What you don't perceive is the existence of an intellectual construct that abides in America. It is called Doctrine of the Separation of Church and State. It's a constitutional requirement.

If an American Muslim accepts that doctrine he or she must perforce subordinate the Islamic concept of the primacy of Sharia law. But in doing so he or she cannot be a faithful Muslim because of the failure to comply with the Quran's injunction to make Sharia law the only law on earth.

If he or she is not willing to accept the Doctrine of the Separation of Church and State he or she cannot truly be American. But he or she will be a faithful Muslim and member of the Ummah.

Christianity has been itinerant over the centuries. Middle East to Europe to the Americas and now to East Asia and Sub Saharan Africa. Christianity has a destiny independent of America.
