I wanted to be happy but it's just too depressing

For a long time, while it was still a hypothetical, I thought once Trump was finally charged and held responsible for his many illegal actions that I would be elated and excited.

Now that's it's finally happened, I don't feel that at all. I just feel sad.

Sad for the country, sad for the world. Sad that we even have to go through this. Sad that there were enough folks who should have known better but voted for the man anyway. When you elect a scumbag, you get a scumbag, it should come as no surprise to anyone.

The whole thing is just depressing. It's necessary, but it's depressing.

And to make it all worse, our current president could easily end up in this same place because of his actions with his son. So when the Republican gain power(because the Democrats will never hold Biden responsible just like their Republican counterparts wouldn't hold Trump), it'll be their turn to go after a president, and they may end up being right to do so.

So depressing. It seems like it should be easy to avoid electing morons and criminals but folks seem to go out of their way to do it. They even revere them as heroes and concoct fanciful narratives about how they are fighting power, etc etc etc that sound really really good but only if you view them through a lens of absolutely no scrutiny whatsoever. If that doesn't change, nothing else will either.

 

The corruption is starting to sink in. Huh?

 

Perhaps if you could see that the legal actions against Trump are politically motivated, you wouldn’t be quite so depressed. There is good reason to be concerned about what the Democrat controlled legal system is doing. They are the true threats to democracy, not Trump.

Trump is an egotistical buffoon. None of his schemes to reverse the results of the 2020 election could have succeeded because he had neither the legal system nor the police power behind him. The worst crime he committed, if there was a crime, was to hold that stupid rally on January 6, which predictively got out of hand.

The crimes the Biden family have committed are far worse. Hunter collected millions of dollars from foreign governments, many of which are our enemies. He was even brazen enough to travel to these places on Air Force II with his father while he conducting this illicit trade as many as 14 times. You can believe that Vice President Joe knew nothing about this, but doing so would take a large dose of naive thinking.

Those entities paid the money because they thought they were buying influence. When Joe got on the phone with his son, it didn’t matter of all he talked about was “the weather.” Here was “the big guy,” the second most powerful politician in the United States, taking time to talk to you. That impression was greatly enhanced by the fact that the President of the United States had given Biden the foreign relations responsibility for that part of the world.

 

Inmate P01135809 had a history of lies deceit, profane language and immoral acts, so people knew what they were getting, but supported him anyway and here we are, looking at his mug-shot. His loyalists say they will vote for him even if he is in prison, so nothing has changed. He could murder someone and his apologists would claim any charge against him is "politically motivated". Heck, he said it himself, that he would kill a person, and people would support him anyway.

But not all Republicans condone his crimes. There is a movement called RAT = Republicans Against Trump, who see him for what he is.

 

Maybe when you get an interest in the activities of the Biden crime family, your assertions will be more credible. We need to dump Biden and Trump and start fresh. If the choice is between those two in 2024, that won’t happen.

Your party needs to dump Biden, and mine needs to convince the Trump cult that they are on a fool’s errand. Trump is unelectable, because, at the moment, he is the most unliked politician in the United States. Biden should be competing with him for that distinction.

 

I think some folks on the Left, already knowing that this corrupt as hell, are starting to realize how this same thing could happen to a politician they adore and it's scaring the living **** out of them.

 

He won't be in prison, so there won't be any problem voting for him.

 

What saddens me the most is a majority of Repubs want to see him get re-elected because they find him taking a wrecking ball to the country so satisfying.

 

A congress that would sooner fund money for a foreign nation then it would its domestic needs? Yeah, a country like that does still need a jolt in the system. And Biden, far from a jolt, is an old cog in the old system.

So long as the system does not abide to its national requirements to all 50 States of the union, we will continue to look for outsiders to stir it in the right direction.

 

None on the left, with half a brain, like Biden. He is the true “useful idiot.” He will give lip service to most radical Democrat ideas because he doesn’t know where he is most of the time.

They are under the mistaken notion that none of their alternative candidates can win. The education system has turned close to 50% of the population into to Democrat robots. They will vote for anyone the party nominates, regardless of how stupid, corrupt or senile they are. Biden is the prime example.

 

Whether you are willing to admit it or not Biden has done a good job for the country. Would I prefer a younger, more vigorous prez? Yes. Would I be concerned about the fate of the country should Biden be re-elected? No. Can't say that about Trump.

 

Our current plight is self inflicted, unfortunately.

The GOP ENABLED the Xtofascists to take more and more and more. Now they control the SCrOTUS and the House and multiple Red states.

They OVERREACHED with Inmate P01135809 and since he would do whatever they asked we find ourselves mired in this predicament.

Now comes BOTH the Bad and Good News.

The Bad News is that we have to work our way through this the HARD WAY. The trials won't end when the RINGLEADERS are incarcerated because there are many others yet to be indicted. This could take up to a decade to ensure that ALL of the insurrectionists have their day in court. We have already started this process.

The Good News is that this is a CATHARTIC experience for the entire nation. It will bring sunlight to the festering wounds that divide our nation. We will LEARN the appropriate LESSONS and take the necessary steps to PREVENT this from happening AGAIN.

Afterwards we will be a STRONGER nation because We the People will have UNITED to UPHOLD the Constitution and the Law of the Land, the founding principles of our nation.

I don't allow this to depress me because the ARC of HISTORY always bends towards LIBERALISM. Our current Xtofascism is TESTING our strength as a nation and I am CONFIDENT that we will prevail.

Many of those who first arrived on our shores did so in order to escape religious persecution. The banning of books, depriving women of their reproductive rights, hatred towards the LBGTQ minority, etc are all Xtofascist persecution.

We the People will NOT just roll over and give up our 1st Amendment rights to those who would use them for OPPRESSION and the destruction of our nation.

This is a painful and depressing period in our nation's history but the ALTERNATIVE is NOT an option.

 

I’m very thankful that with the influence of some people I respect, several years ago I gave up the idea government or politicians should have the kind of influence on me that could lead to sadness or depression.

Life is much more fulfilling when one has no expectations of politicians helping or positively impacting your life.

We have no influence on what Biden or Trump do. It’s completely out of our control. Therefore we should not let them control us. Not how we feel, what we do with our lives, etc.

My advice is to focus on concrete actions you can take to better your life and just shake your head and laugh at the clown show. Prepare yourself and your family to prosper no matter what the clowns from either party do.

Don’t let utter morons make you sad or depressed. You wouldn’t let a barista have that power over you. Don’t let politicians that are probably dumber and less concerned for your well being than a barista control your emotions.

Just my $.02 based on experience.

 

I don't have a party, and I think Biden will step down next year, so its a moot point. Hopefully a moderate conservative Rep like Romney, Kasich, Haley. Pence etc will run against a moderate Dem like Manchin. That's what I want to see.

I never said that Biden had a big following. The biggest pro-Biden demonstration I was from the first illegal aliens who crossed the border just after Biden took the Oath of Office. They were wearing Biden t-shirts and flying a Biden flag. The Democrats probably figured out that having illegals showing themselves to be ardent Democrats was a bad image for them. Let the illegals slip under the wire, then vote Democrat, quietly.

 

A progressive - liberal is never happy unless they are unhappy. That oxymoron is true because the essence of progressivism is to always look for and invent "victims" if necessary. Progressives believe that everyone is either an oppressor or a victim. There are no happy people in the middle.

 

Nope. Those of us who are feeling sadness about all of this are simply saddened by the fact that a once great country has sunk to this level. That such purported criminal activity could have happened at the hand of a sitting POTUS. That a country could vote for such a person, when all the available information of his past should have been an indication of what kind of POTUS he would be.

Leadership on both sides have demonstrated a rather troubled relationship with criminal behavior. They are quite sensitive to it, and yet, also find it quite useful. In leadership it's an extension of the D personality traits. (In the DiSC model) One side will come right out and tell you that they believe that criminal activity promotes power & privilege and so they fight against it using the only tool they know that promotes power & privilege.

Both sides will claim the other is terrible because they are terrible, while they are terrible because they have to be.

The only leaders that would not conduct themselves this way would be leaders that are not trait inclined to fill leadership positions.

 

This political mess has my head spinning. One thing that bothers me is that the persecution of Trump started the day he announced he was running for president. And it has been relentless ever since. Now he has 91 charges and 4 indictments against him. Is anyone that bad? One thing for sure -- if you go against the elite establishment, they will militarize the DOJ and the IRS and come after you. And our 2-bit media will join and start snipping at your heels 24/7. Makes me want to vote for Trump. Yeah, support the underdog and show the media and the elites that 'we the people' select the president of the USA.

The J6 cases began on January 7th when the investigation into the insurrection began. The NY case has been PENDING for a large part of Inmate P01135809 infestation of the Oval office.
