Right, like how they abolished slavery and set all their slaves free right? Oh, that was only because of the 13th amendement was ratified thanks to the help of the southern republicans....who happened to be black.

You go through all these posts and hate how the right showcases blacks and makes it just a show, but then comend the north for the way they showcased blacks and yada yada yada. Hypocricy, thy name is Glock.

We already shown how the Jim Crow laws were just copied and pasted from the north. We already shown how the north never freely got rid of slavery. We already shown why the south isnt racist to the degree libs live to believe, anymore so than the rest of the country. You want to make the south out the be oppressive and racist in todays standards, you need to show what new laws they pass to be considered oppressive.

When you dont show the same disdain for a liberal progressive openly saying what you accuse Ron of saying, you are giving them a pass.

The south took the black code laws and enhanced them. You want to word play and double speak, but then claim ignorance when shown the difference between the two. This issue had been more than settled as to why the south is considered inherently racist, and no matter how much YOU don't want it to be, that is a stigma that comes from the south's effort to keep the status quo.

"enhanced" them is now what you are going with? That was done away with 50+ years ago. What is it with you and getting passed the past? Cant let it go? Cant figure out that people have moved and migrated around this country in 50+ years to figure out that those of the old south are not in power nor dominate the scene anymore but yet you still hold onto the thought that the region is still more racist than the rest of the country. Sad really.

You keep saying Jim Crow is the same as the black codes, I explained why it was different...now you want to counter with "it was in the past, get over it"......

You are being either intelligently dishonest or willfully obtuse, or both.

Thats not the subject, stop changing the focus. Why do you lambast Ron with no proof, but when its a liberal, you have no coment?

No, actually that was Johnny-C who said that. I was making the point that those people are either dead, moved, or are just out numbered by people that dont think or act that way anymore, but you still claim they do. So the point is, you show me how the south is still the same as it, and the rest of the nation, once was 50+ years ago. If you cant, then maybe you need to change your mind set about the south and start getting past your prejudice views.

Sigh....I never stated the south was the same as it was 50 years ago. I am showing why people think it was inherently racist.

Please do try to keep up.

You are wasting people's time... trying to sell the idea that the "South" is somehow now 'okay', where it comes to ethnic relations. Bottom line... it STILL sucks down there; quite a lot.

I'll see you in ten years or so. Right now, it's nonsense to promote the notion that the American "South" is somehow doing fine where 'race' is concerned. It's futile to even go there.

Things need to be improved; that is all I need to know.

    - - - Updated - - -

Slavery was fueled by RACISM; that racism has not faded away fast enough. It is still with us as a nation and is particularly noticeable in the "South".

East Texas Baptists Quietly Promote Racism, Homophobia And Ignorance - 4/27/2013 By Angella Davis

In an article on Alternet originally published by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Appleby Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, Texas is brought out into the light of day and exposed for their ”old-time Biblical (mis)interpretation used to vilify black people and justify slavery and laws against racial intermarriage.”

I won’t spend too much time examining the belief system other than to tell you that much of it is rooted in racism, proposing that all black folks came from Noah’s son molesting him in a drunken stupor. If you’d like to study up, feel free, as these preachings are available on their website. Of course this is completely NOT backed up by the current translations of the bible, but that is neither here nor there. It truly is none of my business what they believe as long as their preachings do not lead to violence against women, children, and minorities. Sadly, in East Texas domestic, race, and gender based violence appears to be a fact of life.

The United White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan have been ubiquitous in this area, recruiting far and wide, according to a story in KTRE News Lufton TX, April 2009 by Holly Nees. “”It’s not a violation of the law, other than littering, you know, on that part, but we don’t feel like there’s any threat,” said Angelina County Sheriff Kent Henson.

It appears that racial violence in this neck of the woods has been alive and well for generations. Notable deaths include James Byrd Jr., whose horrific dragging death in June of 1998 contributed to the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. In a challenging Psychology Today article titled “Does Religion breed racism,” a study connects religiosity with racial bias but asks if religion is really the problem.

To put this all in perfect perspective, I’d like to direct you to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, otherwise known as Pastafarianism, whose wikipedia page states that “Pastafarians have engaged in religious disputes, including in Polk County Florida where they played a role in dissuading the local school board from adopting new rules on teaching evolution.”

Pastafarianism is no less ridiculous than the Appleby Baptists, or even the infamous Westboro Baptists, but the fact remains; you and I can believe whatever we want to believe, practice those teachings however we choose, as long as that worship don’t impinge upon the rights of the rest of us. We must be ever vigilent because belief systems that mangle biblical truths will be known by their fruit, as in Mathew 7:16. If the fruit of Pastafarianism is logic based education in a school system that has no business teaching religion anyway, I’ll take a bite out of it any day.

Freedom of religion can be a hard pill to swallow when churches promote a warped, biased and hateful world view. But what can you do? As distasteful as it is, we must be at peace with the knowledge that we will never change their minds as they will never change ours.

Liberals are generally angry people to begin with. In their dark minds, there are always injustices and wrongs to be righted because their handlers tell them as much. And they are the consummate hypocrites and idiots. The only reason they claim to help those who are 'disenfranchised' as they wish to 'seek justice' for them is because they only wish to get their vote. Nothing more. As soon as those they pimp and pander to outlive their usefulness to the slimy left, the libs throw them aside
like last weeks garbage. Just look at how the idiot responded to the racist quotes by dems. Instead of denouncing the racist quotes, he attacks me. Liberals are vile and immoral scum.

As they are appropriate responses. If someone wishes to start a thread with the narrow minded view that only the south is inherently racist then the examples from the north you just mentioned is a fair response. Is it not?
