I have always be careful of who and what I take pictures of here. One never was allowed to take pictures of structures ( bridges, dams etc) and military installations of which there are many. We shall see what happens with the upcoming UN vote.
Oh, so those laws have just been on the books for ages. I was surprised at them arresting a couple groups of tourists. Has nobody told them about google maps? I mean, if I had your address in Cairo, I might be able to tell what kind of car you drive if you park in a driveway. What do they think we're sending in spies dressed as tourists to learn? And I'm sure if our militaries cared they could get higher res images with their satellites, in real time if required.
I don't think they will change it. Last I checked, they have at least three or four Isreal-friendly Turkish posters whom are active.
