I don't get this fascination with cruisers that are the bike equivalent of motor-homes...when I go for a cruise I take my air conditioned minivan, smooth quiet, comfortable, warm and dry...bikes are made to go fast, handle corners with speed, squeeze through traffic and save fuel if you're not doing any of those might as well be in something with four wheels and roof...

and what's up with these three wheeled bikes being produced?...next thing they'll be rolling four wheeled bikes of the assembly lines....

When I pile on the wife and the dog and we load up for a 5 night camping trip, having that big cruiser is a real pleasure. No way I'm going in a cage. A cage is allow about destination; a bike is all about journey. Every bike has a purpose and a rider needs to own one for every purpose he intends, if he can afford it. Right now, I make do with a sport tourer, but I wouldn't mind having a good sport bike again for the commuting and solo rides, and a full sized tour bike for the family vacation.

They aren't bikes. They are trikes, and they don't require any special licensing. Now, I've seen a few badass three wheelers, so I won't put them all into the same class, but I don't think they should be allowed in the car pool lane just because the operator wears a brain bucket.

another of my old rides a 440 Maico

    80-maico400-01.jpg

amazing wide powerband, 50hp and only 225lb...so easy to ride...

then there was the KT 250 trial... 1975_KT250.jpg

probably the most fun you can possibly have going slow.... I sucked as a trials rider but I loved this bike always put a smile on my face...

I don't camp, hotels with a/c and a pool thanks, and I'll get there by plane or toyota minivan or my Tundra...

I know what they are, they're stupid...there was time the only people I knew who rode one were people who had lost a leg, now they appeal to wannabe bikers....back then they had two wheels in back now there are two wheels in front...

To each his own. I merely answered your question as to why anyone would want a large cruiser bike. Me, I wouldn't be caught dead in a minivan.

I did come across some old ladies outside Santa Rosa on custom three wheelers. Old ladies covered in tattoos and about as butch and mean looking as a woman can be. They did not look stupid. Otherwise, I agree entirely.

I was in Louisville yesterday, but in my car. There was this sportbike guy behind me and he was
tailgating. Then he was lane-splitting and acting in a huge hurry. They usually pull that stuff
over on Dixie Hwy. with no shirt and just shorts and tennis shoes, maybe the occassional
    stop light burnout.

Here's a novel idea, ride what you like and don't worry about anyone else's bike or attitude.
    Worry about your own.

Ok, but I won't agree that a three wheeler is a bike. It's a three wheeled car without sides.

Scooters are like fat girls. Lots of fun to ride but you wouldn't want anyone to see you with one.

Definitely not for me. I'd do a Ural with a side car though.
Just me and my dog Sadie, tooling around the countryside.

Word would get around just as quick for riding either, too. I don`t really mean that, I wouldn`t want a scooter myself, but I`ve got nothing against them.

    Which reminds me :
    Q. What`s the best way to make love to a fat, ugly woman?
    A. Have a crank, & chuck it at her.

A Ural is like a Motorbike that belongs only on some Stamp.
Preferably a Russian Stamp at dat.About the dumbest looking thing a road
could bear.I doubt even Laurel & Hardy could manage to get better laughs
w/o need of such a contraption. It's a novelty at best.

Word salad devoid of thought or meaning...it's just directionless babble, random words strung together by a damaged mind, like Charles Manson's poetry. Seek professional help.

I do not own a motorcycle, never have and never will. I just object to your BS.

Don't EVER shine a UV light around a hotel room! And no extra charge for the bedbugs.

They give supercar performance at an economy car price.

Then you lack any degree of perspective and are TROLLING.
You need an Infraction in the least to put a stop to YOUR TROLLING.

That might have more to do with the High compression and race-inspired V-rod or
Revolution engine which was a german inspiration. In fact the original run of short
stroke V-Rods on early 2000's had internal stamping on some engines from
    Porsche.
I remember Yamaha Warrior had help from Patrick Racing in some Drag winner's circle.

I really have nothing against scooters. My first two wheeler was a scooter. Nearly died on it taking out a car with my head. Then I upgraded to a motorcycle. I'd consider getting one for around town, but not one of those Vespa types.
