The fetus is not a parasite, but it is parasitic in nature as the woman is the host keeping it alive. If anything goes wrong with the fetus it will directly affect and endanger her health and life. Whether or not the womb was made for bearing children or not is irrelevant. She has the choice to use it or not if she wants to, after all, it is still her womb.
Would not want to endanger anyone's health or life, would we? And I suppose the fetus does not have any choice in the matter. She is sharing the womb with her unborn child. They are in the same boat.
Without her life the fetus will die. So yes, I'd hope you'd want to protect her life. And if she has an abortion or suffers a miscarriage she can always have another pregnancy, hopefully one that she wants. They are not in the same boat at all. The fetus is in her boat if anything and she has the right to evict it from her uterus to protect herself if she feels it's necessary.
The woman would rather hog the womb all to herself, even though she is not the one whose life is dependant on it. Or, not uncommonly, she might never be able to have another pregnancy again as a result of her abortion. By law, a landlord has to give the tennant 45 days notice before the tennant can be evicted. Besides, most of the pro-choicers are the same ones who believe property rights should be curtailed to give special protections to discriminated groups of people. So why would this same philosophy not apply to the womb also?
But her life IS dependent upon what happens within her womb. Her life can be endangered. You've been misinformed, it IS UNCOMMON for a woman to suffer complications. Such notice is necessary to give the tenant time to find another place. The zef doesn't need notice.
No Abortion would be equivalent to suffocating a weak person by putting a pillow over your own head... Absurd concept.
I think not. Even countries with very restrictive abortion laws have an exception for the life of the woman. Only Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Holy See, Malta do not, in case you are looking for a society that "values life."
and why is that? if it was just an evil parasite invading the women's body then why wouldnt you love abortions the same way we all love getting rid of germs or getting a tick out of our skin...
Germs outnumber human cells in the body many times over... I'd say it's their body. who are you to kill them off?
I'm tired of hearing this pro-choicer excuse. The vast majority of abortions have absolutely nothing to do with the health of the woman. Even when the woman has certain medical complications, the factors the increase the woman's risk of childbirth tend to be the same factors that increase the risk of having an abortion; either way there is potential for a massive drainage of blood from the uterus. In other words, the woman is facing medical risk either way.
What type of mother would evict her own little child from her home? Such a mother would no doubt be hauled away for child abuse. By law, if a mother does not want her baby anymore she is obligated to at least leave the child at a hospital. If she abandons the child in a dumpster, she can be arrested, as well she should be. What type of mother would take her little baby into her boat and then decide to kick the baby out in the middle of the ocean?? The mother brought the baby into the boat when she made choices that led to her pregnancy. Even if the baby was already in the boat, the mother is still obligated to at least row the boat to shore and bring the baby safely to land.
I don't LOVE heart surgery, but I am glad that it is available to those who need it when it is necessary. I don't LOVE any kind of operation or surgery, that includes abortion. But sometimes these medical operations or surgeries are necessary.
Abortion is NOT necessary. (the rare instances when it actually is are very very rare) Perhaps from the point of view of a woman who has absolutely no regard for the life of her unborn baby. Why should she be allowed to make life or death decisions for the unborn life within her, when it is obviously apparent that she is not acting in the best interests of that life other than her own?
Anders, now your suddenly a psychologist. How would you know what a woman feels? I think when you trade in your testicles for a vagina, then you might have some credibility. Until then it might be best for you to not try to tell a woman what to do with her body.
It must take an extreme ammount of selfishness to be willing to sacrifice the life of your child for six months of convenience. (I say six months because many women do not get their abortions until after 8 weeks)
you don't like heart surgery? I do. its why my grandmother is still alive and well today. what's not to like about heart surgery? obviously no one ever wants a surgery. but when it saves a life then how can you hate on it. now why dont you feel this way about abortion? maybe theyres a faint voice in the back of your mind talking to you..... you should go ahead and listen to it.
Abortion is necessary more than you'd like to believe. Also many women do regard the life of the fetus. They realize that often times it's about quality of life. If she cannot give her child the quality of life she believes it deserves she will not bring said child into this world. Because it is her life and body that are at risk. Without her the fetus would be nothing, without her the fetus will die too. You must have the woman first to have the fetus. Also if you truly are so sickened by women who take their own life into account before that of their fetus then why do you want them to have children to begin with?
Who loves to have heart surgery? Who wakes up and says, "I am so looking forward to having this heart surgery today! Yippee!" It's the same with abortion. Nobody is looking forward to the fact that they have to have a medical operation performed on them. Didn't say I hate it either. But I see why it is necessary. Nobody likes having their chest cavity sliced open and nobody likes having objects penetrating their cervix. Sometimes it is necessary however. Maybe I just view abortion as a necessary surgical procedure for some. If I ever need an abortion for any reason I will endure the procedure and have one. You can speculate all you like but this is what I really think.
