I really wish someone would press Trump on mass shootings and how he would deal with them.

The reason I say this is because after any mass shooting that made the news in his term he passed or advocated for gun control. I want my fellow gun owners to see his reaction. I believe Trump is horrible for our right to bear arms. I’m almost amazed no one has asked him this after he the record of gun control and gun control comments he made during his presidency.

 

How many less people would be dead if those teachers WERE armed?
Also why no armed security at the schools? We spend billions on illegals but can't defend our children in schools?

FYI…There are a number of schools that have armed security.

 

You need to understand that Trump's plan, if he gets elected this time, is to stay in power forever. So if anybody believes that this could be impeded by an armed population (and Trump might be one to believe this), then they have to believe that keeping guns out of the hands of people will be one of the things that will be on his mind.

I haven’t seen anything that indicated he would try and stay in power. However I do believe he would think he could make a third term because knowing his capacity to understand the constitution, he could very well believe he’s entitled to two terms…. Again… but I haven’t heard him make that claim so it’s pure presumption. However I wouldn’t be surprised.

 

Really? Not even the fact that the only thing that keeps him out of jail NOW is that he's running for President? If he's elected, what do you think would happen when his term expires? I wasn't aware this was the fantasy forum. This is why we have a thing called term limits. He's also getting up there, I give it about 6 years before he's mental midget status like OUR CURRENT PRESIDENT IS RIGHT NOW. The worse case scenario for you folks is at most, 4 more years of trump and a lot more money in your pocket and your kids safer.

Trump will NEVER become a dictator. We The People and our security forces will not allow it. But his "bloodbath" pipe-dream, could DEFINITELY become reality. Most of the blood from the idiots like that lady that got herself killed for him at the Capitol. But bloodbath nonetheless.

 

I don't believe in putting firearms in just anybody's hands. Especially where children are involved. IF, we are going to arm teachers they need to have extensive firearm, legal and crowd control training. And they need to be screend to be sure they have a stable personality for carrying a firearm; similar to that which police officers are subjected to. It's a lot to ask of a teach to be a good teacher and a quality armed protector.

Putting a firearm in the hands of an untrained teacher is a recipe for disaster.

Since most mass shooters have a death wish I would say its hard to stop, even for a political mastermind like Donald J. Trump. What would deter someone who is planning to kill themselves after the deed is done anyway? Hell, some of these mass shooters even plan to have suicide by cop gun fire. I’m more concerned about our leaders knowing it. Trump unilaterally banned bump stocks. Not only that he also forced people to either turn them in (confiscation) or destroy them. All done by him. No congress at all.

He also said he was a fan of taking guns first and due process second. Essentially completely doing away with a check and balance of law. Literally giving government the capacity to take guns with zero proof of breaking laws first. Forcing you to prove your innocence before getting guns back rather than them proving your guilt before taking them.

Teachers already do crowd control. What they don’t do is carry the capability to neutralize an active shooter or to even defend themselves or their kids against an active shooter.

Why can we kill a bear? Because we have the means to kill one with the right tools. However we can not kill a bear without those tools. If we refused our natural right to bear arms bears would rule us along with some other more dangerous animals. The same goes for these killers. Without the tool to stop them you will always live in fear of them.

 

Armed security officers in schools are not new. We had two of them at all times when I was in high school in the 60s. And I was privileged to live in a low crime area. No gangs ... in fact, other then a few fist fights, there was no violence, so I'm not sure why they employed guards. To keep us from stealing library books?
