one last time : what is "woke" and why is it a bad thing?

Woke is just the latest ignorant pejorative that reactionaries have come up with to attack those they hate.
I remember when 'liberal' was the insult of choice.
Reactionaries become more and more unhinged as the world leaves them behind.

 

That sounds exactly like a trump defender, not people who care about the world and respect its diversity.

 

Said by someone that supports a party whose policies are getting black folks murdered in record numbers even as it gives aid and comfort to their murderers.

 

If I define it as I see it applied to the left by the right, then woke is one doing wrong while being oblivious to their error thus making remedying the error impossible. In other words it is an example of the Dunning Kruger Effect that examines how those with topical knowledge argue it as though they have deep knowledge yet lack the self awareness to detect their own error and are highly resistant to seeing it even when pointed out. In other words something we have all been guilty of more than we can ever know. Thus it applies every bit as much to the right as it does the left. Partisan biases keep the politically loyal from seeing this which gives a false sense of superiority making the double standard all but impossible for the partisan to see. I see irony when the woke call those they oppose woke.

There are some good books that examine political science, specifically the sociology of partisan politics.

 

Woke is a load of crap, it's authoritarian, and it's a waste of resources.

Whites are 71% of the population but they only got 40% of the math degrees. They described this underrepresentation as "largely white" when it's clearly largely other than white.

But their goal is not math or fairness it's lining their own pockets.

 

Woke is communism as advocated by far left organizations, once headed by Black Lives Matter. Now it’s the policy of Biden administration.

• Unlimited government spending with little control over how much of the funds are misappropriated. The basis for funding this is rooted in Modern Monetary Policy, which advocates an unlimited increase in the money supply to fund government spending.
  
• Your children are the property of the state. They will be indoctrinated with progressive interpretations of history and public policy. If they decide to change their gender, after they have been groomed, you will not be informed or have anything to do with the decision.
  
• Children, who report that their parents are engaged in activities against the state, shall be handsomely rewarded. Those activities include any opposition to the progressive movement or philosophy.
• Single family housing will be phased out. All citizens, except high government officials, shall live in government owned apartment complexes. This is the part of the equity program.
• All citizens shall have same income regardless of their education level or personal achievements. All outcomes must equal.*
• Personal transportation shall be phased out. All citizens shall use public transportation. Citizens will live in cities which are more efficient and friendlier to the environment.
  
• Criminal activity will not be prosecuted, except for those who have committed multiple violent offenses. An exception will be made for anyone who commits a crime against the state. Crimes against the state include any political activity which opposes state policies.
  
• Elected legislatures will no long be needed. All laws will come from the bureaucracy in Washington, DC.
  
• Petty theft under $1,000 from privately owned stores will not be prosecuted. Theft from state owned stores will prosecuted to the full extent of the law and beyond. There is a zero tolerance policy for anyone who steals from a state store.
• All monuments and statues that depict any historical figure who owned a slave shall be removed.
  
• The Fourth of July shall be abolished as a holiday. January 6th shall take its place. On that day reactionary elements nearly took charge our people’s republic. It must always be remembered as the day when heroic patriots in the progressive movement took back our nation.

* High government officials shall the allowed to make as much money as they can by any means. There shall be no limit on the amount they can own. They deserve more equity than other citizens.

 

Awareness is NOT an intellectual function. Nobody who is actually "aware" would make this claim...ever!

When the intellect becomes corrupted, people begin to believe that they "understand." It is this understanding that places them squarely on the bypass to hell.

 

It's funny. Hunter Biden is probably the most famous crack addict of all time. Yet, it looks to me as if he's never done a day a jail for anything.

The only proper way to respond to nonsense is with MORE (but funnier) nonsense.

I find that many who claim to be against racial discrimination are actually ok with it when done against white people (and sometimes asian people). They appear to be pro-PoC instead of anti-discrimination.

 

You have plenty of experience interacting with people who don't know, but none with those of us who DO know.

 

Every day more it appears like, if Trump is the candidate, Democrats have a much better chance of a landslide. I hesitate to point it out so as not to make trumpists too aware of this. Because it IS true that there will always be a danger that the orchestrator of the January 6 insurrection might win. Which would likely mean the end of our experiment in Democracy. But I'm afraid this country will never recover from his corruption unless Trump is beaten... AGAIN... but in a bigger landslide than last time.

 

Again, those who know would NEVER suggest such...as knowing is a state of being, not the command of a fact or three.

Truly your ignorance and arrogance are neck and neck in the great sprint to intellectual hell...

Why not dismount from your high horse and see what's going on down on the ground for a change...it's never too late.

Woke means to be aware. Even being aware of social injustices, end of story. Its an analogy to being awake, colloquialism, whatever...Dont over complicate things with that nonsense you just did above.

 

A perfect example of what one would expect somebody who DOESN'T command even a fact or three to say.

Knowing is not just a state of being. It's the end result of the process of LEARNING. To LEARN you can't be sleeping. You have to be "woke". But your post does explain why you "ARE" so uninformed.

You say the same thing over and over because you do not understand and have nothing to add. I am sure there have been times in your life when you have run onto people who you do not get. Instead of being so obstinate, why not learn?

Again, you are a perfect example of why the left fails over and over and over...you think you know and shut down any potential learning. It's a shame, because if you fail to balance your intellect, you go straight to hell [no passing go and collecting $200., as well]. This is why people on the left are the most miserable people on Earth.

I know when a discussion is over when the other poster has run out of arguments, and has decided instead to make ME the topic.

So, to summarize, "woke" means aware You can be aware of what is going on, you can be unaware, or you can be WILLFULLY unaware. You can differentiate the three groups according to these three choices: the first one knows what they're taliking abut, the second is completely clueless (as to their own admission) and the third one attempts to change the subject to ... ME! That's how important I am to them....

 

Woke is, when reduced to its most pure form, arrogance.
