The abortion issue should be handled in the way the Dobbs decision left it. Each state should pass its own laws.

A pox Lindsey Graham for trying to make it national issue and the same for Joe Biden and extreme pro-abortion Democrats who would kill live babies.

Lindsey Graham drives me nuts. I agree with him about 95% of the time, but the other 5% makes my skin crawl.,

A court saying that a person has no right to bodily autonomy should terrify everyone but it appears to make you gleeful.

I have never said it doesn’t have a right to life — a women should simply have control over her own body. It’s fascinating that zero of you can ever even acknowledge there is a sentient aware human being that you are invalidating due to a growing bundle of cells that may or may not be sentient.

As long as they can gerrymander districts and void the will of the people there is no choice.
What to see that choice in action? Hold a referendum

Making a religious argument which is where many of the pro-forced birth groups get their ideals — spilling your seed is also a sin as is bypassing gods will through pharmaceuticals in the case of ED drugs.

Would you be ok with the states regulating these?

I take exception to that allegation.

They can't stop women from aborting even if they manage to intimidate most doctors. Women have access to abortion pills (misoprostol and mifepristone).

    https://www.wholewomanshealth.com/abortion-options-for-banned-states/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwqc6aBhC4ARIsAN06NmP_wJTeEdo_J57DFdY8uIFNt7lTrqJhC-5I2zfUc5JAvF-CWGsPRtgaAs8WEALw_wcB

Women are helping women to travel to other states, even Canada and Mexico.
DAs in an anti-abortion state? I think you're right—it would be foolhardy to think they'll play nice.

There are just too many women who can't get their heads around government telling women they have to be pregnant and give birth. There's no reason to let that happen because women—even a minority of women—have it within their power to stop it.

Where there's a will there's a way. I am at least delighted that so many charitable organizations are stepping in and offering women transportation and the entire package of aid in order to facilitate their traveling to an abortion-friendly locale to have the procedure and have it done safely.

Abortion is not unreasonable under some circumstances, even in the final month.
That's probably where opinion sits now, but I think society will just evolve into leaving it to women and their doctors.
Who will rapidly evolve into leaving the question up to women,

    Already done.

You won't stop women from getting abortions any more than leftwingers will successfully grab guns. How about we go for a trifecta—no gun grabbing, leave abortion up to women, and end the war on drugs by making drugs available at cost, or even free, to addicts.

Yeah, sure—and pacifists object to using their taxes for the military, green types object to building more freeways, etc.

You're shamelessly propagandizing the forum. You know gas wasn't $8 a gallon.

    upload_2022-10-22_11-40-38.png

Biden isn't responsible for most of the inflation above 2%. This is inflation in other countries...

Violent crime is increasing, but Joe wants more police.

    Way too much propaganda.

You keep ignoring the federal abortion law...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partial-Birth_Abortion_Ban_Act

You also keep ignoring women's rights, but that's another matter.

You could go blind and not be able to locate women.
There is no such thing as an unborn child.

Half of the destroyed lives are future women. You keep ignoring that.

You also keep ignoring this in the decision - Gonzales v. Carhart, 550 U.S. 124 (2007):

'The Supreme Court's decision upheld Congress's ban and held that it did not impose an undue burden on the due process right of women to obtain an abortion, "under precedents we here assume to be controlling", such as the Court's prior decisions in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.'

    No, they didn't.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partial-Birth_Abortion_Ban_Act

    Human being? Yes. Person? No.
So what? We have a First Amendment.
It failed to do the right thing in1973 when it didn't say laws banning abortion violated a woman's right to control her own body.

More reasons to leave the decision up to the pregnant woman.

That's why, in the end, there will be no law banning abortion.

Fake news the law only passed constitutional muster based on:

'The Supreme Court's decision upheld Congress's ban and held that it did not impose an undue burden on the due process right of women to obtain an abortion, "under precedents we here assume to be controlling", such as the Court's prior decisions in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.'

Roe and Casey are both overturned.

You'd be surprised how many people support no gun grabbing, no laws banning abortion and making drugs available to addicts.

You were wrong—SCOTUS did not rule only states can have abortion laws.

YOUR OPINION is that an unborn child in the womb is just a "growing bundle of cells". Millions of others say it is a human being with all the rights of its larger human mother.
No one can determine for certain who is right and who is wrong. So, as in any good democracy where issues are indeterminate, the VOTERS will decide on a level below the central government. This is not a religious argument, although religious and non-religious folks often line up on opposing sides of the issue.

Gerrymandering sometimes happens... always has and always will. But like double parking and pickpocketing, we try to limit it and usually do. If states want a referendum, they are free to do so. If you want one in your state, get active politically and see if you can help swing it. The court, after all, said the VOTERS should decide the issue. They didn't specify that it must be through the legislature. I'm sure a referendum would be fine.

I'm not sure what "spilling seed" has to do with killing the unborn. Apples and space shuttles. Same with little blue pills... apples and space shuttles... those pills don't kill anyone.
