Most of them could not do anything that would require going outside the tourist rope lines.

Yeah, and you probably believe the sun rises in the west and the moon is made of green cheese, which makes any discussion or debate 100% futile.

The Leftists and their Orwellian control of information never ceases. It only took them 6 months. We still don't know who gave the order specifically?. Who shot the unarmed woman to death? Why are these rioters getting far more jail time than those that tried to burn Federal Buildings?

Can you show me where it says the president is the final leg in the chain of command for US Attorneys? for IRS agents? for Lieutenants in the army?

Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the US constitution:

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

I'm not sure what the IRS and US Attorneys have to do with this

Yeah that's not why I posted it. Derideo_Te was disregarding the report because it was also reported on a right wing website, so rather then debating the content he was ignoring it because of the site it was on, just pointing out that the report in question was originally posted on the NYT (a left leaning site)

I was simply trying to explain to the uninformed that Pelosi (along with Schumer) is in fact the final leg in the chain of command of the Capitol Police, as the president is the final leg in the chain of command for IRS agents and US Attorneys (and park rangers.)

As I posted, the Board of the Capitol Police, appointed by Pelosi and Schumer, told the Chief directly to not wear body armor and he could not have reinforcements on Jan 6, 2021. That is day-to-day operation control at the very least. So, my point was were they accountable or not? Is the president accountable for IRS agents and US Attorneys or not?

JFC......you're OK with a black person being shot for not complying with an officers command, yet when the white lady breaks in, the officer needs to go to jail ? You seem OK when they were BLM and ANTIFA protestors.....

She was breaking into a federal building, she broke a window and was trying to enter into a congressional office. But NOW the police should have used restrain ?

Whats different about this case....hmmmmm, what could it be......

You should brush up on the responsibility of the president. The president appoints the commissioner of the IRS, but outside of that president is not in the chain of command and can't order the IRS to terminate and initiate any investigation. This is all written laws. Now show me where it says in congressional law that Pelosi has jurisdiction over the capitol police.

Wrong. The board of capitol police was nominated by Republicans, not democrats. 2 of them resigned after the riots.

YOUR abject FAILURE to substantiate your BS allegation is what NULLIFIES any discussion or debate.

    Sad!

I have to give you CREDIT for being CONSISTENTLY WRONG on ALL counts.

The CONTENT of the REPORT is NOT what was being DEBUNKED as extremist rightwing DISINFORMATION.

It was the bovine excrement allegations that the Dems had "ordered" the "stand down" which was being EXPOSED on that DISINFORMATION site.

The ABILITY to DIFFERENTIATE between FACTS and DISINFORMATION is a skillset that is NOTABLE by it's ABSENCE among those on the extreme right that UNQUESTIONALLY accept disinformation because it TRIGGERS their own Confirmation Biases. Conversely FACTS and REALITY appear to trigger Cognitive Dissonance among that same group.

    Sad!

Too bad you have NOTHING credible to substantiate your factless OPINION above.

The president most certainly direct the IRS to do or not do certain things. The fact that there are legal constraints against certain actions in no way alters the chain of command. There are certain things a lieutenant cannot tell a corporal to do but that in no way removes him from the chain of command. Pelosi's (and Schumer's) chain of command is even more direct. She unilaterally and directly appoints the three Board members who can and sometimes do, like surrounding Jan 6, exercise day to day directions to the Chief of the Capitol Police.

That's at least three wrongs. The Capitol Police Board is appointed, not nominated, by the Speaker of the House and the majority leader of the senate. The board usually consists of the two Sergeant at Arms and the congressional Architect. (The Chief is a non-voting Board member.) De facto operational leadership is bestowed on the Speaker.

What I said is factually correct. The former Sergeant at Arms of the House and Senate were both nominated by republicans. The republicans controlled the senate majority when Stenger was appointed, so again, republicans were the one who nominated and appointed him.

So again, the house speaker and majority do not have unilateral authority. Even then, both members of the capitol police board were appointed at a time when Republicans controlled the house and senate. No where does it say in the text that the majority leader or speaker appoints the capitol police board.

In essence RodB is CONCEDING that the Republicans CONSPIRED with the INSURRECTIONISTS to ensure that they would be able to OVERPOWER the UNDERSTAFFED Capitol Police force on 1/6 by trying to SHIFT the blame onto the Dems instead.

Yup. They are trying to make an connection to democrats even though the connections are clearly republican. Schumer wasn't even the senate majority leader until 2 weeks after the capitol riots happened. You know who was senate majority leader? McConnell. That's right, but you won't hear a peep about McConnell being in charge of the day to day operations from the right wing at all because it does not fit the narrative.

I'm still waiting for a single source proving Pelosi controls day-to-day operations of the capitol police. The only proof that has been offered is that she is responsible because she has unilateral authority over capitol police board appointments, but I just proved that notion is completely false.

After 5 pages of thrust and parry over a "Stand Down" order that may or may not have happened,

    1) Did a crime take place ?
    2) If so, What crime ?
    3) If so, how serious ?
    4) If so, what should be the consequences ?

And remember, folks, you are setting a precedent with your answer.

And I understand many of the people arrested are going to claim they were not in the initial group that they just walked up the steps and the doors were open and the capital police were letting people in so they went in and meandered around for a little bit and then left.

If someone walked up and the doors were open and the capital police let them in what law did they violate? Not talking the initial group but all the others once the doors were open?
