The citizens of Russia arnt laughing.
This was the justification for their moral high ground. The lies they have been told are starting to unravel.

At the end of the day semantics of saying "damn we were wrong bro" versus "we think we are in the right, bro" is asinine considering the impact on innocent lives regardless.

Guess that means you need to be damn well sure of yourself next time you get in the business of invading and occupying sovereign countries.

Nope. Those are the distinctions that separate civilized people from barbarians.

Kind of hard to call yourself civilized when the end result is killing/torturing and displacing innocent civilians...lol

Not really. War is part of the human condition. The difference is in why you fight.

:roflol:, so because you can't find an outlet that supports your bias, it means everyone is lying?

Ok well you need to understand that while I'm pro west and pro america, the rest of the world isn't going to share this view point.

Pardon me for jumping in, but there is no double-standard there, my friend.

Ba'athist Iraq violated the terms of the Gulf War I ceasefire agreement, thus resuming hostilities itself, and the Afghan government was responsible for hosting a terrorist organization that attacked the United States after it had repeatedly been told by the UN to expel that organization from its territory. Furthermore, the U.S. gave the Afghan government an opportunity to hand Bin Laden & Co. over but it refused. So, yes, the U.S. and its allies were justified in attacking/invading Iraq and Afghanistan, regardless of whether one agrees with the decision to attack/invade or not (a separate question which is a matter of opinion).

That's quite different than Putin's decision to invade Ukraine (twice) and annex its territory, which is something he hasn't been charged for (yet). His decision to invade Ukraine (twice) and annex its territory is also a violation of the Budapest Memorandum that Russia signed in 1994 in return for Ukraine surrendering the nuclear weapons it came to possess after the fall of the USSR.

Finally, Putin is being charged with committing a specific war crime that George W. Bush did not commit (the illegal deportation of children), so once again, no double-standard.
