Why woudl HHS employees check immigration status? Last time I checked HHS was not in charge of immigration enforcement.

 

Since it was passed, have you ever heard or seen TV's alphabet media gatekeepers do an expose' on Obamacares' many surprises?

 

Just imagine how much money America would save if we actually enforced the laws?

The Mexican Government should take care of their own citizens. we cant afford it.

But I am fairly sure clinic workers for HHS are not tasked with immigration law enforcement.

To receive free healthcare, would it be too much for the patient to provide a state issued I.D. or SS card? I think that would be enough without being too time consuming or require additional workers for checking status.

The healthcare law will be a huge failure, just look at Massachusetts and multiply it nationally. The cost will be astronomical and it will not increase the quality of care for those that have insurance. In essence, most will pay more for a lower quality service, just so the few (or illegal) have benefits that they do not pay for. It is the liberal way.

 

Excellent. Now figure out how to hire enough people to do that while securing the border in order to prevent more people form coming in.

 

Of course they don't check. It's a healthcare service. It's not their job to check, it is only their job to administer healthcare. Why do you think Ubamacare gave them the money??? Pretty simple to figure out. Give Ubamacare...aka taxpayer money to healthcare services that have no ability or authority to obtain citizens status. Bingo....free healthcare for illegals.

You are referencing a provision of COBRA that relates to emergency services, not all medical services.

Read the actual quote from the OP:

Any person can walk into any medical facility and seek emergency medical attention, your argument is irrelevant to this thread.

I find it hard to blame the current president for, at least as far as illegal immigration is concerned, his policy of enforcement is the same as Bush Dos, Clinton, Bush Uno, Reagan, Carter, Ford, and Nixon.

While I do not doubt that in the minds of many they place the blame wholly on partisan basis, it seems disingenuous to say that the current president could solve this problem if he chose to., Seems to me that the solution is not quite as simple as you say.

 

Well the police aren't in charge of DMV. Should they stop checking driver licenses when people are stopped?

 

How about giving that job to some of the overstaffed administration we already have. Im sure they will just love the desk job since they love sitting on their butts all day.

 

I am not sure I understand your analogy.

Police are tasked with enforcing certain laws. One of those I woudl imagine is ensuring that folks who are driving have valid drivers' licenses.

HHS is not tasked with enforcing immigration laws.

 

You are really blindsided. It doesn't take that much more to enforce immigration laws when it comes down to handing out free medical service. Maybe about 5 minutes would do the job. If they can't handle that then they shouldn't be working there anyway.

 

Bring our military back. I'm sure they could do both jobs without the recourse to hiring new people to do so.
