    A. It is not her responsibility to diffuse a situation someone else started with an insulting racist statement (although her job security may mean she has to put up with it.).

    B. It may (I admit it would take a miracle) get this guy to THINK before speaking.

    C. It may show him women don't have to tolerate rude, patronizing, unnecessary comments from men.

    It sounds like an employment situation to me, so I'm not sure how tossing back a racial insult helps things, but maybe at your job that's OK.

    Racism is the thing of the past. No wonder old people are more racist than the present generation.
