DeSantis is no Mitt Romney who was the woke Governor of Massachusetts before he ran for president. If you want a replay of Mitt Romney, support Larry Hogan of Maryland. I am well aware of DeSantis's record as Governor of Florida. It is rather excellent for the most part (some stains here and there, but that's to be expected). He's probably one of the best governors in the country atm, if not THE best governor. However, this race is for President, not for Governor, so more factors are involved (national economic and foreign policy) and those factors are not good for DeSantis.

If I thought there were any real stakes to the 2024 election for Republicans I might be more concerned about this, but as it is, Trump isn't going to live forever and these guys act as if he is.
