Is there any way America can improve its image in the world?

Oh c'mon. Every time you guys get all het up, there are wails across the US at the casualties you take. Coffins are not allowed to be pictured coming off planes. Then your grunts start to commit suicide because they can't get treatment for PTSD.

 

Always lookin for the money aren't ya. I'll agree america should let everyone be on their own for awhile. No money, no defense. Russia would probably annex all of Europe in a year. No big loss.

But most of the people attacking you aren't the people you're looking for. I didn't box myself into any corner.

It's like people aren't grasping the inherent advantage of the quick-and-stealthy approach: if you send a whole army, the people you're looking for know you're there and move somewhere else. They can more easily escape big, noticable armies. But if you send a commando team or a drone - well, they have no time to run away by the time they find out you're after them.

 

It's only "American bashing" because you don't like the truth. If I really wanted to "bash" America, trust me, I would be doing a much more comprehensive job. Now stop playing the piteous victim.

The way Americans play upon the "American bashing" theme is like a rendition of the Stars and Stripes played by a bunch of camels.

 

You guys talking about the best way to kill people? Might I suggest that that fits the American image but does nothing to improve it.

 

Well sure when we are fighting in Vietnam or Korea or Syria or Iraq or something like that, yeah the hippies get loud and we have a tendency to let them. But you make the mistake of engaging us in a real war where our homeland is attacked several times and you will wake a destructive beast that has the capacity to completely annihilate any country on earth WITHOUT nuking it.

A truly engaged and willing American populace at war that feared for the safety of their homes, land, wives, husbands, parents, grandparents and children is an extremely frightening thing to imagine for a country who REALLY wanted to get some and not just pontificate on the Internet about it.

Hiroshima saved lives in the long run..FACT!!! Go look it up. And frankly they deserved it. Japan sneak attacked us for NO REASON! If they never attacked we wouldn't have dropped the bombs. Quite simple. You think it would be a sound strategy to go attack a nation all bunkered up, fighting to the last man? Soldiers who were OK, strapping explosives to themselves and running into crowds? Why fight that? Since they weren't surrendering after we had them surrounded, we had to convince them to give up. They did. Lives saved. We gained an ally. Case closed. Go study history.

 

No other country gives more to other countries than the USA.

We will always be the 'bad guy' to liberals and certain countries, but at least with a strong POTUS, those countries at least respected us.

With a weak leader with no backbone who thought kissing ass and going on apology tours would make our enemies like us, it has only made America weaker.

As is in life, you cannot 'buy' someone's love, nor can you make them like you.

 

That's what was terrifying about the invasion of Iraq, not that we invaded, but how little justification it took. I would think we should no instinctively that you don't invade a sovereign nation, a lesson we taught Iraq when it invaded Kuwait. We lost all that moral authority when we transgressed in the exact same manner.

And now we're crying because Russia wants to invade Georgia and the Ukraine.
