faith is belief in something that can't be proven.

Just to add. Christians don't have a monopoly on god, gods or all things divine.

    To think so is arrogant.

You're apparently not reading, try again:
You're not being asked to prove your faith. You're being asked why did you choose your god? Entirely different.

So, why did you choose the god you chose? You said desire. So why did your god sate your desire?

Ok... so ANY god will do (or not do) for you or anyone else then? Sounds rather confusing. :omg:

Nor apparently for yourself... are we to take it that your faith's 'appeal' was merely a matter of taste? Care to expand and test them taste buds with the flavors of other gods?

Oh no, is this another lame "prove your god exists" ploy ?
    That is a useless exercise.

you folks keep rehashing this same old lame ploy.
    Quite entertaining.

How many prove your god exists threads you gonna champion ?
They are pointless, but you still don't get it.

You really need to get a hobby.

    :bored:
Find a new line to troll with...

But it seems this topic is close to your heart, there are several posts which consist of more than a snarky one-liner. Still not any substance to 'debate', though...

Ah, in that case, thanks for gracing my topic with more than the usual sneering one-liners for a change, even though it's still just plain disingenuous trolling. :D

Of course you can .. perhaps Earth was one Gods experiment and other Gods have similar experiments on other planets.

There are many other examples that prove your logic flawed.

So why would anyone want to worship the God of another planet considering we live on this planet ?

If you are a Christian, your arguement is flawed. As Christians believe, God created the heavens and Earth,, hence the entire universe including all planets.

Then wouldn't the god of planet abc be the same god as the god who created the Earth?

There's an uncountable number of gods just in mythology alone... never mind all the other religions added onto that.

Organized religion believing theirs is the only true one is inherent. A basketball team that doesn't believe they are the best is going to be a (*)(*)(*)(*) poor basketball team. A musician who doesn't believe they are the best need not make music, for it will surely be not worth listening to. And now I have been sucked into the most worthless of debates yet again. (*)(*)(*)(*) you "unread posts"! Theism verses atheism is like arguing "tastes great!" "less filling!" "tastes great!" "less filling!".

Of course there is a preference as to which one is best, when one worships Shiva but not Ganesha, for example.

But monotheistic religions go one step further, they claim their god is only one which exists. That's a bit different from your basketball analogy...
