NOW, with the 'religious lingo'....you forgot "I'll be praying for you"....so what happened to your bull(*)(*)(*)(*)? speak!

If you have a problem with my words then you must really have a major complaint with the apostle Paul's, who as you know wrote 1/2 the NT.

Paul wouldnt fit in with YOUR 'sleazy grace' gospel where personal responsibility for one's state in life if a result of their own poor judgment and performance requires them to be on life-long welfare as opposed to those temporarily down-and-out as to no 'choice of their own.

Again, back to my 'truck stop' example of scam artists: you & hubby need to plan a trip to the States where I will provide you with a list of truck stops 'inhabited' by societal 'leeches' that you can shower your liberal European $$ on and 'make yourself feel good,' complete with self-back patting!' As for me, I prefer to be the 'wise steward' of what God has blessed me with, not a 'worldly mark!' And, the able bodied 'who do not work, shud not eat.' (per scripture)

Also, your Church of Universalism, by the time you take out the OT, all the prophetic epistles, Paul's writings for the most part (that misogynist!), and of course Revelation, must call their bible the 'Bible Pamphlet."

And, back to the end-time charismatic man who is called the Antichrist: he thru stroking men with what they want to hear (tickle their ears), is not the 'Damien of the movies' which has helped desensitize and even mock Rev and those who await the 2nd Coming) will sucker those of that generation with 'good words & flattery' and be looking for ppl like YOU, again 'holding to a form of Godliness!'

Btw, I've heard that walking backwards for a day or two will untwist the bunch in one's panties...try it & report back....

It seems logical and reasonable, if not just common sense to observe that when straight sex is repressed to the vanishing point in the culture, homophobia is also extremely overt.

You sickening heterophobia, feminist, bias against factual discussion is an impediment to rational thinking because it places your mere personal "Feelings" before reason, facts, and logic.

We have the factual evidence by comparison with Muslim nations, like Iran, that there are no homosexuals there, neither are there scantly dressed sexually provocative flirting women.

Clearly, ".... open homosexuality always accompanies the straight promiscuity which produces the single mothers and the violence prone children they raise fatherless."

As you point out, though the Black community (which produces single mothers) may hate gayness more than the white community, but, they are actually producing more of it, percentage wise.

I believe that both the white and black community, and the women, and even the gays do not like, or desire, the unintended consequences which I have been pointing out here, on this site.
Blacks may hate gayness more that whites, but their sexual behaviors produce more Gays %-wise.

As are you, defensiveness and tagging names on critics of what is actually unfolding here is not a reasoned response, but merely an appeal to taking sides, right or wrong.
It is the condition of the two Americas now, that reason has been dismissed, and one swears blind allegiance to either a liberal or conservative view.

'White people are less likely to be gay': Poll reveals African-American community has highest percentage of 'LGBT' adults in U.S.

Gallup survey, based on interviews with more than 121,000 people, showed that 3.4% of U.S. adults were lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT)
Highest proportion in black community, at 4.6%, followed by Asians (4.3%), Hispanics (4%) and Caucasians (3.2%)

Poll found 44% of LGBT adults were Democratic, and 13% Republican

You are taking a side in this discussion and are no longer interested in the truth, but only facts which allow you to continue maintaining the position that sexual mores hurt no one when they break down.

If you deny the child abuse which we see in our current events, ignore the poverty and break down inside all our major cities, refuse to examine the reality that confronts the tax payers, and desire only to perpetuate the sexual license in disregard to the welfare of the society, discussion with you is futile, and an exercise in social pathology.

I couldn't help laughing at the insinuation that there was or would be less poverty and child abuse in societies with repressed sexuality as a direct result of that repression. Because, you see, it is such an unimaginably stupid thing to suggest.

Of course you did, and you gave up any fair and honest appraisal of the real effect of your feminism and general support for a sexually promiscuous young adulthood of 14 years for the younger generations we are raising together.

Worse than people like you, who just become deaf and blind to this other side, against their selfish desires, urges, and personal power obtained by the sexual revolution, are those who agree with me, then stop reading, too, and go on without joining the complaint.
They are the good men who let evil prevail by doing nothing.

Which is what you are doing, too, of course.

I am not so sure about the poverty.

The child abuse is factually available to any honest reader of the Stats and Studies.
But, poverty of the adults receiving all the welfare benefits today is actually a figment of the System that grants them more and more benefits.

I would guess that it pays to be sexually promiscuous as far as the single mother is concerned.
It also immediately grants a base income for doing absolutely nothing, allowing the free time that once only the very rich had available to them, and a degree of self determination and educational support that can assure a great advantage over those fools who start life broke.

But I am directing you ignorance to the social consequences that first effect the children of these adults who prosper at their expense. Then I point your attention to the harm done to the other half of society, which is going broke nationally and has the expense of granting these advantages to this other half of the citizenry.

And, I add on the cost of the violent crime and the cost of incarceration of these same abused children, who time and again, in those same expensive courtrooms, appeal for mercy because they were actually abused by the adults.

Don't report these people, because we need them to try and defend their views.

The liberal approach is to appeal to their own "choir" by tagging the factually based conservative and ethical responses to their cultural behaviors, and hence name call them, such a misogynist, homophobe, racists, and by such means, avoid discussion.
The good people among them, who are by and large uninformed can be affected with fair discussion and an education in the other side of the coin toss they have made up their mind about.

Hence when they engage in an open debate, the Truth will out.

So you can’t compute that I can condemn your message in the strongest of terms while I can still have loving concern for your soul? Well, I can both.

Not quite, especially if one doesn’t count the pseudoepigraphs, whose existence I’m sure you’ll heavily deny. But don’t worry: Not only is Paul undoubtedly the most influential theologian in early Christianity, but the Epistle to the Galatians you quoted is widely considered to be authentic. And yes, in this letter Paul was quite angry with the false Priests who told the Galatian congregation that they’d have to follow Jewish law if they wanted to be Christian. So if I take his example I ought to be angry when somebody tries to tell people that you have to be a died-in-the-wool neoliberal Republican to be one. That’s right, yet in the light of other scripture I’m reluctant to wish God’s curse on you.

    Galatians 2:9-10:
“James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews. All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.”

You know James, Peter and John would be those ‘commies’ of whom Acts 2:45 tells us that “they sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need”.

Your problem is that you eagerly eat the rhetoric that the majority of welfare recipients are just lazy slackers who don’t want to work, which is plainly wrong. Before you risk giving to someone you deem unworthy you’d rather throw all of those who are in real need under the bus. See, it works the other way around with me: before I risk throwing a person in real need under the bus, I’d rather risk that someone who isn’t in real need abuses the welfare-system that my taxes paid for.

That you keep quoting 2 Thessalonians 3:10 out of context aside. Hubby and me have already been to the US. We've seen the trailer parks and the shocking poverty along the road. And we didn't even dare to go into the ghettos that would be the equivalent to the European ones that now see rioting.

The picking and choosing you do is bigger than the weighing and evaluating I do, and unlike you I try to apply consistent criteria under which I decide on which of two contradicting Biblical statements I base my theology. One of them would be the “surprise factor”. It’ not at all surprising that a 1th century Jew should come across as misogynistic to my modern ears. It is surprising when a 1th century Jew comes across as feminist, such as in Galatians 3:28 and when talking about women in leading church offices such as Junia and Phoebe and Priscilla with great respect. I would say social conventions play a role in the ‘misogyny’ whereas God inspired the latter.

We’ve been through the book of revelations before: Imho you and the rest of “the end is nigh”-crew are using it like fairground fortune tellers use a crystal ball. That does not only show your lack of respect and understanding towards this piece of 1th century apocalyptic literature, it’s also complete hogwash and has been throughout the ages. Alas, you guys weren’t the first and you probably won’t be the last Christians to dwell in such nonsense, which is probably why Luther had reservations towards the Book of Revelations: Its style can easily confuse people.

And of course it has never occurred to you that there are constant trickles of propaganda whispering what you want hear into your ear? One of them would come from advertising trying to turn you into a good customer striving for worldly possessions, another other from politicians who play on your lowest instincts while sugar-coating this message with empty patriotic flowers of speech, in which “self-responsibility” for example is just a code-word for “it’s ok to be a selfish bastard who doesn’t care about others and I’d rather have a tax-break than paying for pay for youth-centres and educational programs in problem-districts”. And then of course there the false priests telling you that the former embody God’s will. All of these propagandists serve Mammon rather than God. Judging by your vile posts the anti-christ has already got you by the balls. Judging by some of your more decent ones there’s still hope for you.

No, it's called truncating. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that your post did not literally consist of "whole lotta bull(*)(*)(*)(*)", and anyone curious could click the little arrow and read the full post. I just didn't feel like taking up page space with that crap. Meanwhile, you're still not addressing the points relevant to the thread - why not?

You have a bizarre definition of "lucky". Dave'll talk to anyone who will listen to his insane drivel.

So you seriously believe that there are no homosexuals in Iran and that's why you'd like to install an Iranian-style theocracy in the US in which you could give other people orders on how to live their sexuality and could make transgressions punishable by death?

    Wow! :icon_jawdrop:

Just like the facts available showing less shark attacks when less ice cream is sold. The point behind that, by the way, is that correlation is not causation. Keep dodging that if you want but it's true.

1st of all, the 'societal scam artists' at truck stops, and the panhandlers at the Walmarts/Targets et all in this country are young folks preferring to attempt at 'shaming' good ppl for 'gas money, etc.' rather than going out and getting jobs and an earning an honest livelihood. They are able-bodied and along with their smart phones are being totally disingenuous with their 'hard luck' stories. OWS exposed them as the hypocrites they are!

Again, you act as if 'wise stewards' such as I and do more than insinuate that I dont care and dont give---again, a disingenuous liberal false accusation, as I have 6 charities that I regularly give to! And for those who are truly in need, the Salvation Army (one of my regular charities) will take care of them---but wont 'enable' them in their dishonestly!

So let me see, for you to NOT be a hypocrite, I assume that per this scripture (and not from that dastardly misogynist Paul) :

    Luke 3:11
"If you have two coats, give one away,"

Obviously, you have given away one of your 2 TV sets, and one of your 2 cars, 1/2 your clothes closet, shoes, etc.

You are the classic 'bleeding heart liberal' who has no common sense ... but 'good intentions' (which is what REALLY counts) leading to unintended consequences' of welfare/Govt dependent cripples who are 'enslaved' for the rest of their lives!

    And, btw, the 'Messiah' that I follow was raised a carpenter, worked with wood and w/o power tools, walked everywhere He went, & carried a cross after days of scourging;

Where the 'messiah' of your liberal universalism is but a soft, squishy, effeminate Pillsbury dough boy!

The Antichrist is said to 'make war with the saints and wear them down." He is looking for those of the 'global religion of socialism' as a setup to his unveiling in the temple (the new 'chosen' ?!) per scripture---sorry, juno, he is coming for the likes of YOU!! YOU and your ilk will be putty in his hands...buying into all the social justice et al that has become PC, but lacks common (God-given) sense! A perversion of the 'natural.'

And, your usual attempt at 'self righteous indignation' is transparent and is but a product of YOUR own pride!

Paul was merely explaining the long tradition and practices of Judaism which did NOT require converts to Judaism to follow the Laws and Rites, and Rituals which every Jews obligated to so do.
The Gentiles who converted to Judaism were to be considered as Jewish and receive all the same blessings and rewards as any Jew if they observed the Seven Noachide Laws:

The Children of Noah are the Gentiles, comprising the seventy nations of the world. They are commanded concerning the Seven Universal Laws, also known as the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah or the Seven Noachide Laws.

These Seven Universal Laws pertain to:

    1) Avodah Zarah: Prohibition on idolatry.
    2) Birchat HaShem: Prohibition on blasphemy and cursing the Name of G-d.
    3) Shefichat Damim: Prohibition on murder.
    4) Gezel: Prohibition on robbery and theft.
    5) Gilui Arayot: Prohibition on immorality and forbidden sexual relations.
    6) Ever Min HaChay: Prohibition on removing and eating a limb from a live animal.
    7) Dinim: Requirement to establish a justice system and courts of law to enforce the other 6 laws.
Men and women are equal in their responsibility to observe the Seven Universal Laws.

When a Gentile resolves to fulfill the Seven Universal Laws, his or her soul is elevated. This person becomes one of the "Chasidei Umot Haolam" (Pious Ones of the Nations) and receives a share of the World to Come.
The Torah calls one who accepts the yoke of fulfilling the Seven Universal Laws a "Ger Toshav" (a Proselyte of the Gate).

The actual benefits iof Welfare are so enormous and so easy to obtain that Americans would be appaulked if they ever found out what these people are now legally entited to.

In major cities, almost whole school are filled with Special Education students which have been designated so by making certain that the children are "schooled" to qualify.
The reason is money, since a mother of a Special Ed student receives @ $450 a month, albeit in the name of her child.
Then, salt in the wound, the normal classroom of 30 children become limited to no more than 15 Special kids, meaning that two teachers must be hired to teach what was once one class.

The qualifying standard for Assistance now asks three questions before one is accepted into The System, as they call it.

One must claim their annual earnings are under $50,000, that they are single, and that they have at least one dependent.

If all doors stood open to the kids in Stockholm’s poorer suburbs and if they could just walk into the next shop/factory/office and get a job, they probably would not have rioted.
Being able-bodied won’t help them much to find a proper job in a 21th century post-industrialized western economy.
There’s a reason why the EU is about to spend 6 billion euros on fighting youth unemployment. It’s a problem and the problem is not that our youth is unwilling to work.

Ah, I remember, your favourite charities were military ones, weren’t they? I suppose that’s just what Jesus had in mind when He emphasized the need to give to the poor (irony). It’s good to hear that you also support the Salvation Army (not irony).

I can’t see how supporting youth education programs and providing single mothers with child-care, so that they can study and work, will turn anybody into a dependent cripple.

As for me being a hypocrite: that may well be true. Mind you I only own one TV set and one car, but even that may be excessive luxury. And even though I happen to have given away a spare coat the other day, I wouldn’t call that an outstanding act of charity.

If it wasn’t so sad it would almost be funny that you don’t even spare the Messiah when it comes to dwelling in your silly gender-clichees.

Seeing that the word “socialism” is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible I’m not that impressed this wild rant of yours.

My political affiliations would be more with Anarcho-Syndicalism than with GDR-style Socialism by the way. But not being much of a revolutionary, I’m practical enough to support the very common sense “Social Market Economy”. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_market_economy). The “natural” would probably be Social-Darwinism, and no, I don’t think that’s an ideal that I as a Christian would like to support.

If I had to point out the Anti-Christ I’d go for guys such as Glenn Beck whose warped message you seem to have eaten hook, line and sinker:
    http://www.colbertnation.com/the-co...nn-beck-attacks-social-justice---james-martin

It’s more an attempt to help the Lord to gain back one of His lost sheep. The indignation you show here just shows me that deep down you still have something like a Christian conscience that tells you that I may be right in my indignation. And even though your pride may keep you from openly admitting this, I hope that this seed did not fall on rocky places, nor among the throttling thorns but that it still has a chance to grow.

I seriously believe that the children in Iran hear no gayness, see no gayness, and participate in no gayness that they will admit to.
For me, that is as good as it needs get, in my belief that there is no homosexuality when I neither see any or hear about any.

You are either very naïve or ignorant of the facts.
Not that this is evil or bad, but mere a sad truth about so many people like you who are blind to what the abuse of Single Mothers means to education and the absence of examples of working men in the neighborhoods of inner cities packed with these kids.

The anarchy of gangs that reign outside of every home in these areas exist because the toughest and meanest kids rule, and adult men except the policeman do not exist as an authority in those communities.

    http://www.fathers.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=391

Some fathering advocates would say that almost every social ill faced by America's
children is related to fatherlessness.
Six such advocates are noted here.
    As supported by the data
below, children from fatherless homes are more likely to be poor, become involved
in drug and alcohol abuse, drop out of school, and suffer from health and emotional
problems. Boys are more likely to become involved in crime, and girls are more likely
to become pregnant as teens.
    1. Poverty

    - In 1996, young children living with unmarried mothers were five times
as likely to be poor and ten times as likely to be extremely poor.
Source: "One in Four: America's Youngest Poor." National Center for children in Poverty. 1996.

    - Almost 75% of American children living in single-parent families will
experience poverty before they turn 11 years old. Only 20 percent of
children in two-parent families will do the same.
Source: National Commission on Children. Just the Facts: A Summary of Recent information
on America's Children and their Families. Washington, DC, 1993.

    poverty.gif ¨
Source: U.S. Bureau of the Census.Statistical Abstract of the United States 1994. Washington, DC: GPO 1994.

    2. Drug and Alcohol Abuse
    - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services states, "Fatherless children are at a dramatically greater risk of drug and alcohol abuse."
Source: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. National Center for Health Statistics. Survey on Child Health. Washington, DC, 1993.

    - Children growing up in single-parent households are at a significantly increased risk for drug abuse as teenagers.
Source: Denton, Rhonda E. and Charlene M. Kampfe. "The relationship Between Family Variables and Adolescent Substance Abuse: A literature Review." Adolescence 114 (1994): 475-495.

    - Children who live apart from their fathers are 4.3 times more likely to smoke cigarettes as teenagers than children growing up with their fathers in the home.
Source: Stanton, Warren R., Tian P.S. Oci and Phil A. Silva. "Sociodemographic characteristics of Adolescent Smokers." The International Journal of the Addictions 7 (1994): 913-925.
