Trump is running and your Republican party was certainly not the winner in 2022. Yet you're running in the "there is no 24" election. "Haley has said she would not run for president in 2024 if former President Donald Trump ran again. In June, she stressed that she was focused on the 2022 midterms. "If we don't win in ‘22, there is no 24.. Once we win in ’22, Republicans have to prove we deserve to be there by results and solutions. I don't have to make a decision until the first part of next year. If there's a place for me, I've never lost a race. I'm not going to lose now," Haley told Fox News' Harris Faulkner. "I'll put 1,000% into it, and I'll finish it. If there's not a place for me, I will fight for this country until my last breath." https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nikki-haley-fires-back-tax-forms-leaked-media-republicans-too-nice
Thanks for the thread. It's pathetic yet entertaining to see just how incompetent, spineless and desperate Nikki has been from the get-go.
~ As witnessed recently — the DOJ will "create " something. It's what we can expect from now on ...
Agreed. We want the most principled candidate that can win the General. That was the pitch that got us McCain and Romney, and while the Left destroyed them as extremists, they essentially chanted: "THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!" There is no buzz for any of these guys. I don't know that they are on anyone's radar.
I think in 2008, no matter who the Republicans nominated, they’re going to lose. The recession, Bush’s very low approval ratings, most folks just wanted a change. There are elections like that, a foregone conclusion. Abe Lincoln or Eisenhower would have stood a chance in 2008. McCain probably stood the best chance of winning in November than any other. Although his chances were slim. Way too many things going against the Republicans. 2012, as much as I hate to admit it, Romney may have been the best choice out of a bunch of very poor choices. Santorum, Paul, Gingrich, Bachmann, Huntsman, Perry etc. Gingrich was my congressman for a long time, I liked him. But he was a poison pill nationally. As for the folks I mentioned in my previous post, they were all Trump chosen with the rest of Republicans going along with his choices. All very poor general election candidates. It seems to me Trump is still the leader, the head and face of the Republican Party. When the Republican Party is mention, most people think of Trump and no one else. There may be a lot of republicans that want to ditch Trump, but if so, they’re not vocal about it. Even Haley is trying to walk that fine line with Trump and his MAGA supporters. It is my opinion if someone else other than Trump is to win the GOP nomination for 2024, they’ll still have to win over most of Trump’s MAGA supporters to do so.
The more Republicans who get into the 2024 primaries, the better Trump's odds become for winning the nomination. I don't want him to be the nominee, but on Election Day, I will probably have no other choice. I would vote for him without enthusiasm just as I did for George Bush in 1992 for this reason. He broke his word to his base.
George Washington eventually learned that Americans tend to vote for candidates who offer them the greatest immediate tangible benefit AKA "treat" for their vote. He must have been A Democrat. I am amazed that Republicans ever manage to win elections.
Agreed. And that's the reason for her caution. If she wants to win in Nov, she'll need their support.
What are these "roots?" Isn't your point that the Democrats also need a 'return to sanity?' If so, who is the Romney/Cheney equivalent for the Dems?
@Izzy is right @gfm7175. If Haley is running for the sole purpose of attacking Trump, she is doing a simply TERRIBLE job so far!
Alot of @gfm7175's claims are true, such as election laws which were in violation of Pennsylvania's Constitution, and voting machines inexplicably going offline. However, this doesn't mean that it amounted to fraud, rather than just incompetence, or that even if it was fraud, it swung the election to Biden.
I think that the following was a reference to 2000 Mules: "Geolocation of people visiting a handful of different drop boxes and dropping off a handful of ballots into them."
Bingo! ANGLING FOR THAT POST-PRIMARIES GIG ON MSNBC: 2024 GOP Fantasist Hogan Says Opposing Trans Propaganda in Schools Is ‘Authoritarian.’ It's a good gig to claim to represent the 'sensible GOP viewpoint' on one of these Left Wing Propaganda networks and then weirdly, on every issue, you just seem to agree with the Left on that particular issue. DeSantis certainly can. Another that likely could do very well, but he probably wants to continue as Gov for now, is Youngkin.
Yes, I believe he said it in his acceptance speech at the 1988 Republican convention. “Read my lips. No new taxes!” And then he get into bed with the Washington swamp creatures a few years later. He forgot who voted for him and one of the reasons why.
Yes, he broke his promise. The Bushes came up with a weak excuse, which I dismissed from my mind, so you can condemn me for not wasting my brain cells on it. Go ahead. Unless tax increases are combined with freezing or decreasing spending (In government speekize spending less than a planned increase is a “cut.”) it means nothing. Old man Bush sold out, but what do you expect from a RINO who endorsed Hillary Clinton? This created “MAGA Republicans.” I am a hybrid who does want more Trump.

'Nikki Haley at the Council for National Policy'' "While learning on the job at the UN, Haley said, she sought out Henry Kissinger as her personal foreign policy mentor, meeting with him every two months to absorb his lessons.
