It's apparent from your non-replies to the questions.

    Quit trolling.

I said that I never considered any other gods ?
Odd how you invented that all on your own.

This probably debatable. Your god was probably chosen for you. Allow me to explain.

Originally, religions and gods were regional, geographic if you like. As humanity expanded and civilisations pushed further forward, they took their religions and gods with them, and the older tribal religions were superseded by the more advanced society's religions. There was a mighty expansion of Christianity during the Age of Exploration, 16th and 17th centuries, via Christian Europe. The Americas is a classic case, colonised by Christian Europeans.

The Malay Peninsula and Indonesia were exposed to Arab traders, so the people of that region adopted Islam. SE Asia was exposed to Indian traders and explorers (Angkorians), so the people of that region became Hindu. In the 13th century, Sri Lankan (Ceylonese) traders made their way to parts of SE Asia and brought Theravada Buddhism with them. Today, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar are now Buddhist because of the adoptation of Buddhism from Sri Lanka.

In Laos this is happening today. As the Lao Loum (mainstream Lao) population is expanding into tribal areas, Buddhism is slowly taking the place (often under duress) of the animistic beliefs of the hill and mountain tribes.

In short, if for example the Americas were colonised by India, America would be Hindu today. If the Americas were colonised by Arab traders, you'd probably be reading the Qur'an and praying to Mecca.

The spread of religions (and gods) has nothing to do with divinity but more to do with human migration, commerce and exploration and the adoptation of religions from other cultures.

yeah I got it, but you have no personal knowledge from which to construct a debate concerning my "choosing", so it is not "debatable" for you.

I think he is just talking in general. You are also correct, there are many exceptions.

Yes,, I have no personal knowledge of you.

For all that I know, you may have been exposed to your god by your devout parents, attended a Christian boarding school, your peers are devout Christians etc etc.

The entire point of my post is that people choose their religions and gods from what they are exposed to. A muslim in Saudi Arabia will choose Islam because he/she is exposed to Islam. A Hmong in the mountains of Laos will choose animism because these are the beliefs he/she is exposed to.

America is predominantly Christian, hence you've been exposed to Christianity. If for example, America was predominantly Islam you'd be exposed to Islam and would choose that religion.

You still didn't get my point did you?

So, at the risk of repeating a question you have been asked and dodged 4 or 5 times... what lead you to choosing your god?

Can you elaborate? What was it about the god you chose that sated your desire? And what was the criteria used to contrast and compare?

If you don't want to debate then don't post. It's a shame you can't answer a few simple questions.

So you wish to reply to the OP and not converse further? Then why are you wasting time here?

Because you are simply trolling and/or do not know how to answer.

    I accept your white flag.

You still don't get my point. What will it take to spell it out to you? Possibly you lack any real comprehension skills.

Please re-read my post #54 very carefully. You may find it enlightening:whisper:

    Well, the OP asked this:

    1. Theists, do you deny all other gods but the one(s) which are worshiped in your religion?
If so, how do you know yours is the only 'true' god and faith?

    2. Have you conducted an investigation and concluded that, for example, Chaac does not exist?

So... apart from your mere 'desire' to believe that one of these countless possibilities is the exclusive, existent one... what do you have to back up your claim?

You're not being asked to prove your faith. You're being asked why did you choose your god? Entirely different.

So, why did you choose the god you chose? You said desire. So why did your god sate your desire?
