It's just a somewhat more popular sexual addiction. Maybe it's the most popular one. Someone should do a poll and try to find out.

Good stuff. I estimated that you are mature enough to understand the reality of it, just took me a while to see how you are playin' it in here.

Agreed. Nobody should be compelled, but accept this: people should have the truth without bias from either side. Of course that's going to happen when pigs can fly. But seriously, society is making some slow progress on understanding it all, no thanks to the MSM.

I was illustrating the fact that there are two sides, both with an overwhelming number of Ph.D's touting their viewpoints. BTW, NARTH is a mental health organization. They have their promoters and detractors just like the others.

LoL, "Beware". That's rich. I know you don't think you have more websites on your side than I do, not that it matters. We should get together for a nice game of chess some time.

Laugh until you're out of breath; it's okay.

I'm not petty enough to assess anything by the measure you suggest. I've been around awhile, and I know how to check things.

    Why?

Here is an interesting paper discussing aspects of the genetic basis for homosexuality as well as reasons for the persistence of this gene in human populations.

    http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0002282#s1

Here is a very recent scientific publication that suggests that gender identity and sexual orientation are programmed into the brain while we are still in the woomb. It is explicitly stated in this review that

"There is no indication that social environment after birth has an effect on gender identity or sexual orientation."

Sexual-orientation is no "addiction"; please don't make things up, because it helps no one.

We'll get along fine, as long as you realize that I'm not "playin'" at all; I'm not into games. I've been through and have seen others go through a great deal in my short 50+ years of life. I could not be more serious about all of what I'm saying in this forum.

The best truth is what the BEST and most reputable scientific research has discovered and explained. There are numerous opinions indeed, but few actual consensuses of groups of experts.

It's just a matter of time/effort before a stronger scientific consensus is found. But in that I want to make a DISTINCTION:

The U.S. laws which affect the protections, rights and freedoms of ALL, should not continue to exclude homosexual people. This notion that we have to know EVERYTHING about homosexuality before we treat homosexual people as EQUAL, is prejudicial and certainly outdated; NOW is the time to recognize that.

The "Blame it on the media." mantra, is essentially played-out. Scores of people (who can read) have a wealth of information at their fingertips. Blaming the "MSM" for the kind of ignorance I've seen in your posts, isn't going to float.

And the validity of one side is SCIENTIFICALLY superior; one is based more substantially in the findings of actual, creditable research. As far as opinions (especially those associated with religion), they will hardly be the most 'objective' for fairly obvious (faith) reasons.

NARTH (for more than a few substantial reasons), is not as 'credible' as those within the most accepted scientific consensuses concerning homosexuality or human sexuality in-general. So yes, you'll have a range of opinions (on any topic), but not all opinions are as authoritative as others, nor have all opinions withstood the scrutiny of being peer-reviewed and approved. After all, we're talking about science (for the most part), not romance or politics.

So if I'm reading that research paper correctly, it concludes no genetic basis for homosexuality or bisexuality.

This is the first time in this forum that I've seen someone post the "still in the womb" theory that is now the focus of most of the research taking place in this area of study. Great job!

Homosexuality is nothing more than a sexual addiction. Efforts to elevate it beyond that only became effective in the last several decades. It's been a well-known and studied sexual addiction for thousands of years across the globe.

So be it. Johnny is serious about this subject. I was lamenting about how you are approaching the differing perspectives of others in here.

You may wish to adopt a more "above-the-fray" approach. In actuality, there are two well defined groups with conflicting consensuses. Each has some level of bias because they are trying to prove the opposite.

We don't need any laws that recognize some kind of special groups according to their sexual addictions. That would lead to chaos.

It's way more than floated, it's established that the MSM, excluding FOX News (my favorite), is strongly biased in favor of decadence and with little consideration for long term damages. Editors from the MSM are responsible for over-reporting anything that favors homosexuality and refusing to report anything negative about homosexuality.

It's pretty amazing that we are seeing so much reporting about the Penn State male-on-male sexual abuse scandal. As of a few minutes ago, it's off the foxnews.com page but still at the top for cnn.com. All the editors are probably stressed out by the different special-interest groups making their demands about how the story is reported. Looks like the nambla crowd is having some impact in their efforts to reduce the usage of the term "pedophile" in the reports. The militant gays better get with it - I saw one use of the word "sodomize" from an MSM news site a few days ago.

That is a statement which departs from reality. You are indeed making up your own world; or distorting the view you have of the real world. :(

As I implied, I'm not playing games. I say what I mean, and mean what I say.

Sometimes I DO, not always and certainly not lately.

As I said to someone somewhere else, NO ONE has THE answers which YOU CLAIM. At the very least, it is fair and reasonable to give individual homosexual people the benefit of the 'unknown'.

The reason I intend to be on your comments (or anyone else's which make such claims), is that they are too often used to affect people's lives by giving FALSE justification for any number of negative things. What MANY are saying is true, is mere opinion, AND the rights/liberties of homosexual people do not hinge upon discovery of the 'unknown'.

I am just FIGHTING now. Reason is good and I believe in it. But now I'm mostly fighting for the rights/liberties of homosexual people. I'm fighting the Rick Santorum's and Gary Bauer's of this world. And I strongly intend to KEEP IT UP, and pass the fire on to others... as long as I am able to do so.

Define "sexual additions"; according to your FAULTY LOGIC, HETEROSEXUALITY IS AN ADDICTION.

You know, it is so IGNORANT and FOOLISH to sit/stand/lay there are your computer terminal, and type-in that kind of UNTRUTH (a lie). The people with even a most basic view of reality, realize that "homosexuality" or "heterosexuality" is NOT defined as an 'addiction'. You are PUSHING THAT OPINION, because you have been CONVINCED to BELIEVE IT. That is not scientifically supported by any major and reputable mental health organizations. If you have them, please list them (YOU made that STUPID CLAIM, not anyone else).

Stop blaming the media, for your own biases. Think for yourself, but please... stay close to reality.

Why not?! It was/is a terrible crime. I'm not surprised at all.

If at some time Fox or others see commercial benefit and putting it up "front", they will.

Whatever you 'imagine' floats your hole-riddled logic.

    Do you support them(NAMBLA)? I surely don't.

How do you define "militant gays"; it would be interesting to find that you knew what you were talking about.

Well, I for one hate when people hurt children; but it you really want to do that topic (pedophilia and/or child rape) real justice... then you need to start a different thread.
