    Yep, inline 4.

It's a little bit of a overkill for the type of riding I do, but I enjoy riding it so what the hell, right?

    ALL sportbikes are in-line 4's.Except a few.Triumph have triples
and ducati's are twins with engine as stressed member.
Doggone it I can't remember the metric sportbike that was a Twin.
I was thinking the R1.Help me out here. It's buggin me.

99% of all sportbikes on the road today are overkill and can't be used to their full potential.

I originally bought the bike with the intention of tracking it, but the cost right now it simply out of my reach... one day though.

the hyabusas used to be a big thing among motorcycle enthusiasts but now there are faster bikes than the 1300cc

forget what they are called though

That makes a helluva sense.Sport bikes are overkill yet aren't
up their true potential.Which is it.Sounds like somethin a Liberal would say.

I got my words twisted, I meant to say they are overkill for the street because they can't be used to their full potential.

BMW made a busa killer, the ZX14 recently passed the busa as well.

(*)(*)(*)(*) nice looking bike, great color.

HD is known for low end getting off the line torq anything over 60 and it can be my blast Ive smoked a few of them.

If your friend would run a cam and do some more mods other than just the BB he might have a change, the bourget was a hi comp 125 and my dad has a ticket at 140+. The fastest Ive ever done in 120 and he's pulled away from me on the bourget like I was still in first.

I know the Speed triple is consider a Wheelie King because it always wants to buck

Plus a lot of sportbikes guys are kinda nutty.I've seen a many on a busy
city street gettin off on burn-outs and ridin around really fast with like
only a bathing suit.Even their chicks are kinda reckless, riding
behind with no helmut and barefoot. But a lot of Sportbikers wear
full leathers and chaps and good helmuts.I think it's weird the way they
all steer their bikes with one arm/hand.Like it makes for better balance.

In the sportbike world we refer to them as squids. I have seen many do the same on Harleys though and customs.

I can see lane splitting in stopped traffic if it's 100º outside, but doing a wheelie and stunting at the same time in just reckless.

No BMW's stick out like sore thumbs.BMW came out with an
upgraded version of their Euro In-line 4 superbike.I got the
article somewhere. It's a couple years old.It was reported to have
over 160 H.P. which doesn't top a Busa but it was highly tuneable
    and well,Germans know engines.

There's YouTube of lane splitting on a Diablo.Pretty neat.
I used to lane split in stopped traffic.I remember once a cop who
had traffic stopped and blocked off in the opposite direction with no cars
travelling.I was stuck in traffic on my Rune and decided to really quickly
take the road back that was empty.A cop saw me,and was about to get
in his car and give chase. He yelled out somethin like " You better not ".

Not sure which one you're thinking of...Honda RVT RC51 or Superhawk are twins. Suzuki SV 1000 and v-strom maybe? Aprilia RSV 1000?

FWIW - Lane splitting is 100% legal in the Golden State.

    Anyway...

2012 Triumph Bonneville Steve McQueen Special Edition - only 1,100 will be made and sold worldwide. Designed to resemble the Triumph Trophy TR6 that McQueen rode in the movie The Great Escape.

I think I might have to call the local Turnip dealer...

    :)

I love bikes, but this is the sort of riding I do (or did, until two years ago - at 18, I'm too old for Junior Motocross now) -

I would love a road bike, but 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' has forbidden it while I was a minor. This is what I want - I can't afford a new bike, but an old Ducati 900SS would be even better. Has anyone heard the noise they make? Magic!!!

Sorry to say this, but none of the road bike riders I have spoken to like Harleys. They say they are the motorcycle equivalent of a 1950's Yank tank. Big, heavy, and unwieldy, and as technologically advanced as a T-model Ford. Different strokes for different folks - I guess.

Ducatis are good for the areas where traffic is dangerous, they are built for handling more than speed

THE Worst motorcycle I ever owned was a 750 Bonneville.
    It was like a '76-78 model.Kinda pretty.Kick start.But it vibrated like
crazy and was hard to kick over.Had Lucas gauges { The one good
thing about the Brits }.I used to hang out at a bar in Cleveland named
Val's on Mayfield rd.Every once in a while some of the local Hells Angels
would come in.I felt kinda funny with my pretty new Triumph amidst
all the Harley panheads.I survived though.I didn't put many miles on that
    Bonneyville.It was a piece of sh!t.Now the previous year,I had a Yamaha
500 which I put thousands of miles on.I figgered I've owned about a dozen motorcycles by now.I'm still learning. If that helps any.
My Rune is far and away THE best motorcycle I've owned or hope to
    own.

The dealer in Louisville { Commonwealth Motors } I bought my M109
at has a rather new store. It used to have a really cramped place
a mile away that was like an old wharehouse.Their new place is
a nice new brick bldg. right smack dab on a street where riffraff
live. That Dealer is known for Ducati and used toi have a couple mint
Old Ducks and a couple Norton Commando's.
I really want a Triumph Rocket and they have a couple models I
love. They have the New Triumph Rocket Dresser, sans tach and a
couple new Rocket III's.The Triumph Rocket is the biggest displacement
cruiser there is besides the ridiculous Boss Hog.I came close to test
    driving a Boss Hog.Their a 2 speed monstrocity.
The Triumph Rocket is The fastest Cruiser besides the V-Max.
The Ducati Diablo may be the fastest Cruiser/sportbike mix
0-60 mph.Like how does 2.6 seconds grab ya.
No car on earth can match that.

Spade, lane splitting IS legal in Texas as there is no statute for it. Also, there is not acoustical criteria.
