Hum, this supposed atheist admits they're bigoted?? It is my understanding to avoid bigotry at all costs.

As an atheist, why does organized religion spark your animosity while the belief in other-worldly (and superior to human) beings does not spark your animosity?

Your definition for racism must be different than mine...My definition for racism is treating someone solely based on the color of their skin.

Being rightly (love for capitalism) or lefty (distaste for capitalism) has nothing to do with racism (or fascism).

No, I was calling you the bigot, but there is nothing about atheism (or agnosticism or theism) that stops one from becoming a bigot. BTW I addressed your silly reasons Blacks can't make it in a Race Relations thread you were quoted in.

This may be for another thread, but I think black separatists like black militias and Nation of Islam are right-wingers. Blacks that loudly condemn racism and protest it are not being racist, which the right accuses them of because they don't like the finger being pointed at them.

This is a strongly paternalistic point of view. It's the view that white men can take care of women, for example. It is the view that white men have been effective in limiting the effects of racism in our societies.

And, I see no evidence for that point of view.
Please cite where "forcing them" is happening.
In our US congress, women make up 14% of Republican representation.

Our population is MORE than 50% women.

I would suggest that is a strong indication of bias.

Yes, we could wipe out humans on Earth. Barring that, Earth will likely be livable for another couple billion years - long enough for distant relatives to possibly see results. Also, I didn't just mean self repairing, I meant self replicating - which would give the advantage of a geometric growth in the number of explorers. I mention this mostly because it is a strategy that an alien society could use to find us.

Astrophysics appears to be one approach to understanding how our physics is broken.

We have two separate models of physics today - Einstein gravity and quantum mechanics. These models both work well when applied to the appropriate problems, but they are not compatible - a fundamental hole in what we know about physics.

I would see that as a priority.

This is just plain nonsense. The US is wildly in favor of capitalism.

All religions are based on fairy tales. The Gods of the Bible were simply the emperors and chief priests of the dominant empires that ruled the ancient Middle Eastern empires. The God character bit the dust when the last Babylonian emperor died and the empire collapsed around 530 BC. He is never, ever, coming back.

If the Jesus character was still wiggling on the cross you might have a point for Christianity. He isn't. And he didn't get the name "Jesus" until around 1630 AD.

We still have gods but they are just ordinary men with the power of life and death over everyone else. They are the national leaders who can end our lives and civilizations in a flash if they go nuts and wage war with each other. Other gods (humans) have the power of creation and are able to create all kinds of magical things out of nothing but their imaginations. All of them are more powerful than the old Gods (just humans) of the Bible and other ethnocentric religious fairy tales. Even you are a god (or demon).

A righty is for capitalism and a lefty is against capitalism and this is the only definition for righty and lefty. It is beyond me why some even begin to think how someone favors capitalism (is a righty) has anything to do with whether they're racist or fascist.

    "ALL"?

What religion is based on science?
    Church of Reality

The Church of Reality espouses a simple doctrine: "If it's real, we believe in it." Based on this principle alone, you may already find yourself at least a member in spirit. The religion refers to itself as "doubt-based" and holds science as the ultimate arbiter of what is real and what isn't.Jan 19, 2016

This is absolute garbage. Everyone is for capitalism. Statistically speaking, NOBODY is opposed to capitalism.

I don't know why the silly comments on capitalism got into this thread. It certainly didn't come from anyone who knows what they are talking about.

Finding some religion that doesn't have a god does NOT mean that atheism is a religion.

It just means you found a godless religion.

You could have chosen Buddhism as your example.

Correct .. "Not Believing" that the moon is made of Green Cheese -- is not the religion of Green Cheese

"But I have Faith .. the moon really is made of green cheese" - is the religion of Green Cheese .. not the reverse Koko ..

Get it... Got it.. Goooooooood :deadhorse::applause::cheerleader:

No. That doesn't even make sense. The Church tells theists what to think and how to think it.

You'll have to ask the atheist that question but being an Agnostic I assume we share our reason with atheists for telling door-knocking bible-bashers to **** off in that our convictions (both the atheist and the agnostic) are based upon fact. So why not tell bible-bashers to **** off? They are wasting our time peddling their superstition and won't take "Thank you but no thank you" as the end of a dialogue.
