Well, I suspect those who oppose Palestines admission to UNESCO do so because Palestines stated objective is the elimination of the state of Israel, one of the member nations, and that isnt compatible with UNESCOs stated goals.

You should stop playing the Holocaust card because there are now only 14 players left to use it against, with Germany being one of them. Abbas is a man, pretending to be President since jan 2009. Appointed by the Palestine Liberation Organisation's Central Council as opposed to being elected by the people or Parliament. Hamas, is the majority party in the Palestinian Parliament and they reject his authority as President. I applaud him for his efforts but he doesnt represent the Palestinian people. And since his authority derrives from the Palestinian Liberation Organization, he should insted work to write a new charter so they arent operating under one that calls for the elimination of Israel and the Jews
