That is not hard to do in an urban environment. Simply hide around the corner and as the tank passes toss several Molotov cocktails at it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov_cocktail Tanks are very effective in the open but not so in confined environments with limited visibility of the enemy.
Many urban streets are only 40-60 feet wide and a person can toss a Molotov cocktail a lot farther than that. As noted, in the open the tank has an advantage but not in confined spaces such as urban environments. Of course the gunner isn't going to pop out of anywhere because he'd be an easy target for a sniper with a 30-06. The tank is going to be locked down tighter than a drum with very limited visibility of it's surroundings.
I'd survive by being in Australia.......... well, unless the wildlife gets me. You'd all survive by being cowards. Even during WW2 most of the US military had to be drafted as people just weren't willing to sign up even after Pearl Harbor.
That is true because about 10 million men were drafted in the US during WW II. We can also note that over 6-times as many Americans volunteered for service in the US military compared to all of the Australians that served in the military during WW II and if it wasn't for the American military the official language of Australia would be Japanese today.
Unfair comparison as Australia's population in 1939 was only 7.1 million. Our 1 million in uniform though was a higher percentage of population.
Australia drafted men ages 18-35 and unmarried men 35-45 into the CMF in mid-1942. guess our nations are both full of cowards, huh?

Why was not collaborate and go along with the invaders not on the list, the best way to survive is join the invaders and not be an issue by not being an issue? Go to their friendhip centers, learn Chinese, get work from them and well get along you would then be in a good place to join the Communist Party and get some benefits. And the Chinese are not immoral monsters they would follow likely the Geneva Conventions and not want to hurt the citizens unless they had no choice so you want to be on the good lists not no list or a bad list. If things got so bad they could land on our soil that means we lost they have the manpower just in the womens reserves to match our entire ground forces that doesn't include regular troops. And neither side would use nukes on each others nations no one would win that. It would only be a matter of time.

That is true and it's also true that it would have been easier for the Aussies to learn Japanese because there weren't that many of them. LOL Serious, the Japanese would have had a tough time with Australia because the Aussies are a rather tough breed. Remember, most of them are decendents of some of the most violent and nefarious criminals in England.
Nowadays it's 20% with convict ancestors. Can't help you with the % in 1939 to 1945 though. The 1/4 of our population today who weren't even born in Australia would be drastically lowering that %.
I would take out my pepper spray out, and start spraying russians, north koreans, iranians, and anyone else who invaded america on the axis of evil. If I knew ahead of time, or had the time to escape, I would travel to Canada. If they get invaded for being so close to America, and because they have no military to protect them, I would then Hop on a ferry boat to England, and pledge allegiance to the Queen, feign a disability, and get on the british welfare rolls, while they protect me from evil.
