I completely understand your point, however the article is not only poorly written but makes sweeping and incorrect generalizations.

Cite a better article and you will get better responses. The article is just more labeling neo-military complex trash talking from a hater. It is hard to read/listen to and then have a open discussion about the point.

Well, point taken. But there is a bit more to it. Most of our wars have been created on purpose for us to fight, by the people who are suppose to be looking out for us, but really work for AAE interests. Not the peoples. Nato is also a creation of those interests as well as the UN. Remember under Clinton Nato stood with OBL against our allies in yogo.

Here is a film which goes over the created wars in case anyone is interested
    [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4150721836655265647&hl=en"]World_Revolution_2000K.wmv[/ame] 2000 kbps

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. . . .http://www.radioliberty.com/nlaug05.html

Would you have gone if you were told the truth? That these wars had nothing to do with the US, instead they were AAE wars, which means you were sent there for the geo-political gains of the same money powers our Founding Fathers fought at our birth as a nation?

FOUR YEARS before the Iraq invasion,

The Book the Grand Chess board was written here is a review of that book by Dr Monteith

The point is patriots do love the troops. They don't like them being used for evil purposes.

Which is better? To say your being lied to about the reasons for war, and spending your blood on lies

    Or

Go a head go, it doesn't matter your being used for evil purposes of rich men you hate you.

And the AAE interests do hate our troops

Henry Kissinger who works for these interests says this about US soldiers..

" Soldiers are dumb stupid animals, who are good for nothing but pawns of foreign police"

Do you think thats good? I don't.

I don't want to remove our armed forces. I just want them to be told the truth and do their duty for the US, not the global bankers who they are serving now overseas.

Vietnam wasn't about protecting our freedom. It was a UN based war via the AAE. AAE interests also created the hippy movement.

My point is our troops who are being told they are fighting for our freedom, are not. They are being used by money powers for other purposes. Selfish purposes of very rich people, who hate the USA. The globalists.

You do realize that we are sent to war right, we don't get to pick and choose which ones we fight.

Well, I understand your point. But the point in the article is troops only follow orders. And if they are not ordered to defend our liberty, they don't. And the biggest attack our our liberty today isn't coming from a foreign nation, instead from the inside of our own government. Who are turning the US into a police state based on fraud, and who refuses to protect our border.

Well, I'm sure if something like that happened a lot of our good soldier would stand with the people. But lets hope that never happens, the AAE would bring in UN troops and I don't think we would stand much of a chance. Throw that in with ever growing police state and we gots even more trouble. Because some of our troops are being trained with out congressional approval to go after Americans. They have been training for that.

The military throughout history has always had the same primary function, serve the ruling class. In democracies today the military has to appeal to the masses and being in the military is culturally accepted as a great sacrifice for your country. This mentality gets recruits who are less oppressive and extreme then other military's soldiers. This also means that the military in is more concerned for the general population, this does not override its primary objective however as we can still see militaries of democracies used in wars that are of no benefit to the public. I'm for demilitarization, i don't think the elite should have such a powerful tool in their pocket. By this point I don't really care about the mentality of soldiers or my opinion of them. The military is an authoritarian presence which is not required, the world should be rid of it. Pull troops out of foreign countries, stop hiring them, stop financing the defense industry, and pay them what they deserve.

The article is extremism. If you want to make a valid point or argument - pick something to cite that is well written, factual, and not perverted with gross generalizations that are blatantly inaccurate. This is nothing more than a sophomoric rant and in bad taste.

I agree - there is a point in the article, but you have to dig for it as it is buried in garbage.

Ok.....so how do you just get everyone to agree to get rid of their military? Your plan is a naive pipedream at best. Do you think dictators in the M.E. and Africa will "demilitarize"?

Well, I enlisted in march of 2006, and did a tour in Afghanistan. So my statement stands.

And as Nightmare said, we don't pick and choose which war is worth fighting and which is not, and when we are there, at least most that I know of personally, dont think "gee, what's the real political reason we are here? Is it right? Was I lied to? Oh crap, guess I should shoot back now."

But, I see it simply, we are bringing the fight to them, instead of here at your doorstep.

It's not our job to pick the wars.

Lies!? Well its called propaganda and its targetted at the people who need to be targetted. In a globalised community like today with multimedia you cannot run seperate propaganda campaigns, one for them and one for us... it has just to be one for them. Civilized nations have good educations system which try and most often fail to produce intelligent citizens. Intelligent citizens would realize that propaganda is used during times of war to distract and decieve the enemy. Now its all good when your own people believe your own propoganda during the war because that just adds to its credability, but it makes em look pretty friggin stupid if they actually hang onto these silly beliefs once the propoganda applicability expires. The 'troops' you refer to ideally understand this simple point and also hopefully feel like they are part of a broader strategy which their chain of command is responsible for managing.

Ok.... fair enough.... This is what I propose....

If you have such a problem living within the US and the rules and laws that go on here. This is what I am willing to do. And I really will do it.... promise. I will personally give you $5000 and a one way ticket to any country of your choice. And yes... I really can afford to give you the money. If you accept, I will video tape the event... and probably make the money back and then some anyway. You see... I actually LIKE capitalism.... :-D

There are only two things that you need to do to get the money.

    1. Sign a legal document drafted by a lawyer that renounces your US citizenship. As in... you make the choice... and you cannot change your mind in a year or two... and come back. This is a one way trip.

    2. You have to come with me to a marine recruiters office, and say to the marines faces, exactly what you just posted here in the forum, and have to listen to every word of the response you will get. Of course... I will have to make sure there are a number of marines there to hear your side of the story. I want to make sure there is no... misunderstanding... of what you are saying... or how you really feel about them. It will be recorded... no chance of violence or anything... I just want you to have the actual experience of having to face the people in "real life" that you attack in your online life.

Pretty simple really... I think it is a generous offer. Send me a PM if you would like to take me up on the offer...

I don't know about option 1, but I 100% guarantee he wont accept option 2. Peoples balls tend to shrink back down to size when they leave the comfort of the internet.

Don't blame the troops for our political realities. They are heroes even if our politician are not.

I think a better question is how do we get rid of our own first considering how deeply ours is fortified in our culture. Why does it matter what dictators are militarized in far off lands do they pose a direct threat to the people of our countries? does fighting a dozen of them justify 1 trillion dollars per year? How often has the international community really succeeded with it's interventions? Just because something can be better doesn't mean it will happen right away or even ever. Politian's shouldn't be corrupt but they will be individuals who are years later. Military should be dismantled by communicating to others the benefits of it's extinction or at the very least it's dormancy. As a Canadian i believe we don't need a standing army however i do believe that the veterans and current soldiers should receive all the benefits they were promised. We don't need tanks, apcs, fighters, bombers, or artillery, or anymore soldiers. I'm sure we could make do with intelligence and diplomacy. I bet the U.S. could do the same as well as the rest of the developed world. But there are strong forces against it. It's culturally adored, and there are powerful rich backers. Some things should be changed and are recognized but don't for thousands of years. What is morally right doesn't always win out. Why did slavery last so long in certain places that were highly advanced? Because it was almost universally accepted as being normal and many of those with the power over the slaves benefited from it. I suppose I'll try to get people to stop looking at the military as a higher calling through discussion and you can defend it through such. Hopefully (at least from my perspective) we can learn that we don't need it without demonizing all those who support it.

Do you sincerely in your heart believe the stuff you are saying or is this some sort of fantasy world you inhabit that the rest of us are unaware of?

"Hey North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, all the -stan countries in the middle east...tomorrow morning lets all dismantle our military hardware and get rid of our troops."
Enemy response: "SURE!" From now on we will talk about our differences and when we disagree we'll just keep on talking until we agree! Ill go ahead and send some flowers over as well".

I mean i dont mean to sound rude but what you have proposed here makes 100% absolutely no sense. If tomorrow the US dismantled its military then the day after we would have Russian or Chinese soldiers eating lunch on the White House lawn. The world doesn't work that way.
