Everybody cool it please. Stop with the back and forth mudslinging, stop the back and forth insults, stop the back and forth off topic posts, and stop the flamebaiting. Discuss the topic at hand in a civilized manner or stay out of the thread. The last few pages of this thread are a mixture of numerous rule violations from numerous people. Instead of personally going through and trying to tell everybody individually we are telling everyone at once. The next rule violations will result in infractions and banishment from this thread.

This falls into the category of "What were they thinking?" February is the coldest month in the NE and this is when elite college students plan a global warming protest? No doubt they'll say the exteme cold was caused by global warming even though there is some historical data suggesting winters in Connecticut get COLD.

 

Pointing at cold days as proof against global warming is just as ridiculous and ignorant as holding a straight edge against the ground and smugly declaring that the earth isn't round.

 

True. And the chowder heads who take it as a matter of ideological faith as promulgated by their media entertainers that you can befoul the atmosphere with utter impunity don't even begin to grasp that extremes in temperature and precipitation concur with the evidence of anthropogenic climate change that climatologists have been predicting.

They seem to labour under the simplistic delusion that someone has been saying that temperatures would just go up everywhere, even though no reputable scientific study ever said anything of the sort.

 

Of the many posts in this thread I have yet to see one that is pointing to anything proving or disproving global warming. Instead, what I see is the poor thought process of America's future leaders.

Thought, I would love to have seen the photographs of the event.

A pack of liberalism's finest dressed in heavy coats, huddled together for warmth, rambling on with their AGW diatribes as their breath freezes in the air proving that the only real threatening source of carbon dioxide is a liberal windbag who just won't shut up.

 

Rather than protesting against a negative thing.......... it can be more productive to protest for something positive.

At least that is what I gleaned from the Netflix documentary "The Secret" a few months back.

The implications of a USA judge being so naïve as to allow the lawyers for the plaintiff to add "a white powdery substance" to the fuel of this vehicle........... shows a level of incompetence that we usually only see in a third world nation.

 

From what I've seen everything is proof towards global warming. To much rain, proof. To little rain, proof. Extra sunny days, proof. Extra cloud coverage, proof. It's to hot, proof. It's to cold, proof and so on and so on. I'm sure you get the point. In the end though I don't really care what people believe in so long as they don't try and reach into my wallet or have me change my lifestyle in order to fit theirs.

Global warming is bring more extreme storms and weather, but the yearly averages are increasing dramatically.

 

Willful ignorance and this illusion of wealth, while at the same time ignoring environmental dangers, which happens to be the "REAL" wealth of the world, shows no boundaries to those who choose to ignore. And to think, man was always viewed as the smartest animal in the kingdom. But, as we are soon finding out, a one celled amoeba does more for self perpetuation and cleansing of the environment than a multicelled animal with a brain. I don't suppose there is much need in wrapping our "brains" around that thought now is there?

 

I have no illusion of wealth. I just believe what's mine is mine and you have no right to it unless I freely give it. Somehow that's a difficult concept for those with a "brain". What I do find interesting though that in the beginning we were all going to burn and die if we didn't somehow change our life and give our money to the cause. Sound familiar?

 

Given that America's responsible business, agriculture, public safety, and defense department leaders are now preparing, along with the international community, for the intensifying adverse effects of anthropogenic climate change, the fact that a dwindling number of TPs, estranged and alienated from the American people and science, are still braying that climatologists are all liars, and that they can blithely poop into the sky to their heart's content with no repercussions whatsoever, as deranged as it is, does not actually constitute a problem of any real consequence.

Making the necessary accommodations in timely fashion is the real challenge.

 

It is LAUGHABLE to me some 30 years later to see INANE remarks about 'it's too cold ....(fill in the blank)' when talking about global warming. From Limbaugh to FOX to this board. It's pathetic and apparently in 30 years NO ONE has bothered to read what scientists said would happen. The RW talkers are INVESTED in lying. Do boardies have $$$ on the line?? Or have I given entirely too much credit for the education level of members of this board. I took basic science courses in 8th and 10th grades. I get it!!

You would think that by this time we would see some cooling given they have been on a tear to stop carbon dioxide. But when it does get colder, they say it is just global warming. Go figure.

It seems to me though, common sense dictates that you protest global warming in the summer, not the winter. The optics are much better. Film of sweaty protesters works better than film of bundled, freezing protesters protesting warming.

Hey, it was your side that named it Global Warming and it was because the planet was supposed to get warmer. Now that we also get some extreme cold, which does happen in the winter, you guys then changed the name to climate change so everything is covered. The left is never happy unless it has something to panic about - remember how there would be oxygen left because the Amazon rain forest was disappearing? Well, I'm still breathing.

 

The planet is getting warmer. Global warming means the average global temperature is rising. Global warming causes climate change. Which means certain areas of the globe could get colder climates. It's not that its named wrong. It's that you don't understand it. That's no one's fault but your own.

 

It is cold in the U.S. because Arctic does not have enough ice to keep the cold in bay. This is exact result of global warming.
On the other hand every next winter in Siberia is warmer then previous one.
