We are seeing the same with pregnant woman being hospitalised with Covid with unvaccinated being over 90% of admissions even though more than 80% of the population are fully vaccinated with less than 20% unvaccinated

Your theory about extreme deadliness of Delta variant does not have any kind of confirmation.
The moving average of death rate is about 1100 per day for the last 2 years, without any reduction.
If vaccines are working (9 times more effective preventing death according to CDC) then we should see death rate much lower.

I went to school, I was not the best in class, but I know how add subtract multiply numbers.
All kind of research and science is good if it correlates with real statistical data. If it does not it is not a good science.

I would not be comfortable with this idea. What if this new pathogen mutates into a real killer? Our knowledge in immunology and genetics are probably not sufficient enough to try to release our own engineered pathogen in hopes of it out competing others without harming us.
