You know … Since “Glock” has been a sport, and hung in there for the fight … I might help him out a little.

I think this is more closely associated with the point he is trying to express.

He is trying to say that the South is inherently racist … Because we have African Americans down here.

    Am I right Buddy? [IMG]

Then we seem to have a disconnect. Do you approve of dems racism or not?

I was alive and in Chicago when LBJ spit up his racist quip.

You are not now and not once in this thread, been right.

And for the record, it's not a matter of "hanging in there" it's a matter of constantly having to correct your numerous incorrect assumptions. But you should adhere to the saying, "you know what happens when you assume.

Okay. Then I find it odd you previously called one of my posts 'idiotic' if I remember correctly when I linked the racist quotes by democrats.

Oh ... So the South is not inherently racist ... Or we don't have African Americans down here?
    Which one is it?

I am getting better at playing your silly game every second.

    Edit:
Let me just go ahead and answer for you ... "No ... You're wrong and always have been wrong".

There, I saved you the time.
Told you I was nice ... and anything I can do to help out.
Uh, you want me to start answering the other people for you?

Posting what Democrats actually say and think is only idiotic because the people quoted are idiots as well as racists.

No kidding?! I was, too! In fact, I was a young teenager, living in Gillespie County, just about 14 miles away from LBJ's ranch! Yeah, back in that day we were all Democrats and all big-time Johnson supporters (although very few people had any use for Kennedy, as I recall). Would it be OK just to ask what county or city you lived in, or at least what college or university you went to? You know, it's strange... for a long time now I have wanted to like you, even though we're pissed off at each other all the time. Sounds like we've covered a lot of the same ground in roughly the same time period. Totally different WORLD now, isn't it...?

So where does one go to live in this country where racism doesn't exist?

Wow... you must have been the only liberal in Lubbock, based on what I've always known about it, and surrounding towns, like Midland, Odessa, Abilene, Amarillo, etc. But, from what I remember, although we Texans loved LBJ, we didn't like "them funny-talkin', back-East rich bastards" like Kennedy. I can still hear the old timers talking about LBJ like he was the finest thing since sliced bread, but they had no use for Kennedy, saying that old Joe Kennedy had bought the presidency for his son! They always referred to Joe, the family patriarch, as "that old rum-running son-of-a-*****" because of his alleged skill at smuggling huge amounts of liquor in from Europe during Prohibition.

By 1970, I was in Austin, going to the University of Texas, and I was very liberal myself -- believe it or not. With thousands of other Austinites, I marched in the streets against the Vietnam War and for civil rights! But, man, in a place like Lubbock, they'd have hanged you from a football stadium light pole if you'd have done either one of those things. Hell, in a place like Lubbock, I'd be surprised to learn that there were more than a couple hundred Blacks in the whole town. And, if I'd have lived in Lubbock, I'd have become bitter, and brief, too. You are definitely a survivor of having lived in one of the most challenging parts of the entire country, and my hat's off to you for that, even though we don't exactly, uh, like each other. But back in those days, I'll bet we could have smoked a couple of joints, drunk Vin Rose from a bota bag, and had a hell of a good time....

I'm sure you liked San Fran better than Lubbock! I have always loved going there, jumping in a rental, and going down to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park outside of Santa Cruz. And nothing compared with eating whole crab at a place the locals always went to called Sabella & La Torre in the Wharf district.

Oh, well, back to the trench-warfare... truce is over. Now, what were we unhappy with each other about this time...?

I explained my observation, at length. You have responded with one of your typically vacuous one-liners, full of venom, but devoid of anything of substance. And so we go on, locked in unending verbal combat... (sigh!). Life isn't alway easy being me,but it must be pure hell being you....

Anyway, got anything to say about Reverse Discrimination (a.k.a., "affirmative action") against White people? Got any response to my query about what would probably happen to a White guy if he went into a Black neighborhood and started hitting on Black women? No...? I didn't think so. Just insert some kind of one-liner, jac, or better yet, just forget about it. You aren't interested in having an intelligent, thoughtful two-way discussion about anything. You never have been....

Ever heard of the fact that those who win a war gets to write the history? I have shown you time and time again how the north has always been just as, if not more racist than the south, but yet you chose to look at only on source for summary of American history.

You mean pointing out both sides of the story or how both cultures have been wrong without putting the blame squarly on one group or another?

Which geographical location of the nation wanted to re ship them all back to Africa in the same manor they arrived? And yes, it was that long ago.

"Proud culture of racism"? Yes, there are some, a very SMALL few, but that is not the perdomninant sentiment of the people of the south anymore. And that culture is all over the country now. Racist dont just live in the south for the weather.

You call it "showcase" when just one black is put on the news that represents the conservatives. Thats funny cause its pretty much showing how you think that putting one on the air for the right is like showcasing that one black on the right like he is the only one. Maybe the black conservatives are on the air because they deserve it. And maybe they get fired because they deserve it too. What the right does is based off performance and merit, unlike the left who keeps any black in a position of power so that if they ever lose favor, the left wont be called racist for firing someone that doesnt deserve to be there anymore.

"Get over it"? Get over the lefts racism towards any minority that sides with the right? Can I just tell every black to get over or being called the n-word? Its not that deep, the left is racist and very shallow to think if the blacks who prefer conservatism over socialism are race traitors.

Telling me what I dont understand is a pathetic excuse for why you cant come up with facts and stats. How are the conservative blacks being "used?" Its all about race for the left, you say its about representation then hate on conservative blacks for being conservative and sticking to their policies. Nothing in your rants shows you to be anything more than a hypocritical puppet.

So you are saying you are ok with Obama pandering to GE and giving them loads of tax breaks. Are they a corporation ran by blacks? The left and right BOTH are controled by corporations. All those failed green energy "investments", ran by whites who made MILLIONS off Obama. George Soros, WHITE. GM, white. What has Obama or any democrat done to make black business owners better? What have they done any different than Bush or Bush Jr or Regaen other than increase the welfare and handouts?

Who is denying racism doesnt still exist on either side?

What it was, maybe. But what it is, you need to show some proof of that some time maybe?

Show some proof of that being the case now. If you try to use history, it will be thrown back at you from this post. Show us in todays time frame how you come up with that type of mentality that the south is more racist than the rest of the country. Shoot, go back up to 10 years to make this point if you can.

WOW, you just went there? This whole thing about the south being racist has been based on nothing but leftist emotions. No facts, no stats, no proof. But to actually say that to a woman, you are completely a bigot.

You're right, no proof what so ever.....That's probably one of the most asinine statements posted.

The post by Blacksand where she posted the black congressmen is more proof than is ever needed in this thread. Every name she posted that was a federal congressman was either a former slave (which went to the north to get educated, ironic) or moved away from the south, only to return after the war to run for office to help the plight of the black people. AND every one of them was Republican.

There is no more proof that can be presented to show you the light, because any open minded person can see how these events would lead to the south being inherently racist.

    * I think it is funny you want to call someone a bigot, when I had no idea she was a female. What does that say about what is in your thought process. LoL, just outed yourself.

The north didnt care about slavery. The people of the north certainly didn't. Lincoln didn't care either. The fight was for control. The north didnt care, that is why a draft was needed. That is why the unconstitutional income tax was needed. The north wanted to conquer the south and keep them from leaving the union which would have made the price of cotton and many other crops skyrocket. The south didnt want to conquer the north, that is why when they expelled the northern agressors, the south didnt follow them all the way to DC after beating them in the beginning. The north knew the only way to spin what they did in a positive light for future generations was to rewrite history and make it seem like it was all about slavery, but it wasnt. Simply it was about a cheap economic source for agriculture.

It may have been all a show, but the north played the game better.

The actions of the south spoke for themselves, and actions speak louder than words.

You have yet to post any.

Right, I read. I find it funny that no black won an election up north though. How was that explained away? Its kind of like how the house had 2 black congressmen after 2010 elections, both republican and both from the south. hmmmmm.

But yet you refuse to post them.

She just posted not to many past before that that she was female.
