Of course not. I'm only against using drone strikes when civilian casualties are expected. Against military targets, drones are usually the way to go.

Why do you people think "legalization" is such a great solution?

Well I guess it's a good thing this is posted in political opinions instead of current events because then the title would have to reflect reality.

Its not a great solution. Its the least worst solution. Legalization removes the profit incentive for crime and takes a lot of the funding away from violent criminals (and from corrupt govt that uses the drug trade to fund unsanctioned activity). Ideally, we would legalize it all, tax the hell out of it, create jobs both manufacturing and regulating drugs, and use some of the revenue to better fund education programs teaching people how bad drugs are for you.

You really think drug cartels are simply going to pony up the taxes they owe on drugs?

No. Thats not what I said at all...

If we make the drugs here and sell the drugs here, no one will want to buy from the cartels. If no one wants their product, they won't invest in bringing it here.

Would you buy flour or milk or gasoline from a gangbanger behind the local Arby's at 3am just to get it tax-free? Of course not. But that's only because you can get it safely and legally from a legitimate business, albeit by paying more.

There is the whole invading a sovereign nation thing with an act of war. Yeah, good thinking.

Speaking of war -- the USA is being invaded by people from all over the world. People we know nothing about. These people are capturing our country one person at a time as we lose our flag, national anthem, statues, history, language, culture, and education of our kids. One day it will all come crashing down and the politicians will blame the other party.

Well I wish you would suggest some "better ways". What we're doing now isn't working -- well it is working for the president and Congress, just not working for the hard-working taxpaying USA citizens.

If you have to ask you're either not an American or have rejected the Constitution in favor of barbarism.

If Israel was really our friend, they would use their Space Lazers to take out the drug cartels.

If we launched some cruise missiles and took out some cartels, I wouldn't bat an eye. Honestly, I wish we were already doing this.

But only if we're not doing it unilaterally and have been invited and given permission. And should we choose that route, there will be consequences that go along with the escalation.

I don't think you would be in favor of drone strikes if other countries were doing this to military targets in the US. Me thinks, you'd advocate for going to war if that happened. The US only can afford to do this because might makes right.

Actually, it’s the morons who choose to use drugs who are complicit in far more American death and misery.

They put fentany lin to give the opioids more kick. If they'd just legalize it the whole problem would evaporate. but that's too much like doing something that makes sense.,

115,000 dead? Where? Can we see a link?

Since when is it anyone's business but his own as what substances we so-called free citizens choose to put into our autonomous bodies anyway

The Founding Fathers would horsewhip you in the street if you even suggested the drug laws we have today.

So you would support droning the cartel's couriers if there is little to no risk of civilian casualties?

The US did not have permission from Pakistan to take out Osama bin Laden, who was in Pakistan when US soldiers killed him and a group of others:

    "
Pakistan on Tuesday denied any prior knowledge of the U.S. raid that killed Osama bin Laden, but said it had been sharing information about the targeted compound with the CIA since 2009.
    "

In fact, a Pakistani government official said, "This event of unauthorised unilateral action cannot be taken as a rule."

So, yeah, @Bowerbird , that does not quite sound like they had permission. Why do you keep making stuff up? In another thread, you said top surgery is just the removal of adipose tissue and is tantamount to breast reduction, which is completely false, and now this? And it's not like it is some gray area that is arguably false. These things you say are completely false and takes a modicum of research to disprove.

@dgrichards , do you disagree with the Obama administration taking out Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, even though it did not have permission from the Pakistan government? Since Pakistan is a sovereign country, isn't that an "act of war," in your words? Additionally, Pakistan has nuclear weapons, Mexico does not, which would mean a more dangerous war.
