Baloney. Next month the highest death rates will be in blue states and the media response will be crickets. It’s all about the narrative and liberal bias. I long ago gave up caring what leftists think.

Not surprising really .. Blue are such sheep .. and whats this about "The Science" you got it backwards .. tis Blue who are riding the Anti Science train .. which is responsible for killing people. The lying conflicted Fauci Clown at the helm -- the drug oligopolies now dictating health policy.

Off the Blue Kool-aid mate .. stuff will make you blind if you drink enough.

The more educated people are, the bigger their education debt. Republicans: You got the education to make good money, you pay for your education. Democrats: Vote for us and we will get the taxpayers to foot the bill for your higher education. Hhhmmmm....I wonder who they're going to vote for?

To me, the root of my vaccine hesitation lies in the fact that the virus is new and the vaccination platforms that are used to inoculate are also new (viral vector and mRNA vaccines). If we had a working mRNA vaccine against some other pathogen for just a couple of years before covid emerged then there probably would be less resistance to it. Another thing that aggrevates this issue is our current social environment - things that used to be considered absurd (like BLM, CRT, etc) are being openly discussed now, raising suspicions about the virus and the vaccine even more. Also, some things that are being said by many health officials seem to contradict common knowledge about what the vaccines and viruses do, like disregard for natural immunity.
At least to me, the listed issues above significantly lower my personal risk tolerance. I am not vaccinated and already had covid in a very light form. I have no intention of taking an mRNA or a viral vector vaccine for the next 10-15 years, but if a traditional one like coronavac does make it to our market then I’ll give it serious consideration.
Absolute majority of those who hesitate to accept the vaccine are not anti science or anti vaccination in general. It’s just that the circumstances surrounding it is very odd, to put it mildly.
I think after first decade the only people who will be refusing these vaccines are going to be true anti-vaxxers who refuse all vaccines.

If degrees in gender and African studies got people high paying jobs then theyd have no problem paying back a school loan.

There’s probably 5 or 6 jobs for those degrees in the entire country. How about these dolts learn something of actual value.

Indeed. And in my personal experience, I know both Republicans and Democrats who have both gotten jabbed and have not gotten jabbed. I am respectful of the decisions that they have made for themselves and I don't treat any of them any differently for it, nor would I ever coerce or force them to make any particular decision.

Another cause of vaccine hesitation is our mass media - during the last 4-5 years they didn’t shy away from openly lying and taking political sides. I saw the absolute majority of our mass media refusing to report on Hunter Biden during elections. How do I know they won’t suppress any reports that raise suspicion about the safety of these vaccines? How do I know that everything I’m being told about the virus and the vaccines is not taken out of context? We don’t have real unbiased news sources anymore, therefore no source to turn to for everyone about issues that are important to all, not just political left or political right. I don’t take medical advise from any political magazines or newspapers, why should I trust AP, CNN, NBC, and others who display strong partisanship? Or should I trust the leaders of the FDA or CDC who seem to refuse to recognize the fact that women exist and who replaced their terminology that describes women with something as stupid as “menstruating person”? How do I know the same looneys weren’t the ones approving these vaccines?

I've never understood this mindset either.

How does a jab going into your body do anything for anybody other than yourself? The side effects only occur to the recipient. The immune response only occurs to the recipient.

If the science keeps changing, what do you do if you did what science said you should do and then they say Oops? I’ve had the virus (thanks China) I’ve had two Pfizer jabs, I have chest pains that are gradually going away ad I’m not getting any boosters. Period. Done. Over and out.

And this small subset represents what fraction of the US population…?

How will convincing this small group have ANY impact on the 30+% of Republicans who refuse to protect themselves and their families…?

The couple of times I got a flu shot, I never felt anything noteworthy and I felt perfectly fine throughout (same with any other shot I've gotten). Does that mean that my body didn't do what it was supposed to do? --- Since when has feeling like crap become a GOOD thing??

So the shot made you feel like crap.

Why do you think that COVID would cause you to be hooked up to a machine or worse? In most cases, it is quite mild, especially if properly treated early on (and IF it were to induce pneumonia, that the pneumonia gets caught and treated early on).

One could also take other actions to boost one's immune systems, such as: eating a healthy species appropriate diet, getting regular exercise, getting sunlight, reducing stress, getting adequate sleep, and other immune boosting measures. None of that requires suffering through feeling like complete crap after a shot.

... OR just don't get the shot and then there's no side effects. That's the approach I've taken and it's worked wonderfully for me.

    That’s a blatant lie…

Mississippi has the highest death rate. Furthermore, 7 of the ‘deadliest’ 10 states are red states…

... and you're probably MUCH happier because of it, which in turn pisses off leftists even more (as they want you to be just as unhappy and miserable as they are).

Oh no my friend.. It surely doesn't.... Now the small group added with that small group, and sprinkle in those small groups and wallah. A consortium of small groups that really think maybe even those in their same party are a little... well.. you know...

Um.... So... Statista is using the total Deaths since tracking started and this is making your argument? Hah....

How about the last 7 day average?

States ranked by COVID-19 death rates: Dec. 17

Here is a breakdown of average daily COVID-19 deaths and COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people over the last seven days in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. The data was last updated Dec. 17.

Note: States are ranked by deaths per 100,000. The list includes ties.

I genuinely don't understand how Florida is kicking so much ass at this pandemic thing. They're full of old people. They should be dying in droves. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they're not, but, wow!

I'll readily admit that I don't know enough about the virus or the vaccine to make a convincing argument one way or the other so I could not support a mandate requiring people to get vaccinated.

My very patient wife, on the other hand, has studied it closely and was adamant that I, too, got vaccinated because of my age and collection of maladies (cancer, atrial fibrillation, anemia etc). I also thought that at my age, "long term side effects" were about as meaningless as a "lifetime guarantee" and I didn't want the stress of discord on the home front.

Meanwhile, if I grow antlers or a second nose I promise to start a thread on my deformity right away.

I think it’s the climate. At the height of the summer locals here tend to stick to staying indoors. Now it cooled, more people are doing things outside. So, we had our delta in the summer. Now it’s the winter and the northern states will be pounded for the next couple of months. After that it will be Florida’s turn and we’ll be watching our progressives blaming vaccination status for the surge again.
    Rinse and repeat.
Oh, we have elections next year, so if you were hoping covid will be gone - you are in for a surprise! Look at omicron - no one died from it in 7 weeks it’s been around, yet the Dems just roll up their sleeves and impose fascism on their subjects regardless of the actual risks the virus poses. Dems will milk it to the fullest. The only chance we really have of putting covid behind us is next winter after elections.

It's the unvaccinated who die, even in the blue states.

The vaccine reduces the chances of dying from the virus by 98%.
