishment much more than money, which is why they don't quit as soon as they acquire wealth. Warren Buffet is 84, his partner Charlie Munger is 93- and both enthusiastically love what they are doing; building great things. That drive and accomplishment gives them what we might call an emotional paycheck; it can't be taxed- and unfortunately, it can't be inherited. However, it is available to all, rich and poor, if the individual chooses to value it. I know a number of multi-millionaires personally that started with absolutely nothing. Motivation, not money, is the foundation of success- and through that, that wonderful emotional paycheck, and yes- wealth.

On the other hand, an uber-rich person may surrender $24 million in taxes to "society" each year, but receives the exact same societal benefit as the person who pays no tax at all.

That's the problem with the leftist, "We're" :)

UN-Fortune-ately the leftist arrogance and failures to achieve seems to have made them hypocritical to the point THEY believe THEY have the right to choose ownership, EVEN above family..

Thank you Shiva for the perfect example of the working of the leftist mind, very luminating indeed!

Having surplus money always provides a means for making more money.

Donald Trump has whatever wealth he has today (estimated to be somewhere between hundreds of millions of dollars in net debt to perhaps billions of dollars in net wealth) because of the money he inherited from his father and not because of any management skills of Donald Trump.

Lacking surplus money always prevents the means for making more money.

Under compensation for employment, where the "price" paid for labor by the employer is less than the minimum pragmatic "cost" of providing the labor (i.e. funding of the employees basic living expenses), prevents the making of more money.

Only the person earning more than a living wage, where they have surplus money to invest and the time to capitalize on that investment, can make money. The person earning less than a living wage has neither the money or the time to earn more money because they're an economic slave of their employer.

Except for those pesky artificial regulations of local commerce meted out to the legislatively protected enclaves like "taxi drivers" ...... Democrats love their little "favors"... As for airlines, Ryan Air, Jet Blue, Southwest, et al are proving that they can, and do compete. Liberals are wringing their collective hands trying to keep them from being successful. Why? Because they "granted" air travel rights to their supporters. Legislatively enforced regulations to ensure that startups couldn't compete with their constituent/supporters. This is how democrats work. It's why markets are so skewed. Ask Democrats why they insist on this model.....

One of the good things about progressivism, give or take whether you want to consider this issue socialism, is that we see healthcare as a human right. I could argue, to counteract the nature of this thread that Republicans, conservatives, and nationalists, you are not entitled to deporting people or banning Muslims. We all are human.

I am about mid way in the food chain. I have no feelings of claim on anyone elses money. It is the lazy back sliding drones that wont work the seem to think they are entitle to my money and any other peoples money that work and pay taxes.
