I'm convinced that only pot smokers support legalizing marijuana

Less harmful than tobacco? Do you people just make these things up while passing the bong around the circle? How is the (*)(*)(*)(*) that you suck right into your lungs unfiltered less harmful than tobacco? Heavens, I've heard everything now.

Saint, these are the same 60-65 year olds you see walking around with oxygen tanks saying it wasn't the smoking that ruined my lungs I have a (insert and excuse disease here). Its called denial and people do it so they don't feel stupid for poisoning themselves which is exactly what they are doing along with driving up our healthcare costs so we can help pay for their tanks and their bad life decisions.

You'll forgive me for not believing that. I'll continue to believe and strive for a world where people work together instead of bashing the opposition.

I don't use any drugs, including pot. I voted to make it legal. You assumption is without merit.

Is it possible for people to do drugs without it ever affecting me in a negative way?

Only, "original sinners" are claiming a potential seed bearing plant is Bad and not Good; a Bible says otherwise.

How unfortunate that society is not biased against the abomination of hypocrisy as being worse than even a crack addiction.

I do not smoke because it is illegal. If it was legal I would smoke it responsibly.

I support it because I have a dream of opening a cookie and comic book shop next to a hash bar.

I've got a pretty good sense of smell. I can't recall ever smelling a cigarette in somebody else's car. I can smell smoke on somebody's clothes ten feet away in terms of regular smokers. Maybe it's just windier around here (coastal winds).

I remember high school students at my school being allowed to smoke in school. I can remember smoking on airplanes. I can remember people smoking in restaurants, and how the non-smoking section of restaurants still reeked of cigarette smoke. It's a lot better now. Back then (late 1970s) 35%+ of the population smoked (and that was down from almost 45% in 1965) and now it's down to about 15% or so. yes, nasty smokers still throw cigs out windows. The difference is that there are a lot less of them. Life is a lot better for non-smokers now, speaking as a life-long non-smoker.

Maybe Florida is different than Massachussetts, might be the difference between a warm temperate climate and a cold climate. Yes, I see smokers. They are in their little smoking areas away from the rest of us--generally at least 50 feet from the entrance to the building. If the wind is wrong I may get a whiff, but nothing major. I have never had the experience of a smoker saving his smoke in his lungs so he could blow it in my face. As I said, I hang out in nice places, where people aren't that rude.

So you are saying that poison ivy and deadly nightshade are good?

Doesn't even remotely address what I was saying. And I don't think that a loving Creator intended for any plant to be rolled up in paper, lit on fire, and sucked into human lungs for the hallucinogenic effect. Don't blame God for the stupidity of man.

Where did he say we couldn't? I seem to remember reading he gave us all the seed bearing plants and herbs to use. I suppose you are the JUDGE of that?

None of that excludes wisdom in it's use. If you don't believe that's so, then feel free to have some grated hemlock root with your salad. Just dowse it generously and as the Russians say, "Pryatnaga Apeteta!"

Yes since it was brought to the Americas it grows wild here now. Pretty sure it is not illegal though. I never said it was wise to use weed. I try to make my children eat and drink health recommend they never smoke anything or drink alcohol even when they grow up. That is completely different than banning a plant that is less harmful than alcohol and far safer than the fancy salad topping you recommended I ingest.

Oh good. We're moving away from the assumption that God intended us to use creation in unhealthy ways. He never intended us to ferment it, smoke it, snort it, or cook it up and shoot it into our veins. I think that's abundantly obvious.

Of course if you are talking direct harm. If you are talking indirect you are making a ridiculous argument.

Is it possible for people to get out of bed in the morning without ever affecting you in a negative way ? Never mind driving a car, skiing, boating, drinking alcohol and so on.

I do not smoke pot, but support its legalization simply because I support maximization of liberty for all.
