Yes, Noah's flood did happen 4000 years ago the devastation would be more devastating than what we are witnessing now specially since 4000 years there was no where to run, hide, no modern dams or levies or for outside help to come. :(

We are now lucky God has gave us the ability to conquer or over come nature.

Why do religious people always explain the unknown with an invisible friend that they can't even come close to proving even exists?

    Seems like a real cop-out.

Really? If so, God has done a fairly crappy job of it.

    Noah's Flood actually occurred?

Damn, the total absence of supporting evidence confused me for a moment.

So... were you going to back up your claim or just make a baseless assertion?

    Action steps for WanRen:
    1. Ask himself "where did a man from the Middle East get the penguins, polar bears, and kangaroos from, and how did he return them to those same locations?"
    2. Realize that this is yet another lie of the Bible.
    3. Leave the cult for modern Secular Humanism.

But it's a free country, so do what you want.....just my opinion.

I assume he was going to emulate JESUS in that regard. (i.e. not back up his claim with any physical evidence, or jury-level of proof, etc., just like the zombie from Nazareth) Hey, it works for Jesus.

Like religious people are always saying, you need to stop thinking with your brain and start thinking with your HEART, Wolverine, then and only then will religion make sense to you :)

If the Bible lied about that (and it almost certainly did), then it probably lied about the "resurrection".....so we can all stop worrying about Jesus returning, because it likely ain't gonna happen.

I was going to say something like this along these lines.

It's climatically and geographically impossible for flood to occur on a global scale.

The only thing accomplished by claiming the Earth was under water at any point in its 4 billion yr. history...is to make the individual making this claim seem an absolute fool that has no understanding of multiple scientific fields.

I can't wait for the "scientific proof" that the Sun stopped in the sky for Joshua.

(Typically, it's a much-spammed, yet totally false "NASA discovers the Lost Day" cut&paste now almost 20 years old. :) )

I didnt watch the videos because, judging by the titles, they actually have nothing to do with the biblical flood itself. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Your opinion is noted, as is the lack of any evidence or even argument to back it up.

I imagine it would be more devastating, yes. But mainly because "what we are witnessing now" is not even remotely close to a worldwide flood that would leave the entire planet covered in water up to the top of the mountains. Which brings us neatly to the next point...

The human race can survive large-scale floods of the kind seen this month. But then, the human race has had that capability since before recorded history began. Could the majority of the human race survive a mountain-deep global flood, even today? NOT A (*)(*)(*)(*)ING CHANCE.

    This OP is actually quite comical. It's as if you visualized the conversation going like this;

    OP: Because

    Posters: You've conviced me.

The dinosaurs got wiped out scientist never thought that such global scale event could have happen to wiped out an entire group of creatures. The black plague in Europe that wiped out almost 65% of Europe'a population up to now scientist are not sure what caused it.

Nothing is impossible when it comes to mother nature.
Japan thought that their nuclear plants were natural disaster proof and yet mother nature strike and their Fukusima nuclear plant got seriously damaged.

Why do anti Christian people always deny their own science and facts?

"Nothing"? Okay back to my example....could the Sun "stop in the sky for a day" and there be no major damage to the Earth or its biosphere???

On the contrary, men has learn to build dikes, dams and levies, men have learn to build weather devices that can fore warn them of in coming natural disasters, men have build sophisticated equipment that can ferry and move people from harms way and send aid and rescue that prevent massive lost of lives and men progress to learn how to build all these equipment and technologies because of God' greatest gift to human the human intelligence. without this human intelligence humans would have perished long time ago from natural disasters and from other animal predators. The Noah's flood was a testament of men's ability to build an Ark that can survive earth's worse natural disaster the ark will become the blue print of succeeding seafarers.

    I'm PRO truth.
Science and facts aren't always perfect, but they point much much more to a 4.5 billion year old earth than a 6000 year old earth. Face it, the Bible is wrong about many things (including the age of the earth), and Jesus is not a magic invisible zombie that will return.

So clearly the Bible can't be taken at it's word (the geneology to Adam and Eve - 6000 years and a lie, talking donkeys - a lie, the resurrection - yet another lie, etc.) Jesus ain't coming back.

    - - - Updated - - -

If I can show you fish that can live in both, would you say that the Bible is false?
