If you knew in advance of the attack, why not build large and obscured trenches so that the tanks nosedive into incapacitation? Why run? Or is that too much work for you?

You don't care which specific tyrant you serve, so long as you can beg for more of those tasty table scraps. Just remember what happened to the collaborator in the movie Red Dawn. You know, the kid with the really slow digestive system, the one who swallowed the tracker pill and still had it inside weeks later. (The movie did have just a few minor plot holes.)
That is bull! The woods are a more viable option than fleeing the country. So wilderness or a 1000+ mile trip? Which is safer.
What will cause a red dawn? Voting. An absolute majority of votes on a single party/presidential candidate will cause this eventually. Most people are still unaware in what for precarious situation they are/live currently. They went on with their lives after 9/11 and kept voting and listening via the mass media to 'their' politicians/leader figures and all the other media propaganda, and didn't listen to their own people. The coming 6-11 elections will be the point were the establishment will gain power because they will setup the biggest elections propaganda war against the masses ever, plus lots of Tea Party voters will be directed to vote for the republican candidate. The system needs a majority of the voters to vote to one day reach an absolute amount of power. If over sixty percent are going to vote 6-11 will be a sad day in US history. Lots of European countries are already politically compartmentalized, either a political split (in Europe ideological, the red and blue parties, are the large parties) or a large amount of votes behind a single party. The post 6-11 period is going to turn the US and Europe into red dawn (when the economy crashes or ends, will either be a hard or soft repeat of 1929, or another big event that will cause political change) The change that will occur is a tilt from voters from either democrats to republicans or visa versa, this will cause an absolute number of votes on democrats or republican presidential candidate. The only way top stop this political process is not give your power to this red system at 6-11. Less than two months to understand the situation. Not a single media will warn. Last changes to stop the people from going to cast their vote in mass are internet and flyers, and neighbourhood organisation and education.

Anyone who has served over 5 years in the US Army Infnatry will be able to survive any calamity. Other who have not had the training and skills to survive in adverse conditions will falter at the mere hint of danger.

Some are leaders, some followers, some are survivors and others are dead, some are free and the rest are lemmings. I have seen plenty of lemming pass thru the military. Some grow and others remain the same. It is all about attitude!
You know thinking about it I would probably remain neutral in the thing. Have some invading officers over for dinner and secure myself a good place within the new government.
That would mean your total acceptance and bending over to Big Brother. even if it means killing your own dissenting family members. you up for that?
So what is really different other than the level of extremes you have in the US today? Really what is so good about it. People are arrested and executed in the US every day and you know this. That Muhammad movie guy got busted, David Khoresh got it... Who the hell really has the freedom to be who and what they want in this country. You cant own land if you are old unless you can pay the tax! The state sells your information to marketing firms... Is it better to live an illusion of freedom or is it better to know your limits?

Well you know my family would have to go along with it. I am just sick of the duplicity of our leadership. 9/11 was a bloody nose (I had a friend in the pentagon that I have known almost 40yrs) that we really earned. Did we learn from it? No we are still doing what we did before 9/11. Americas day is coming unless we make some big changes. But more to the point here. What is better for my children? I look at the ME and Africa to see an example of it. If something like that happened would I want my children growing up as gun toting immoral murderers or would I rather have them working as part of a society where they can grow beyond the limits of nature?

Rooskies (or Chinese or whatever) invading....and a bunch of NRA/American Sportsman types fighting 'em off with 30-06 deer rifles.....j just as realistic as two 20-something girls coming to your house, on a rainy night, with a flat tire, and asking if they spend the night, and coyly saying "We don't need to borrow any pajamas, Mitzi and I prefer to sleep in the nude....AND warm each other up!"
