Legal, graduated and very pretty while seeking someone's approval. according to Florida.... being 18 and having sex with a 14 y.o. the law isn't new here.... agree with it or not... the law is clear. I don't have to agree with the definition of date-rape, but that doesn't get me off the hook if I wait for a girl to pass out and have sex with her.....
Nah I see where he's coming from, since the case involved two teens. 18 may legally be an adult but obviously if there's only a 4 year age difference, that's not in the same realm as say, a 40 year old man taking advantage of a 14 year old girl. Doesn't sound like you're using much critical thought - you're just hung up on the word 'molestation' and are forgoing common sense. If they arbitrarily decided that 21 was the min age of consent, and someone a 20 year old sleeping with an 18 year old was fairly trivial - you'd probably accuse them of being disgusting too, lol Not comparitively- if it was 17 and 3/4ths instead of 18 then no one would care - not to mention 14 is legal age of consent in many states w/ parental permission, so I don't find it in the same realm of disgusting as say, a 35 year old and a 14 year old. But law is the law, and she knew what she was getting into so I don't have much sympathy for her.
Well Florida has some of the highest age of consent laws of any state - most states are 16-17 (with even as young as 14 provided there is parental consent) - Florida is one of the few states with a staunch 18 stats. So honestly I don't find her much of a real threat to society at all - she's still a teen after all - if she'd been 1 day shy of 18 then this never would've made news, so much ado about nothing I say. - - - Updated - - - Probably a good idea - but I wouldn't find an 18 year old guy dating a 14 year old an automatic threat to society, that's my point. A 30-40 year old man chasing after a 14 year old would be a totally different ballpark.
You know it been proven that 18 year old are far from adult medical speaking. But still, cognitive abilities do not reach maturity until 15 or 16, so there should be some punishment for such an act. Also, judging by pictures of her f**k buddy this isn't pedophilia.
The state of Florida hasn;t stated whether this is Paedophilia or not. they have claimed it violates a law that does not contain the word' paedophilia' in it. I don;t think you know what 'paedophilia' means.

The whole thread only exists because she is a lesbian. But there is no indication whatsoever that she is a pedophile. Sexual predator I am fine with, but she is not molesting pre-pubescent girls.

Pedophile does not mean 'sexual predator'. It is not a 'Buzzword' it is precise terminology. Paedophile(Br) or Pedophile(Am) means EXACTLY a person who is attracted to prepubescents. I realise worshipping ignorance is part and parcel of what it is to be An american conservative but I prefer precision in communication.
"18-14, no big deal"? What about 19-13? Would you support that relationship? Or how about 19-14? You have a senior in high school dating a freshman. Why? Simple. Because they can be easily manipulated. This is no different then any other pedophile. The fact is that if this case had been about a 18 year old boy and a 14 year old girl then you would have never even heard about it. But change it to two girls, and suddenly it is a bad law. Frankly, I think the plea agreement is too lenient. The 18 year old can have this whole thing wiped from her record if she reframes from statutorily raping anyone else. I'll bet that she ties to hookup with the 14 year old again as soon as she is back on the street. Then when she gets arrested again, her idiotic supporters will say, "see she's in love."
