That's not true at all. If you look at my posting history, I have been railing against civil suits for sexual assault.

I even pointed out the problem with women trying to sue Harvey Weinstein for money.

This is the logic by which less than 1% of rapes lead to felony conviction.

In fact, our process, how we treat victims who report, what happens when they stand in court, arguments allowed by defense lawyers, etc., leads to barely 1/3 of rapes even being reported.

I don't see how one can think that rape is considered a serious crime in America.

Those are misleading statistics, because first of all, in many of those cases they have no idea who the perpetrator even is.

Second of all, even if true, that would still not be a reason to treat any specific individual case differently.
(Just because other cases are not prosecuted for lack of evidence does not mean a man should be prosecuted in a specific case when there is a total lack of evidence)

And like I've pointed out before, there's going to be a huge problem when the woman might just be accusing the man to try to get lots of money.
When progressives added that to the mix, it made women a lot less believable. But progressives don't care. They love taking money from rich men.

 

The problem you give is that innocent men might be sued and found guilty. That happens in more serious cases all the time. People get released decades after being convicted, including from death row, because new evidence exonerates them. But that doesn't mean we stop prosecuting those crimes. It is still important that we as a society do so.
